If i could give a 0/5 stars I would. Cheese dip was terrible and cold. Our sodas tasted like they were out of syrup. The waitress was rude to us when we asked about an allergy and they refused to accommodate. Multiple servers walked past and stared at us. Rude, unwelcoming, atmosphere. No manager??? I'm a regular here. The staff is pretty grumpy,never a smile but for a neighborhood Mexi joint the beers always cold and the Fajitas are seemingly fresh with good mix of ingredients. I find the place to be above average and fair value. read more

I'm alive fellow yelpers! Yesterday was Dad's 70th birthday and we did birthday lunch this year and decided to try Los Pilares. It did not disappoint either of us. Everything was hot, delivered reasonably quickly, and with friendly service. The only *very* small complaint was that it did take a minute to catch our server's attention to get a to go box. Total for the food below plus a soda and tea was about 22 dollars excluding tip. Rating: 4.95 I shall be back with more reviews asap! read more

Went here yesterday, Wednesday, at around 5 for dinner with two friends. I've never been before so I was excited to try a new place but not too thrilled with the idea of Tex-Mex. However, they lean more toward the Mexican so I was pleased. One of the girls I was with goes here often and informed me of the check-in thing they have by the register. It was my first time so I got a free dessert with any entree purchase. The salsa was ok. My mother-in-law would say the salsa "pica pero no sabe," something that means it's spicy but has no flavor. The cheese dip was not my favorite either though I couldn't say exactly why. However mixing the two made a great-tasting mixture. I don't usually enjoy mixing my salsa and cheese dip, but here it was awesome. I got the Pollo Pilares and was very impressed with the grilled chicken in it. It was very tasty. I knocked a star off because we really didn't see our server as often as would've been nice. He seemed to be running around a lot while two others kind of casually did a few tables. I don't know why but that seemed really unfair and it hurt his ability to serve us well. But he was a good server and very nice so it seems like something management should pay attention to. Summary: ~ I will totally return here whenever I get the chance! ~ Use your cell phone number for the check-in for text coupons. You first time will get you a coupon right away. ~ Their grilled chicken is amazing. ~ They have a burrito chicken asada that I plan to try next time to compare with La Hacienda's. read more

I have been coming to this restaurant for YEARS! I went today with my sister for lunch. I ordered a margarita and a sweet tea. The margarita had a very sour taste to it. The waiter had brought our food and never came back to the table to even refill our sweet teas. When he finally brought the check over I asked him if he could please take the margarita off of my check since I had NOT drank more than a sip. That to me the taste was off. This man got mad. Walked away from the table and was trash talking me for complaining about his drink that he personally made for me to another employee. Then he comes back to the table and tells me he can just make me another one. I said we are getting ready to leave. I have never complained here at this place. My family eats here all the time and we always tip well over the check total. This waiter himself has waited on me probably hundreds of times before. But to blatantly talk about me in an open restaurant to another employee because he said I insulted his margarita. It's not like I drank them damn drink then asked for a refund. But he also still charged us for this drink. He literally acted a fool over an 8 dollar drink and lost a very loyal customer after this. I will absolutely NOT go back. read more

I got there @ about 10 minutes to 9. They close at 9:30 according to the sign. I ask the hostess if the bar was still open and if I could sit there; he was like sure. Sit at the bar looking over the menu, took about 10 mins before someone comes. Whomever this server was he was very rude and pushy. Proceeds to tell me to sit at a table because he needs to clean up the bar because they close @9:30. I sit at the table, he takes my drink order and brings it back. I ordered the Pilares Dip and Fajita quesadilla Jalisca. The dip was very watery and room temp . I asked the sever if it's normally cold and he says that it's like that because they put pico de gallo in it. It was too watery and it would've been very good if they put more hot cheese in it. The quesadilla was delicious. As soon as I get my food, he brings the check with him and re-reminds me that they close at 9:30. My only issue with this place was the service. Never came back to check if I needed a to go box or anything. If you know that you close at 9:30 then don't seat people in your restaurant when it's close to time. Selected Los Pilares for lunch Friday due to reviews already provided on Yelp. I was not disappointed. The salsa that came with the complimentary had great flavor, a medium heat, with a balanced and tasty blend of ingredients. I like a fajita salad ordered the steak taco salad fajita from the lunch menu. Often, you don't receive guacamole on a salad from a lunch menu. Los Pilares puts guac on the lunch salad. The steak was very tender, and the grilled fajita vegetables were perfect on the salad in the taco bowl. Yum yum yum. My table mates thoroughly enjoyed their entrees too. I would come to this place again for sure for any other item having the grilled meats. They did such a great job on the grill! read more

