I'm a taco aficionado, corn tortillas, shredded beef or chicken, bacon, sausage, cheese, onions, beans,, potatoes, lettuce, mild to medium hot sauce. Occasionally, I'll have flour tortillas if I can't have corn. I thought I had already eaten the finest tacos ever made up in the Woodlands, but that place went out of business. Heartbreak. Then I read about the Taco House, outlandish claims of excellence. I have to try this upstart tacoria! Oh my god, every thing I had read was true. The finest tacos ever made are here, the tortillas are thick, flavorful. The ingredients that go into your taco are infused with a magical flavor that is unbelievable, there is a lot to choose from. My wife and I ordered 4 and ate them there. We then got 4 to go , with the orange sauce, the mildest one. Do yourself a favor and use it liberally, you won't regret it. The restaurant is located on FM 2920, in the space my favorite hamburger restaurant, 'Jack's', was. read more

Excellent food! Excellent service! When the owner cares about the quality of the food and your experience it's obvious. I'm not in this area a lot, but when I am I always make it a point to stop by and enjoy some delicious tacos. Also, try the cinnamon coffee - excellente'! read more

Why 5 stars? Because the breakfast tacos were all that I hoped they would be. --- --- --- When a place has 4.9 stars, it's basically impossible that it's gonna be bad. I'd wanted to try La Cocina for a while for that reason and those plans finally came to fruition. You walk up to a counter that has all the ingredients for taco making right in front of you. The guy asks you how many you are going to want, and if you want flour or corn, so he can let them know in the back to make your tortillas fresh. About 2 minutes later, out came our tortillas. I ordered 3: one with eggs and bacon, one with some kind of egg and sausage combo and one non-breakfast taco with fajita meat. The fajita taco was just okay, but the breakfast tacos had me thinking about them for hours after the fact. They aren't very big, so if you're a growing boy like me, I'd aim for 4-5 of them. The guy behind the counter tried to guide us into his suggestion of 2 each, but I jumped in and said make it 3 for me. If I could go back in time, I would have done 4 and made them all the breakfast variety. Both breakfast tacos were straight bangers from another dimension. All the sauces were great and none were too spicy. I might have to return to this place sooner rather than later because I really did think about it the rest of the day. I love you, La Cocina. read more

Tacos are delicious, homemade tortillas, friendly service that feels like family. 10/10 this place!!

Mario gave me a jump when my battery died outside his restaurant. Also, he makes some of the best tacos I've ever had in my entire life. I cannot recommend this place enough - every time my friends and I come through, he takes care of us like family! 6/5 stars read more

Tortillas, both corn & flour are very good (be aware it's a steam table). Didn't have a good vibe by the owners, as the reviews said they are very warm and friendly, he needs to be friendly with his own people, los paisanos; but my big disappointment is they don't put sufficient food in the tacos, the tortillas are a good size, but the food is spread to make it look like more. I will stick to my favorite taco place, Sunrise Taquito, big tacos on delicious tortillas, made as you order them (not a steam table), they don't skimp on the filling, and the service is always friendly. read more

Great tacos! Lots of options to choose from. Will definitely be back for breakfast tacos next time.

This place was a pleasant surprise, very busy but moved quickly, had a lot of great salsas to accompany the huge tacos. Will be back!!

I had two great tacos here, but I'm definitely going back. They had a lot more that looked and smelled awesome. I had the green eggs with beans and the picadillo with beans. They were both legit amazing, but the 3 salsas were next level. Dead ass, this place slaps. read more

This place is top tier all around from food to service. We got the breakfast tacos bacon egg and cheese, bacon egg and beans and Barbacoa tacos first thing this morning. Fresh, amazing flavor and the green sauce is chef's kiss. It was so good I wanted it again for lunch my husband went back to order and pick up around 1PM which is pretty close to their closing time. They were out of the bacon and cheese but instead of having to pick something else they made a new FRESH one for us service is so friendly and is unmatched! read more

I had an amazing experience at this taco restaurant! The freshly made tortillas were a game-changer -- soft, warm, and full of flavor. I ordered the barbacoa tacos and pozole rojo, and both dishes were absolutely delicious. The barbacoa was tender and well-seasoned, and the pozole had the perfect balance of spice and richness. The customer service was exceptional -- friendly, attentive, and welcoming. I definitely plan on returning and highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for authentic Mexican tacos. It gets really hot bring a mini portable fan. read more

La Cocina Taco House easily has the best tacos in the Spring/The Woodlands area. Everything that I have had here (and I have been many, many times) is really good. But their picadillo is simply amazing. I always get it on corn tortillas with a smear of beans, a scoop of picadillo, and a sprinkling of shredded pork or beef with cheese. That combination with lime and their three salsas is pure nirvana. My only regret is that they aren't on my route to work. If they were I would get breakfast tacos from them every day. Try La Cocina Taco House and then be thankful that you did. read more

