Today is 2-17-21 . The ice storm of Texas in 2021 we lost power today. Stepped out to see if we can find food but all the lines are super long. We passed by and sofys was open, we ordered our food, and waited a short amount of time for our food. We were in and out in under 15 minutes. We ordered loaded breakfast tacos and fajita tacos. I used to love this place. The food was great, and the prices were good. However, I went last Friday, and I will not be returning. I asked for a loaded breakfast burrito (it isn't on the menu), and the guy at the window told me it was $14. Just for the burrito. I was starving, so I said ok (thinking it would also be HUGE). When it was done, he called me to the window and said "how much did I tell you it was again?" That's weird... if it's a consistent price, why did he not know how much they charge? I got the impression he just charges what he feels like at the moment. Additionally, the burrito was sub par. The tortilla was stale, most of the filling was beans, and it was the size of 1.5 tacos. I ended up throwing it out and dropping by Torchy's for a huge $5 breakfast taco. I'm all about supporting small businesses, but when they do stuff like this, they're setting their business up for failure... especially in this economy. read more

This is now in my top 3 tacos in the area. They are open super early. The food is great - everything is fresh including the flour tortillas! Pretty wide menu and a Sofy rocks it out - quick and efficient. Outside seating, pickled carrots and jalapenos. Most importantly tasty. The best egg/bacon breakfast taco I've had. I love everything I try here. I don't live close so I have eaten here for lunch and got something to go to take home for dinner. Soft is very friendly and lets me try some of the specials that she fixes up. Always a perfect time to go. This new review is towards a personal issue not the food bc she makes my favorite breakfast tacos, well her son does! So I come here often and when I say often is "very often". I go yesterday for my usual tacos and usually José, her son, is who I Interact mostly and he knows my order anytime I show up or call, like I said I go often. She was in the window, I greet her she doesn't acknowledge it then she pops back up with her pad to take my order and the 1st thing she says is " can I ask you a question" ? I said "sure" kinda like a little guarded bc let's just say it's not the first time this lady has been passive aggressive with me. She somehow feels comfortable enough to ask me if I have a drug problem bc I look like shit. All this was in Spanish. Me taken back i go excuse me? What kind of question is that? So not appropriate and who talks like that to a customer? I could've easily gone down to her level of total disrespect but decided to tell her no I just woke up but that's very uncalled for. I'm not an addict but even I know you don't talk like that to someone, not even to someone who may actually have any sort of problem, wether is drugs or any this else. That is not your place and that's just rude and inhumane. What a horrible lady dude. Sophy, I hope you read this and know you are absolutely out of line. It's Valentina you know who I am. Not even gonna lie, the breakfast tacos are great but I stopped going their because of how rudely I was treated by the older lady that cooks. I'm all for being respectful to those that are older than you but even as a kid my own grandmothers never talked to me rudely. It happened once in person, but I brushed it off. Then it happened a second time over the phone and that's when I made the decision that we'd never go there again. We had breakfast here a few times and really enjoyed it. We sampled their pork and chicken tamales for a big gathering. We were impressed so we ordered 20 dozen for our family Christmas weekend. We asked them to add the green hot sauce to the chicken and we were not disappointed. The tamales were made hot and fresh the day we picked them up. They were seasoned well and didn't skip on the meat. They also provided both red and green hot sauce with the order. They will make them in any filling you request. They definitely aim to please their customers. She also advised that she will make menudo, pozole, and pretty much anything in large quantities upon request. Was excited to check this place off my list as I have yet to find an authentic taco spot here around Houston! The outside reminded me of Austin, in a neighborhood with random homes/businesses, and this is literally parked in a driveway with some booths set up in front of the garage doors (ah, Houston and the no-zoning ). Anyways, got several tacos (5 for $11ish) and took to-go. A few salsas were thrown in the bag, which were really nothing special. Tacos were ok- the barbacoa was super super greasy and carne asade was very very dry. Tortillas were supposedly flour, but thick, and not good. The HEB bakery tortillas are 10000% better. What's not to like?!? Delicious food prepared by hand by a woman who loves her customers. This is, indeed, NOT your average taco truck. The food is fresh and beautifully prepared to order by Sofy. She has a cooler with iced-down drinks, and usually has one or two large batches of horchata and/or freshly squeezed juice - cantaloupe, mango, pineapple, watermelon - and they are delicious! There is a large covered area, so you are in the shade while ordering, while waiting, and - if you choose to eat there - while you dine. There are 3 nice picnic tables, each with a roll of paper towels and complimentary jalapeños and pickled carrots. I love Sofy's! I love their breakfast and their lunch. Sofy is so sweet and you feel like part of her family when you get there. She is so accommodating and if your there when she is slower she wants you to try ALL her food.... For FREE! Her refried beans have so much flavor. Anything you get from Sofy's you won't be disappointed. **Update** So the last couple of times we've gone to Sofy's it hasn't been the same. We don't see very much of Sofy anymore and you can tell by the food. It's not bad it's just not the same Taco stand I fell in love with. We have moved from The Woodlands to Creekside which isn't too far but it's still a 20-25 minute drive. I have to say the last couple of times hasn't been worth the drive. Finally stopped by here a couple times even though they been on my radar for a while. So far I've had: Chicken quesadilla: Big and filling, came with some sour cream and stuff on side. Cooked well, unfortunately when eating my leftovers at home found a fair sized bone, but this is home cooking from a truck so I'll let it slide. A special I can't remember the name of: 4 corn tortillas fried, filled with shredded chicken mix, then slathered with a tomato based sauce and topped with crumbled white mexican cheese and sour cream. Rice and beans on the side. Very good and filling! Both times I've eaten here Sofia (I'm assuming that's who) has been very generous with samples, first time she gave me a nice couple of portions of taco meat to try before I settled on the quesadilla. Second time a nice pile of barbacoa. I got the barbacoa because the pastor and fajita meats I sampled the first time didn't give me high hopes for tacos, they were a bit too saucy for my liking.
