Carne asada California burrito.
John M.

A great place for California style burritos here in Memphis. I had been to the other location and enjoyed my meal, I saw there was a location two miles from my hotel, so I headed over. I had the carne asada California burrito, which included fries within the burrito. I must say the burrito was huge and the flavor was outstanding. They have a little salsa bar with varying degrees of heat. My favorite is the green sauce, but be warned that it has a kick to it. The staff was friendly and the food arrived rather quickly, two admirable traits. This has become a place that I look forward to when I am in Memphis on business. They offer honest food, beyond fast food, but still a humble meal that is served fast and fills you up. If you are in the Memphis area, seek them out. It will have you coming back.

2 Shrimp Tacos (Left) & 2 Fish Tacos (Right)

We love to go here to grab a few tacos when we're in the area. All the Tacos on the menu are great to have, but the basic street tacos are my personal favorite. The fish tacos and shrimp tacos are both winners in their own rights. And finally, the Elena's taco is nice. As you can tell, we like their tacos. Can't say anything about the burritos or the rest of the menu because we've been fully satisfied by feeding our hunger with the basics. All in all, well worth the price for a good, quick, quality food. Just don't miss the turns into the restaurant!

Fish taco

This is what they're calling a fish taco. The piece of fish is the size of the top of the fork. Seriously? I've been coming here for several years. The quality & portions of food are steadily going downhill. The size of the California burrito is now what used to be a small. I went through the drive through on a previous visit. Ordered carne asada California burrito for my daughter. Got home and no fries! Not to mention it was small as hell. Also, now if you order to go inside the restaurant, salsa bar is for dine in only. If your order is to go, the cashier fills the tiny cups. Yes, the same cashier who didn't wash his hands after touching customer's credit card, receipt & the card reader. What kind of unsanitary foolishness is this?

Came here as a third wheel, ordered 2 tacos for lunch. One shrimp and one fish fried taco. The shrimp was really good probably the best taco I had in a while. I'll skip the fried fish next time. The guacamole was okay, kind of bland but this place gives you that San Francisco feel and price. My favorite hot sauce was definitely the Nina. Love that they play The Beach Boys nonstop.

Carne Asada Fries and Elena's Taco with chicken
Rebecca E.

When I arrived, it seemed as though you could only order through the drive thru, which is no problem at all for me. I ordered the carne asada fries and an Elena's taco with chicken. You have the choice of a flour or a corn tortilla. I also ordered a side of cheese dip to pour all over everything because, why not? My meal ceased brought to my car super quick and was freshly prepared. Once I got home, I really enjoyed my food. It was flavorful to me and adding the cheese dip was a plus. This was my first visit here, and I will definitely return!

Chicken tacos are terrible. Worst $7 I have spent my time here in Memphis. Glad I didn't spend a whole lot of money.

The tacos were good but smaller than I expected. They were worth the price. Service was fast and good.

Terrible. Half assed burrito for the second visit in a row. Should've taken a picture, but definitely won't ever be back.

I still can't stop thinking about the sauce station here. There's a private parking lot shared with the surrounding businesses, and the restaurant has around 15 tables inside. It is a good casual spot if you are looking to dine here. FOOD: This restaurant does not serve complimentary chips and salsa. It is $2.95 an order. 1. Torta Villa Carbon (4/5; marinated grilled chicken topped with grilled onions, grilled pineapple, melted cheese, jalapeños, and avocado): This was huge. I ended up saving half for lunch the next day. The combination of sweet and savory flavors worked really well together. 2. Campechano Burrito (4/5; steak strips and chorizo with rice, beans, lettuce, onion, tomato, and jalapeño): Steak and chorizo are always a winning combination, and this burrito did not disappoint. 3. Chirucas Chimichanga (4/5; two medium chimichangas stuffed with rice, beans, cheese dip, and your choice of meat, served with lettuce, pico de gallo, and sour cream): I chose the grilled marinated pork (al pastor), which was flavorful and satisfying. The server mentioned that the chicken version is their favorite. The service was decent overall, though it could be slow at times. I noticed a few tables waiting a while before servers came to take orders or refill drinks, and my drink was empty for a bit before getting a refill. Dinner service can get very busy, as every table was once full in one of my visits. Would I come back? Absolutely.

Once you order, they give you a buzzer and then bring your food to the table. They have a beverage and utensils station. There is plenty of seating. I love the casual theme. Speaking of my order, I had The Threesome. It comes with green chile queso (has a little spice), guacamole, and your choice of salsa. All of them were really flavorful. The cips that comes with it was really fresh and tasty. I also had the Trailer Park. It is loaded with flavorful fried chicken, green chiles, lettuce, pico de gallo, mixed cheese with poblano sauce on a flour tortilla...so so good! the cashier recommended it to me because it was my first time there. The other taco I had was the Chicken Fajita. It is marinated and grilled chicken, grilled onions and peppers, pico de gallo, mixed cheese with tomatillo salsa on a flour tortilla. I also want to add that they have a full bar and tvs. It would be a cool spot to watch the game. They also have a drive thru! Now that excited me, lol! So you know what that means....I will be back!

Considering the current economy, I'd say that the food is reasonably priced for what you get. We ordered the Outlaw Bowl and the Airstream Salad. (Nothing negative, just a mid-tier franchise). All in all, this is a good option for those looking for an easy, quick, filling meal.

Seems there's some weird disconnect going on I wasn't aware of... This location is now going by Las Mexicanos instead of Los Comales. Looks like almost all new staff too, that could definitely use some Customer Service training. The menu has a 3rd name on it that seemed off as well. I was not told to come to the hostess stand to be seated, no friendly greeting when I did approach the stand. Once seated, the chip & salsa dude was quick enough in dripping them off w/out so much as a greeting. Maybe he's the silent type? Who knows? 2 Now the real wait begins.... Nothing to drink nor any sign of anyone even slowing down @ my table to take a drink order. Maybe they were fighting to see who would take my order? ‍ I was almost finished w/the basket of chips, decided what I wanted and LAID THE CLOSED MENU on the other side of the table close to the edge, hoping someone would notice. I had decided if they couldn't be bothered to come by the time I finished the chips I was leaving. Magically a waitress finally shows up w/3 chips to spare. Placed the order for water and dinner at the same time. Dinner came out quickly but looking pitiful w/barely a full tablespoon of guac, tomatoes or sour cream. Cheap bastards! The flour part of the chimichanga was NOT CRISP, & I was given plastic utensils to maneuver this sad plate. I have eaten here MANY times as I live in the area so I am more than disappointed w/this experience. Not a single customer sitting in the middle @ the 4-tops & @ least 7 booths empty; on a Saturday night @ 8:00 pm. Sad that they have lost so much business, I'll think twice before considering spending my money here again.
