Let me start this off so you get an idea of how remarkable I find this place. I do not like Mexican or Tex-Mex. I am probably the only person in DFW who can say that. I grew up in Pittsburgh in the late 70s and 80s and Mexican food had not hit the scene there. So I was never exposed to it until much later in life. I was 27 before I had my first taco. With that being said, I have found the goodness people talk about finally. I just stuck my toe in the water and had a Republican and a Chicken Fajita taco. First of all, one of them would have been plenty of food. Smartly, I stopped on the way back to work and got a Grande Blonde Americano with an extra shot. Otherwise I'd be sitting and nodding at my desk. The flavor was amazing and the place lived up to the hype which does not happen all that often. We sat at the bar and the two bartenders were attentive and fun while still professional. If you hang out in bars like I do you understand the fun professional line is easily crossed into the fun but service sucks area which is why I was very pleased with the service. The food was full of flavor and the sauces they brought out were really tasty. Although one was hot enough that I know I will pay for it later! ;) Now the price was unreal. When I got the check I had to take a look and make sure nothing was left off. A full lunch for under 8 bucks is unheard of unless you want to take your life in your own hands and some shady burger/chicken place. Torchy's is as always fantastic. Mary Carmen at the bar was fantastic and attentive, checking in routinely and making sure we didn't leave thirsty. Definitely recommend to anyone interested in trying some less than traditional, excellent tacos and drinks. read more

Great menu. Food was just average, though. Two tacos are plenty for a meal. The guacamole is AMAZING. Definitely get that. It has some kick! Service was very good for this type of restaurant. I'll come back and give them another chance for sure. read more

My first introduction to tacos in Dallas. Wasn't expecting much from a chain, but boy was I wrong. Three words... TRY THE QUESO!!! Brought here by a Dallas native, I was pleasantly surprised of the quality of food here. Huge tacos so you are definitely getting your money's worth. My favorites was the Crossroads one with smoked brisket, and the Wrangler breakfast taco. You can tell the ingredients are fresh. If you want fast service and good food, stop by here. read more

The only reason why I am giving 2 stars is because the food was decent. My biggest issue was the customer service. The guy at the bar seem like he had a problem until 2 customers he seem to know came in. At that point his whole attitude changed. My wife had some issues with the employee at the register when she was asking about vegan options. I don't know if this was a bad night for them but I will not be coming back here. Let me say this, aI love Torchy's! And I've been to some Torchy's locations that are pretty bad too (can't seem to have figured out expanding / franchising), but this location is the worst I've had. I got the Trashy Trailer Park with corn tortilla and it came out with this really stale looking tortilla. I decided to still try a bite and give it a chance. It was the worst. It was hard and dry and absolutely terrible. They swapped it out when asked but such terrible quality food should not have been served in the first place. Management needs to figure out what is happening here. Avoid this location if possible read more

This is the worst Torchy's to order to-go orders! Every single time we order either to pickup or through Door Dash, some aspect of our order is always wrong! From the completely wrong tacos, to forgotten drinks, and even added ingredients we have specifically requested to not be included...something is always messed up! We have called this location on numerous occasions and mistakes just keep happening! One good thing though, we always get full refunds from Door Dash because of their constant mistakes. read more

This was our first time here and I got their Trailer Park and Tipsy Chick tacos and wow best tacos I've ever had! My two favorite tacos are the Fried Avocado taco and the Brushfire. Honestly, I haven't tried any other flavors because I always order those. I've been a fan of Torchy's for quite some time! After having lived in Austin for several years, this is probably the best location in North Texas! I usually order to-go and my order is always perfect; some other locations (looking at you...Torchy's Tacos at Park Blvd & Dallas Parkway in Plano) have huge issues with this. My family and I have had a LOT of issues with this Torchy's Tacos. They frequently leave off items on our orders(Lil Nookies, chips, tacos, extra sauces) and give us incorrect items. When they do get things right, the food is DELICIOUS, however it's ridiculous that every time we order we pretty much have to expect that something will be wrong. In tonight's order, they left out our extra pico and there was a hair in my taco. Quality control is clearly absent at this location, which is extremely disappointing because as I said, we like the food. read more

I eat regularly at the Torchy's on SMU Blvd and despite being packed at all hours I've never had to wait more than 7 minutes for food. Ordered 3 tacos (brisket and cheese) and have been waiting here 20 minutes. Given the fact you've only been open for a week I'll give you a break with an extra star but completely underwhelming. Also, I feel bad for the people standing in line currently because there is only one cashier when need two. Highly recommend having an assistant manager from a well established franchise or store come in and help. read more
