Exceptional in lots of ways! Employees are happy, not just polite and friendly, they are having a good time and glad to see you. They are helpful when selecting on the menu and they make great suggestions. The food comes out fast, it is always hot and it tastes great. Great pricing and our service is dependable. They come check on you often but they aren't annoying. The manager is always walking around and he's happy too! We go to this restaurant several times every month and will continue to visit often. Okay we just came here not long ago for the first time and we've already been back several times. I'm here to report: this place is such a gem! From the vibes of the restaurant itself to the kind and helpful staff to the absolutely incredible food -- it's ALL good. Special shout out to their bean dip with the white cheese dip all over it. Well, nothing seems to stay the same. We went for lunch today and at 11:30 the place was empty and stayed that way until we left around 12:20. Now I know why. My wife ordered the #1 lunch special consisting of a chili relleno, taco and guacamole salad. The chili relleno contained no Pablo pepper and was just ground beef topped with cheese. The guacamole salad had no guacamole on it, just lettuce. I ordered the beef fajitas hoping to enjoy the meal that I've ordered many times before. Well, I'm sorry but it was horrible too. It didn't have over three small strips of steak with lots of onions and peppers. When I inquired about the absence of the pablano pepper, I was told that lunch relleno doesn't come with a pepper. What is a relleno without the pepper? Then I was told if I wanted more beef in my fajitas, I should have ordered off the regular menu and not the lunch menu. What a crock? We paid for what we had hoped to be a good lunch and left. We won't be going back to the Bartlett location. read more

Stop in on a Saturday night for some drinks and food! I had the jumbo peach margarita. It was delicious and you get a lot of band for your buck! They have a drink special each day. I only paid $8.99! For dinner, I started out with queso dip. It was really good with the curtesy salsa and chips. I had the chicken quesadilla meal. It was so good and plentiful. Again, I couldn't finish it all in one sitting. This is a unique little spot. They have several seating areas including the bar, the main floor, upstairs, and a patio. Since the weather was nice, we decided to enjoy the night breeze. I enjoyed my visit. The staff was friendly and we got our food and drinks really quickly. Cool spot! read more

Oooooooo weeee. I've lived in Bartlett the past 7 years and I can't believe I haven't been here before. The food is fresh not frozen like most places. The rice is so fluffy. The guac is chopped and fresh. I ordered a skinny margarita and it's truly amazing. My friend ordered a pomegranate margarita and it looks freshly squeezed. She loves it. It's not too sweet at all. She let me try her second round. Please ask for Fernando when you come here because he is amazing. He's the best server because he is very personal and passionate. He wants to make sure everything is right. He cares. He honestly felt bad the kitchen added cheese to my plate when I specified not to. I told him it wasn't a big deal but he brought me more. I honestly asked for no cheese because I wanted to see if the rice is fluffy or sticky. (There's a way to stir rice.) This place definitely takes the cake. I eat here at least once a week. The food is fresher than any other Mexican restaurant I have eaten at. The service is personable and refreshing compared to other restaurants. They make sure your food comes out just like you like it. It is a clean restaurant with nice restrooms. I've been eating here since they opened more than 10 years ago. The wait staff was quick and got everything we needed in a timely manner. The food came out quick and our drinks were never empty. The patio is dog friendly but we can't go through the restaurant with dogs so the only way was to put the dog over the gate. The wait staff was excellent and on top of everything though. I grew up in Bartlett and come here once a year at or so. It's just a super cute looking place by the railroad tracks in the heart of historic Bartlett. I keep coming back because the employees are pleasant, the food is cheap and service is fast. If something is wrong, they are quick to fix it. I came here recently with 4 coworkers and we ordered a few lunch specials. I personally ordered the lunch special that had a chicken flauta, a beef flauta, rice, guacamole, lettuce and tomato. The flautas were bigger than anticipated and the rice was different than other Mexican American restaurants in that it wasn't just red rice. It actually had little peas and carrots like how some Mexican families I know traditionally make their rice. The down side was that my flautas were like rectangles with 3 indentations on them. They were not the rolled flautas. I'm not sure how they were rolled or cooked to look rectangular and with strange triplet marks on them. They were extremely greasy and there was a puddle of oil that had dripped from my flautas. I think their oil needs to be hotter. Even though my flautas were greasy and so strange looking, I still enjoyed my time there and will still probably come back again but I won't be having the flautas. My coworker who sat next to me had some delicious looking veggie fajitas. read more

My food yesterday was hot, fast, and exceptional! The building does need some work, but the food doesn't. I ordered special lunch #1, a tamale, and my friend had taco salad. The chile rellano was done a little different. It was more like a pile of beef with a little bit of pepper, and cheddar cheese. It was not the white cheese in a pepper, breaded, and fried. It was different and delicious. It is good to eat with the chips. The crunchy taco had shredded chicken instead of beef. I wasn't expecting chicken, didn't ask for it, and didn't read the menu well enough to notice if it was supposed to be chicken, but I didn't mind because it was also delicious. The beans were super hot and had a little melted cheese. I like to eat them with chips. The tamale was great. It was covered with chili which is a little different. The guacamole was perfect. Not too overpowering, not over processed, and not to cold. I also eat them with chips. All of my food( except for the plate with taco, guacamole, and lettuce) was piping hot just like it should be. The plate was also hot. I appreciate that. The chips were average, I'd say, nothing special. They were warm though and served with refrigerated salsa. I just hate salsa at 35 degrees!! 50 to 60 degrees is fine to store salsa a couple of days. If it is made daily, why do people think they have to be stored cold? You can leave tomatoes out for a couple weeks right?? Am I missing something people?? My friend's taco salad looked really good too. It was in an edible bowl. He said it was really good. They also had a fair price for 24 ounce draft beer. This was an old seafood restaurant. It really is a neat building but needs repairs and updating. On the plus side, its big, has a vaulted ceiling and an upstairs, and a bar. On the downside, it just doesn't fit well with the Mexican theme, it is old and dated, and just worn out. There is a train track all the way around that I remember from my childhood, but it wasn't running. Maybe it needs repair too. I did enjoy sitting by stage road and watching the traffic. My lunch was fast, hot, and affordable, though it was a little different. The food was so good,I won't let the building's condition distract me. I've eaten in shacks more run down than this. The food has to be worth it to bring me back, and you'll see me again, I promise. read more

Been here the past 2 Fridays. Busier tonight than last. Food was great both times. I got the cheese steak burrito both times. Excellent. I just wish that it included bore rice and beans instead of having to choose or pay extra for the other. Complimentary chips and salsa are good, but get the queso fundido - definitely worth the extra! Service was good, even on a busy Friday night. I'll remember that smoking is allowed outside next time as it was quite cold at my inside table along the side wall on the 1st floor. A normal person could have eaten at least twice on what I ordered, yet my total bill was $30, before tax and tip (I did have 2 large Dos Equis Amber Draft and paid extra to add beans onto the entree). Only complaint (other than my cold table on the wall) was that they could have cut the steak strips in the burrito a tad smaller (considering that we are provided with plastic utensils).