Just had the BEST tacos outs there. A new taco shop operating in Spring with a whole lot of love. The owner, Mario, showcases a lot of passion for this food and is top notch when it comes to customer service. His wife, Indra (pretty sure that's wrong) is beyond sweet! I went to go pay and she said "first eat then pay. We aren't going to make you pay for something you don't like." Their menu is simple but everything looks so good! Tortillas are all made fresh to order. I had one corn and one flour. Flour one stole the show. First taco I got, it was shredded beef in a red sauce. Really good. A lot of flavor. Second one, was on flour and I had Mario choose. He went with the shredded beef mixed with onions. He added pickled onions and told me to add the green sauce. That was easily 5/5. Wish I had another one of those! The place is clean. The service is amazing. Food is damn good. I'll definitely be back! read more

Came here for breakfast tacos and we were not disappointed! They have a taco bar where you say what you want on each of your taco and they load them up for you. As we didn't know what was best on a breakfast taco, we told the guy to make what he'd want to eat. He made a selection of different combinations for us and they were fantastic! read more

Wanted breakfast taco and went for the first time. Place was very clean and had lots of regular customers as they were called out by name as they arrived . We asked what choices were and they explained what type of meat/eggs,/other choices and what was popular. Tortillas were not put to cook until you decided what you wanted to ensure they stayed warm. Food was delicious and the people working there were very friendly and proud their products. Will go again even though it is not as close to my home as I would like. That may be a good thing as I would be trying new food all the time. read more

Do you take this taco - to hold - to cherish - to eat every last bite? I do. And do you taco taste great, made fresh, with homemade tortillas? Sí I now pronounce you breakfast taco about to be devoured. Go in peace. I have been to La Cocina regularly for breakfast over the past few months. I know I should have written about it earlier, but once I start eating there --- nothing is distracting me. The food? It's is simply a tortilla, beans added if desired (even chorizo beans) then topped with filling. Amongst the ingredients there is awesome sauce mixed within. (There really isn't an awesome sauce per se, but the tacos are awesome). The experience? You walk up in line. You call out corn or flour -- I like the flour. Then you point out what you want. After the taco engineering is complete - you take your seat and just love life. The decoration is really neat! The music varies. Sometimes tejanor, sometimes mariachi, sometimes country....and so on. I love this place and will continue to visit again and again. Go check it out! read more

Great little taco shop. We got in late for breakfast tacos but the owner who was so accommodating had them make some for me and my wife. The tacos were delicious, the coffee was amazing. The best breakfast taco I have ever had! There is a big selection of things to put on your taco: various meats, beans, eggs, cheese, etc. I kept my first one simple: chorizo beans, green eggs, and cheese. Amazing! I tried some with the sausage and veggie mix and with some chorizo potatoes and they were amazing too. Too bad I moved away from this area several years ago or I'd eat there every morning. I grabbed some Posole Rojo to go for lunch and it is some of the best Posole that I've had, highly recommended. read more

Was sad to see the previous restaurant leave this location but it was filled with something better! Tried three different tacos on my first visit and all three are five stars. It was mostly breakfast fillings to choose from but I had no problem choosing. Their flour tortillas are some of the best I've had. If you're are fan of creamy jalapeño sauce, make sure to get extra. Good heat and perfect texture. Very welcoming staff and the ambiance is fresh. Good music playing but not too loud with I like. Looking forward to trying them for lunch tacos! read more

I saw Police Happenings posting about the place on FB, and the food in the pics looked pretty good, so I decided to stop by on the weekend since it was nearby. It took over the Jax near Bridgestone and FM 2920. The fillings looked pretty unique and tasty. The tortillas are house-made. Before and after I arrived, I heard about how a few people were paying for others' meals, which I thought was sweet of them. After ordering, you can pay immediately at the front or pay after you eat, if dining in. The owners and staff were welcoming. I was offered a few samples to try since it was my first time, and I didn't know how some things would taste. The red eggs (scrambled eggs covered in blended chile sauce) were fun to try and eat as they weren't really spicy but had a roasted chile/pepper flavor. The beef gland had some pieces that tasted like brisket burnt ends-like pieces and some that were more soft. Corn tortilla had a nice hominy-like flavor. For one, I added chorizo beans, red eggs, and the beef gland mix with chopped onions, cilantro and queso fresco. For another on flour, the guy in front of me recommended what I think he called the "Barbacoa Supreme", which is chorizo beans, fried potatoes and eggs with barbacoa. I added the shredded white cheese, onions, and cilantro. The tacos are added to a piece of foil, topped, folded, then placed on a plate. A staff member will take the sauces and your plate to wherever you want to sit. They offered (3) sauces in small bottles from the fridge: creamy green (mild), orange (a little spicy), and red/orange (spicier). Overall, they weren't that spicy but did have different flavor profiles. I grabbed a few later to share with family members. read more
