Every time I come to this torchys; it's been so slow! The service here is really bad. I have always waited over 30 minutes for chips and queso... I always have to ask the workers atleast 4 times if not more about my order and I always have to call regarding the order being wrong as well which they have hung up on me in the past.They don't apologize for the inconvenience ever...the food doesn't feel worth wasting the time :( read more

This particular location can really be a hit or miss. We typically sit at the bar so it depends on which bartender you have and what time/day you go. Today, not one single person we had an interaction with seemed like they wanted to be at work tonight and they didn't even try to pretend like they did. The cooks seemed to be throwing things together. The server came out not knowing if our order was correct after he claimed for sure it was. The chips were stale. 2nd server brought ought new chips without taking the old ones and nearly dropped the new ones because she hadn't properly cleared the area. The bartender, although she tried to be nice, seemed too timid to function and did not make drinks well. My baja shrimp taco looked so sad that my bf didn't even bother to order any tacos. It wasn't presentable but it actually tasted delicious. Idk. It was a slow night with slow, subpar service. We visited Torchy's a lot before COVID-19 and are trying to support business around us but the service has gotten worse and worse. Not only do you place an order online and have a 35-45 min pickup time assigned, but when you get to the restaurant the food is NEVER ready and you end up waiting another 30 minutes. The worst part is that the food isn't even warm when you get it, so you wait for 4 tacos for over an hour and they come to you cold. I understand business are suffering and employees may not be coming to work to keep themselves safe but pick up the pace torchys! Gotta love Torchy's. Been going to the one in the Vintage every time we needed a fix. Glad there's finally one a little closer. For only being open a few weeks, they're doing really well. They were definitely on point this evening. Waited in line about 15 mins (line was to the door) which is pretty typical for a dinner rush at Torchy's, even one that isn't new. Millennial hangout. Way too expensive for what you get. Little single taco for six bucks. Took a business associate there because he thought it was new and exciting to have a Torchy's in Cypress. Two beers, two tacos, and an order of chips with nacho cheese ran over $30. And the cheese portion was in a 2 ounce glass cup. Literally hard to fit a chip in. My only complaint is in regards to ordering alcohol...We ordered margaritas at the register with our food, but were not informed that it's your responsability to get it from the bar. Usually i can not finish two tacos but i must have been hungry today. Ordered the diablo salsa and chips which is delicious but i could have sworn the last time i had it it was more of a habanero flavor and bright orange color. However what ever salsa i got today it was still good. I also always get the trailer park trashy and fried avocado both on flour because i don't want my taco falling apart. And my boyfriend gets 2 trailer park trashy tacos. We also get one drink but this time we were disappointed that the soda machine did not have the beloved signature torchys drinks like doppelgänger or any other maine root beverages. (Sigh) whats a torchys taco without a maine root drink? Ive also appreciate getting a good amount of salsa for my tacos. Therss been times where i only got 1 for 2 tacos or 2 for 2 tacos. Today ive gotten 4 salsa for 2 tacos which is quite enough. However id like to choose which salsa i get with my tacos and i think you can ask for it just have to do so before hand or else ill get the same salsa for both tacos. Extremely disappointed. This Torchy's has been my fun treat for a while. Today, I ordered a beef fajita taco and a Can of St Arnold's beer. The nice young man at the door took my order and directed me and my dog to the outdoor patio. A while later a young girl brought out my taco. No can of beer. I said, "I ordered a St Arnold's beer". The girl said, "I'll ask the bartender ". Fifteen minutes later and nothing. She forgot? She thought I was a liar? How do you eat a taco with nothing to drink? For starters, I love torchy's! I come here quite often and the food is always amazing! Due to COVID-19, they have curbside pickup. I ordered my food online and included a fountain drink with my meal. After I received my food I noticed I didn't get my drink, so I kindly asked an employee who was bringing the food out if I could get my drink. (My friend asking first) she rudely says "what drink" and I said I didn't pick one out yet and she kept asking in a very rude manner for what drink we wanted. I then asked for her name and she walked off and said "no". I will no longer be attending this location. If these are the types of attitudes this torchy's condones, they need to rethink. So glad torchy's finally opened on the Boardwalk. Once they get the bugs worked out and understand the demand so they have plenty of food for all, this will be a great addition and a hot spot for grabbing a bite while out on the lake. Could we be any luckier in Cypress?? Torchy's is the BEST! Their queso is the hands down the best I've ever had. I love how their tacos all have fun names and ordering them is hilarious. I love the Trailer Park Trash - extra Trashy. It is beyond delicious! The Tipsy Chick is also amazing. Their bar is fantastic as well. So fun to order drinks and eat some tacos while overlooking the lake or watching the sports on the TVs. We love it. read more

Eating here now Barker Cypress and Tuckerton. My Husband and I eat here once a month at different times. This Torchy's desperately needs improvement. Tacos come out more often cold and the meat is dry. And the service frequently comes with attitude. Although we have enjoyed our meals when everything is up to standards. This Torchy's could learn much from the Torchy's in the Heights. Sure hope they improve. read more

You know, I love tacos. AND I love the Torchy's in Katy. I've tried the Cypress location twice now and was disappointed both times. The first time, I had to wait 35 minutes for 2 tacos and 1 street corn. Unacceptable, but I thought since it's new, I'll give it another go. The second time, the food came out on time, but my "Independent" was so spicy I could barely eat it and the street corn was hard/old corn and too spicy as well.
