I had a good experience at sofy's taqueria. The food was good& the service was ok. I got the tree taco plate. The barbacoa and alpastor tacos were both really great. I liked the refried beans and rice too. Food was really delicious The ambiance & service were just ok. It was a fully outdoor taco food truck, but it was a little hot & parking was a bit limited. I liked all the seating though and the decorations. Overall, this was a good experience & the food was good. I'll probably be back! read more

Sofy's Taqueria is definitely one of the best food trucks I've had in the Spring and The Woodlands area! I'll definitely be coming back to try their breakfast tacos. I ordered the supreme quesadillas and they were perfect, flavorful, filling, and generously portioned for the price. The value here is excellent. Sofy was also super energetic and funny, which made the whole experience even better. As a bonus, there's also a cute and friendly cat hanging around the food truck that adds to the charm of the place! read more

After seeing all the good reviews about this little hidden (or not so hidden) gem in this case, I had to give it a try and see for myself and I regret nothing. The guy that takes your order is and very patient because I took my time going over the menu as it was my first time there. I ordered the steak and egg, ham and egg breakfast tacos and a fajita taco just to try a bit of everything. The tacos themselves were tasty, and the salsas they have available are very good as well! If you don't eat spicy food like that I recommend the green salsa though. The fajita was a bit on the tough side but other than that, food was really good. read more

We are here for a weekend softball tournament and I always try to find away to support a local business. I found this on a review site and said I'm going. The minute I walked up I was greeted with a big smile, I let them know I was from out of town and the next thing I knew I was giving a taco to sample! The tortillas are homemade like my grandmother's!! I have been to a lot of taco places but this one is ranked at the top!!! #1 The potato and eggs melted in my mouth. The Barbacoa taco was amazing!!! Okay, now granted, we're from Colorado/Kansas - but we have NEVER seen our fresh flour tortilla being rolled out by hand in front of us right before being freshly cooked on the grill! It totally took our breakfast experience to the next level! My husband loves a breakfast burrito filled with ALL THE THINGS. And Sofy's delivered!! Quaint, very friendly staff and their tortillas are scratch made daily. Fantastic gordita's that melt in your mouth. Saturday mornings are the best time to really enjoy the experience of a taqueria first hand. It is easy to see why Sofy's is such a nice place to enjoy authentic TexMex. read more

I was in search of a breakfast taco near the woodlands. I found this place which is not far from the freeway. I ordered 6 tacos, 2 chorizo, 2 potato and 2 sausage. The chorizo had the most flavor. You can add items to your taco for an additional fee. Service was fast and some what friendly. I was disappointed you only get one salsa (choice of spicy or mild) for two tacos... additional salsa 25cents each. If I am in the hood, I would go back. read more

Outdoor food truck with indoor vibes. The guy who runs it is always super nice and they've thought of everything for these colder days. Plastic wind barriers, fire pit and even and space heater pointed toward patrons at the truck to keep you warm while you order. This place is the definition of a hidden gem. It's so hidden that GPS takes you to the wrong location (it's one street over). If you're looking for an incredible breakfast taco and you're in the area, look no further than Sofy's. The tortillas are freshly made and absolutely delicious - they're the perfect foundation for the flavorful fillings. The green sauce is a standout - it adds just the right amount of heat to complement the tender barbacoa. The barbacoa itself is top-notch, slow-cooked to perfection and packed with flavor. After seeing all the great reviews I was excited to try out this Taco Truck. I was severely disappointed and wasted alot of money. First, the burrito had the wrong meat, which was quickly corrected...but instead of making fresh, she just scooped out the burrito and put new stuff in i leaving remnants of the other.. The burrito had very little pork in the end, was open on both sides and just all fell out. The tortillas are unbelievably thick. The meat itself was very subpar, did not taste fresh at all and the "steak" fajita tasted like and had the consistency of groumd beef. After forcing myself to eat half the burrito and tasting one of 2 tacos, the rest went to my dog. Very confused by all the good reviews...... read more

Got their loaded breakfast tacos and sausage & potato with egg are excellent, not greasy at all. The bacon strips were my favorite part. The service is always excellent. The food everything that I have had from here is so good all the time consistently. I have probably dined here at least 50 times in 16 years. And every single time it is so good. Best margaritas in town for sure. We also always get queso, the fajita is there so much that we used to get the fajitas for two and now we just got them for one because there's so much meat and the onions and peppers and you just can't go wrong at this place! Most importantly, get a margarita, the mango margarita I don't like frozen margaritas so I can get mine on the rocks usually rimmed with Tajin. The other cool thing is all of the servers expediters they help each other. I've been in the restaurant business a long time. Nothing in my eyes for front of the house then to have everybody working as a team. And if you stop someone, that's not your server and ask for something they just get it for you. Definitely try this place if you're in town. You won't regret it.

During my visit, I was the only dine in customer and I'm thinking most customers may order to go or do catering as the atmosphere just isn't very homey at all. I reviewed the menu and was originally set on ordering some dish with beef tenderloin as they have a few, but I ended up selecting my go-to, a gyro. I didn't want fries, so I subbed for the lemon potatoes. The gyro was very large and filling, and tasty. The pieces of meat were just shaved and not crispy or anything like you may receive on some gyro at other places. The potatoes were homemade and basically 1/4 potatoes, sliced lengthwise. I was so full from the gyro that I only ate one of the potatoes but didn't think it was very lemony at all. Customer service was excellent the entire time and they will even come to your table and take your plate away as if they are full service, which they aren't . I also ordered a slice of coconut cream pie, or at least that's what they said it was. It had no cream in it and appeared to be a coconut custard pie not that different than the one I make at home. It was delicious as well.

Parking was expected to be an issue as the lot is shared with other businesses in the center, but was not an issue for an early evening Saturday. But parking can be an issue at times, I was told. The restaurant is small with only tables and maybe 4-5 seats at the small bar. We arrived about 15 minutes before our 6:45pm reservation and had to wait due to no available tables, but that was not a showstopper. The noise level was moderate throughout our stay such that one could easily carry on a conversation with table mates without having to scream. Almost all patrons were nicely dressed. Since this is a Michelin acknowledged restaurant two years in a row, we were expecting uniqueness and we were not disappointed. That said, food was very good, but I would not rate it as spectacular. The blue fin tuna tostados were delightful and hands down the best dish we had. Ceviche mixto was excellent with a just a hint of heat. I would order these two appetizer dishes again. Main courses consisted of duck 2 ways, redfish with green mole and risotto, spring cavatelli, and grilled shrimp & pork belly. All were delicious and uniquely tasty with the exception of the duck. Mind you, I really like duck and the sliced portions were excellent and perfectly seasoned and moist, but the pate-like accompaniment was not that good, plus the mole sauce was not what I was expecting. Table sides of Brussels sprouts and fried cauliflower were good but nothing special. The Eton Mess with strawberries was simply delicious. Would I go back? Maybe, but not anytime soon.

I heavily debated on what to order, but ultimately went for the torta at the recommendation of Dave F. Dave did not lead me astray. I loved every bite of it. I also added rice and beans, which were also as great as I could have hoped for. And a fresh mango juice was the best thing ever to wash it all down with. Technically, this is the closest physical restaurant to my house now and I am definitely going to go back and work my way through the entire menu!

The torta was hot, very flavorful, and delicious. They had the perfect ratio of meat versus toppings. It took a a few minutes for them to make the food, but that's the price you pay for fresh. If you live in the area, there is no reason to drive into town for good food when you can get it here. If you are not sure what to order, ask Junior. He was very helpful with providing suggestions. There are still quite a few things that I want to try on the menu. I will definitely be back.
