Not very much.. Steak Super Burrito- $11.75 Iced Tea $2.75
    Timothy I.

I guess I had written across my hat " I'm an asshole"bc after he "Angel R." Took my order where as I was quick not the usual me, I got the super steak burrito. It wasn't a super steak burrito it was the length of the fork. I've had burritos the length of the plate covered with sauce etc. really wasn't that impressed by that order and the service needs to check in every one the same. There were other tables that were given more attention than a couple others. As I observed his performance. Not once did I get asked if I needed anything else or was everything good. Only thing he did was refilled my tea glass without asking that's fine, but this place needs less servers Like this guy. I could go on and on but just not impressed with the service nor food.

Chimichanga with rice and beans lettuce guacamole and sour cream

We arrived Friday night and seated right away. Booth seating. Table little wobbly. Food tastes very delicious, flavors are not lost or Americanized. My chimichanga had all 3 chorizo (pork) chicken and shrimp. I ask for shrimp on side since allergic but my husband ate em. Large queso was 8.50 I should've gotten the small. Large wasn't really large. Waitress wonderful service she came regularly with a smile. Will definitely return.

I was extremely shocked and pleased with our visit to El Charro. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted and asked for our seating preference (I forget other states you can have a smoking section Or non-smoking). We were basically followed to our seats with a lady carrying chips and salsa. The chips were hot and Crispy and the salsa was cold with a great kick! We ordered beer and a margarita and cheese dip to start. The margarita was wonderful especially for the price. The cheese dip was the perfect consistency which went perfect with the chips. The menu is huge, they have lunch until 2:30 and you can actually order thing from the lunch menu out for an additional charge. They have a ton of different choices and for "appetizers" you can get say chicken nachos in a full or a half order. You can get a fried tamale, you can get fajita nachos, literally anything your heart desires. But what you should get is the shrimp and Mexican sausage quesadilla. It is by far the best thing on the menu that I tried (granted we didn't order everything on the menu but all that we did order was phenomenal). We also ordered homemade hot salsa which was thick and chunky with a ton of flavor. The tamale was a dryer style tamale covered in beans and beef typically with a red sauce but we requested without. The half shredded chicken nachos had a ton of chicken on them and the perfect ratio of cheese. Overall great service, great atmosphere, phenomenal food, and amazing quesadilla! PS they make their own chorizo! The "Mexican sausage" is homemade and absolutely ridiculously delicious. We will be back every time we come through the area!

My first time here and it was stellar. All the way from the greeting to the seating to the eating the service was continuous the waitress kept checking on us and the food was hot steaming and delicious and the drinks was on point definitely enjoyed our experience and will be coming back

We were super hungry so we found this place. The fried ice cream was good but everything else was just terrible. Also, the smallest portion sizes I have ever seen at a Mexican restaurant.

This place was pretty good. My quesadilla was hot and the shrimp was well seasoned. I loved the cheese inside it was rich and creamy. It really brought the flavor out of the quesadilla. The rice and and beans was a great addition to the dish as well. The pico de gallo was the best. I wish I could have had an order of just that. The cilantro was prevalent in the pico but I loved it! I would come back again if I come back to this part of town.

This was a stumble across place. As many time I go down Goodman Road. We never noticed it. My friend had a going away party here. Green building and authentic decor. The service was attentive and quick. The food was good. I had nachos. Kids had enchiladas. And others ordered this overly stuffed steak, shrimp and chicken thing. A+ Good portions for the price. Weekdays Mon-Thur Margaritas are 2.99. They have a lunch menu as well. On this Saturday a good size crowd, the workers were rolling with the orders and cleaning just as quickly. I need to return when it's not with a party pack. Just to really explore the menu and eat and drink. ;)

Came in for lunch on a Friday had a margarita meh it was ok my husband thought it was mixy and we both got a lunch special burrito that had pork in it looked much better than it tasted. Meat was unseasoned and dried out hard to eat it best part was the pico and guac. It was cheap but unfortunately we probably won't give it a second try.