Seeing a crowd of people standing outside a restaurant can have many interpretations. Some might take it as an indicator this restaurant is really busy and doesn't have the staff to handle the crowd. While others might see it as a sign this restaurant serves really great food and the masses want to devour it up. When my dinner party approached Los Pilares on Stage on a recent Friday night and saw a HUGE crowd of people standing out front, I didn't know exactly what to think. But, we went in and waited for a table. My party of six was seated in less than 10 minutes. This restaurant had great flow. The crowd was seated quickly. As soon as we sat down, my party was greeted with bowls of warm fresh tortilla chips and flavorful salsa with visually stunning appeal. I can stand when some restaurants will set ONE bowl of chips and ONE jar of salsa for a table of 6-8 people. The salsa tasted fresh and is heavy on tomato flavor and could stand some onion or garlic, but we all consumed it with aplomb. Naturally, I ordered the cheese dip and wasn't disappointed. It had the correct consistency and flavor. I ordered the Carne Asada and received a bountiful plate full of skirt steak, rice and beans, toppings of lettuce, green bell pepper, tomato, and avocado. I also had three tortillas as well. My dish was muy delicioso! This was easily enough food for two people. I was a hungry bear and cleaned my plate. Another member of my party ordered the vegetable and cheese Quesadilla that was referred to as the best quesadilla they had ever eaten. I know that most Tex-Mex places have about the same menu selections. However here the food seems to be a little more seasoned and less bland than other places. Why have I avoided this place? It fits the bill! Nondescript, strip mall placement, affordable delicious eats, and good efficient service. Los Pilares is a great little Tex-Mex place. It's on a sparse part of Stage Road in Bartlett... if you drive too quickly, you'll miss it. I had the pollo chipotle, and I have to agree with Carrianne. It is awesome. I know it's a simple dish: chicken, cheese sauce, and chipotle spices served with beans and rice, but it's good. My barometers for good tex-mex are the salsa and the rice and both are on point. The guacamole leaves a lot to be desired, but I am very picky about the avocado goodness. There was a singer/guitarist guy when we were there, and it wasn't overpowering and we could still carry on a conversation while listening to the classic rock tunes. One downside: I was overwhelmed with a disinfectant-like smell right after walking in the door. It became less noticeable at the table, but at first it was really overwhelming. That being said, this is a solid place and I will be back to try a margarita. read more

I started out eating at LP my sophomore year of high school, every Friday before football games. Now, as a senior in college, I still try to frequent the place at least once a week. I've been to both locations in Bartlett and Millington--They're the same. I am a Mexican food addict, and have been to basically every restaurant in the Shelby and Tipton county areas. Out of them all, LP is my absolute favorite. The servers have always been extraordinarily nice, quick, and efficient. Even when busy, they still manage to be prompt. My food always comes out within around 10-15 minutes, even on crazy busy weekend nights, and I've never had a messed up, cold, or sloppy order. I've gone there so often, that most of the people working recognize me, and take time to ask me about my day, my friends, etc., which is simply nice. I've brought family, friends, and co-workers alike, and have yet to have a bad word said about the establishment in any way. If you like quick, friendly service, reasonably priced food with huge portions, and an overall nice, easy experience, then LP is the right place for you! Side note: I highly reccomend the Pollo Chipotle, their enchiladas, shredded chicken quesadillas, and most definitely their cheese dip. read more

It's a very clean and nice environment. Usually a good amount of cops eating here too makes it feel alittle safer. We stopped by Los Pilares this Thanksgiving Eve looking for a nice meal after previous plans fell through in the area. We were able to be seated with a party of 4 immediately early evening around 5:30pm. The waiter was very attentive and made sure to keep us supplied with chips and salsa. The house salsa was VERY good--tastes great and I could tell it was homemade from whole ingredients. We ordered La Guadalajara, a dinner combo, the enchiladas verdes, and the enchiladas supremas. The Guadalajara was good, filling, but the star of it was the chicken burrito. There were positive comments on the other dishes as well with a special shout out to the cheese enchiladas in the enchiladas supremas. I'd definitely recommend this spot off the beaten path for the good food and good service. read more

Eddie is amazing. Bartlett has several authentic Mexican restaurants from which to choose. The food is pretty much all the same at each restaurant, therefore, service should be above and beyond & prices equivalent to get regulars. The servers at this restaurant are very attentive and polite! Prices are less expensive than Los Cabos. I am looking forward to the opening of the new location on highway 70. read more

We have been going to this location for years, however the service has been on a decline. After our past experience we will not be returning to this restaurant. Our server was clearly more interested in talking to his friends at another table and we were all but completely ignored and treated as though we were an annoyance to him. We ordered queso and had to remind him (again he acted annoyed), we had to get up from the table to find him for a refill as our glasses had been empty for almost 10 mins, only for him to give the task to another server who came to our table and said "sweet tea" (also in an annoyed manner like the other server) and set the glass on the edge of the table and walked off. When we confronted the manager about the service, his response was "oh well". There are plenty other good Mexican restaurants in the area. Don't waste your time on this one! read more

Probably one of mine and Husband's favorite Mexican restaurants. Lots of food for cheap. Great shrimp and vegetables, tacos, and burritos for moderately cheap. I don't recommend the quesadillas because they have been greasy each time I have gotten them. The service is good and they take care of their regulars. Good food, good people, good prices...
