A real efficient and surprisingly good Mexican restaurant with great location in an adaptive reuse fast food place. Good service, chips, and salsa. Beer and bar prices very reasonable. My group tried different items from chicken fajitas to enchiladas to nachos. Food was fresh, served hot, and tasty. I highly recommend the Pollo las Pilates, a bit of chorizo and shrimp over a thinly cut but not dry chicken breast. Just the right amount of cheese and pico topping. Very impressive. The food at Los Pilares is absolutely delicious, the service was great and the options are plentiful, I had the Enchilada Suprema which is a cheese, chicken, beef and a bean enchilada, the beef was very tender and it was very tasty, to me the salsa could have been a little more fresh and flavorful but other than that it was delicious read more

Looks like regular Mexican restaurant when going past but if you go in on a nice spring/summer night it is packed! I know why tho! The margaritas were fresh and strong! All the food is delicious and the service is always great! Never had a bad experience here and during corona they stayed busy with Togo orders no wonder this place is still running and busy! Used to come here every night with my family all throughout years childhood and the boss is a friendly of my dad's. Since they've offered drive through, they have forcefully added tips to the tab and they overcharged me 26 dollars on a 15 dollar meal. Same meal, almost twice the price. It has happened twice, once with a lady with dark short hair and once with a new male worker with glasses. They made what was once the best place in Millington the one place I will no longer go to. This is my absolute favorite Mexican Restaurant in town!!! They have great drink specials & margaritas, too. The food is yummy and the waiters are very attentive and they even know our family & what we're going to order! Our personal favorites are Sergio & Augustine, but they all treat us like family. They do a wonderful job at spoiling us every single time. The service is fast and the atmosphere is relaxed even though it's usually pretty busy. I love that they keep everything clean, but the restrooms are always clean & fresh, too!! You're almost guaranteed to catch up with a friend & grab a hug here, staff too, as many locals frequent here. I love how they support our local athletic programs as well. (The community thanks you.) Thanks to my buddy Andy, I visited this place today. I wouldn't have but Andy sent me the attached pic so while driving through Millington in search of lunch I asked Siri where I could find tacos near me and noticed the first place she pulled up was Los Pilares and they had many positive Yelp reviews. I had the 7.99 two taco rice and beans special and was pleased. The meat was savory and the cheese was fresh. The shell was a bit stale perhaps, a bit too hard chew rather than crispy delight. The salsa was fine once my good buddy Alex had the great idea to ask for some Pico de Gallo on the side which combined nicely. The chips were good. The cheese sauce was runny. The guacamole was ok. All in all my experience was satisfactory and I'd visit here again after I have tried the rest of the Mexican establishments in the area read more

Exceptionally poor service. We came late and wanted to eat on the patio. The restaurant was busy, but not packed. We waited nearly 10 minutes just to place a drink order and ask for menus because the waiter was flirting with some tipsy customers and getting their phone numbers. Our food came out quickly after we ordered, but my order was wrong. The waiter tried to argue with me, but he didn't understand the written English on the menu and finally got another waitress who spoke English and verified that I was right. I'm from California, and am critical of Mexican food. This was the best Mexican I've had northeast of the border lol. I was surprised, since when I think Tennessee I don't think Mexican, but it was pretty authenic. The outside of the building looks a bit 'hole in the wall' but those are usually the best spots. OMG, Best Mexican food in Millington by far, and in the northern part of Shelby County. My favorites are Enchiladas Suizas and Tacos de Carne Asada. However, every single thing I have ordered has been delicious. Lunch specials for under $7 too. Margaritas on the rocks are to die for, but be careful when you order a large beer. The outside is deceiving - saw the drivethru window and almost wrote-off this restaurant as fast food but due to all the cars in the parking lot on a Tuesday night, opted to go inside (later learned the building was an old fast food chicken restaurant and the drive through is not used any longer).