Welcome to my 100th review. I always wondered where it would be and always hoped it would be one of my very favorite lunch spots. I always imagined it would be a stellar review unlike any I'd ever written. I am proud to make El Charro my 100th. This one I totally recommend! Mexicans, by and large tend to provide exceptional quality so many levels above your typical American restaurant. There are some bad ones, but my observations are that somehow they open a building and they just KNOW exactly what to do. And they do it well. They also are able to provide exceptional service while maintaining a low cost. By and large, my observation is that Mexican restaurants, if run by Mexicans, can survive a very long time. El Charro is no exception to this. It is no secret that they are willing to work much harder and demand less than the average citizen. Did you know that if it weren't for their hard work supporting Mexico city, that it would be underground by now? Or how about every time you salt your fries, a Mexican may have dug that out of the ground. They have the largest salt mines in the world. On one hand, America doesn't want immigrants to compete in the work force. My belief is that they can serve a purpose that we cannot. Especially in the restaurant industry. I've never eaten good Mexican food that was not prepared by a Mexican. That includes my own cooking. They do it better. They can even wear shorts and miniskirts here. And idiots can vote! I wish America WOULD prohibit idiots from voting! Yea, I know. I've eaten here about twenty times in ten years. It's been about six months. My favorite is the molcajete! It is the ultimate. Everything else has always been great! This is five stars for twenty consecutive meals. I'll just review my lunch today. Walked in and chose smoking, but walked straight to the bathroom without first selecting a table. When I returned, a waiter was waiting for me to show me a table where chips and salsa were already provided! That my friends is service and I cannot think of a non Mexican restaurant that is so responsive and on their game. It did not take me very long to select a grilled shrimp and sausage quesadilla from the lunch menu. Within ten minutes it was on my table and it was hot. The plate was hot too. Actually I noticed how well that plate held the heat for most of my meal. The best part was that it filled me up, which is what I came here for! I also asked for a large DOS EQUIS which turned out to be 25 ounces for $4.25! This is a bargain for a beer and I'm positive that they know how to make a profit and please their customers. Why then do other businesses need such a higher markup to survive? This is exactly what I'm talking about maximizing utility. Granted it isn't steak, crab, or lobster, but it is shrimp and sausage. It satisfied my need and I'm willing to pay the price again and again. Some people believe the server's tip should be proportional to the cost. I reject this notion. My belief is that value adds satisfaction to the meal and better affords the patron to compensate the server. If you feel your meal was worth more than the price, simply add that difference to the tip! El Charro, you did it again! Thank you for your hard work!

The restaurant is described as Latin/Mexican, though we noticed the kitchen staff didn't appear to be Latin or Hispanic, which stood out to us. One thing that surprised us was that chips and salsa are not complimentary. The menu itself is huge--burgers, quesadillas, bowls, fried fish, wings, and more--so it felt more like a mix of different cuisines than a traditional Mexican spot. We did order the chips and salsa, and honestly, that ended up being the best thing we had. For our entrées, I ordered the fried fish and my husband got the BBQ shrimp quesadilla. His quesadilla was extremely runny and messy, and the only flavor that really came through was the BBQ sauce it was heavily covered in. My fried fish portion was generous, but the flavor was just okay. I ended up eating only about two pieces. I also tried the blood orange margarita, which was decent but tasted like it barely had any alcohol in it. Overall, the service was pleasant, but the food and drinks didn't impress us enough to make us want to return.

She did seem a bit busy and forgot about me a couple of times, but honestly, I didn't mind (this time)...I enjoyed the solo time to people-watch and savor my meal. I was seated near the kitchen alongside a group of younger waitresses, and the section filled with customers was mostly small groups and couples. Unfortunately, one young waitress (I'd guess around 18-20) was loudly using profanity, dropping F-bombs and openly saying she didn't care. It came across as rude and unprofessional, and I hope that kind of behavior doesn't become a reflection of the restaurant in the future. On a positive note, the lunch fajitas were delicious and a very generous portion. Despite the distraction in my seating area by the cussing, disgruntled young waitress, the food and my waitress's, Taniyah, friendly service stood out.

They agree with me on my point of view, so here we go. My first visit I was totally skeptical. I had read the reviews, which seemed overwhelmingly positive. Side note: Spread the love when you can, and write good reviews when you have good experiences. Don't wait and write a bad one after one bad visit. Ugh. I knew from the drop, as soon as I walked through the door it's far from authentic Mexican food, but totally "Mississippian Top of the Sip Mex" ™. That's another new one, you can use that one, as long as you pay me. Contact me for details, we can work something out. My number is (662) 513-0796. Now that the legal stuff is out of the way. Resuming.... My first visit, when my completely American server walked up and greeted me I was offered a "MS TOTSM" gosh durn bible of concoctions consisting of the same thing repurposed to trick the high brow MS masses to believe they have choices. I had not realized El Agave and Tate Reeves had so much in common. Stay on track, Adam!! This is Yelp! One thing stuck out to me that you generally see in decent Tex Mex to real deal Mexican food where no one speaks English. Chile Verde!!! I asked her about it, told her how reluctant I was ordering it based on her and my current environment (that brought a look), and she all she just said was "try it", so reluctantly I did. Sometimes I just need a lady to take control and tell me what to do. I'm there eating chips and salsa all patient and stuff... Boom! What comes out looks like baby poo. We might be on to something here!!! Could it be? The pork tips were swimming in green salsa, which was promising. I take a chip and dunk it in the verde.... Here we go! It's tangy, punchy, sweet, and spicy!!! Now all I need is the pork to not suck.... Holy shit!! It doesn't suck! It's actually good!!! Everything else is an afterthought. Rice. Blah. Beans. Blah. They are fine I guess. Just the norm, but the salsa on the pork steals the show!!! I eat it all up! I've came four or five times solo on lunch shopping excursions to Tanger and my Verde has always been a winner! On the family visit, C had a taco and an enchilada. Kiddo had the famous P-10, or MS Mush as I call it. They both ate it up so it must be good. Kid even took the rest home and ate it later. I'll be back for my baby poo pork! You can guarantee that!!
