    They expanded!!! 10.14.25

10.14.25 We don't eat here much but we live it when we do. The great thing about our visit today - they have expanded! Now there is more tables and space to move around. The tacos are always great and my hubby likes the hot sauce.

I ordered through uber eats and was super excited to try as i've seen great reviews on yelp as well as the photos! However, upon tasting I wasn't impressed. Immediately when I opened my tacos I noticed more potatoes than anything. I ordered 2 Taco Telge which comes with eggs, bacon, potatoes and cheese. There was hardly any bacon, eggs or cheese. The tacos were bland and just overall flavorless. The salsas helped along with some cilantro and onions but overall I didn't enjoy. I can say the tortilla was decent and I enjoyed the green salsa but that's about it.

Great food and friendly service! The tacos were fresh, flavorful, and super filling. The beef fajita meat was tender and soft, and the tacos were big. My order came out fast, but it wasn't completely accurate, two tacos had the wrong meat and toppings, and two had toppings that were supposed to be excluded.

Great food. Reminds me of home. True South Texas flavors. Just really good food. Great service and atmosphere is like you would expect in a true Tex-Mex taco spot. We just love it.

Love this place and LOVE the new expansion!! Such a great place with amazing hospitality

Oh my my my!!!!!! Let's start with saying, it's a mad house in there because these customers really know what they're looking for when it comes to breakfast, lunch, or just the tacos. So far the place is growing and their doing construction, so the ambience will be excellent in no time as they continue( they even have seating outside with fans, protecting us from this Texas heat). I was watching the service before getting to the register and making decisions is hard enough on what to really get. I got the fajitas on homemade corn tortillas and the Barbacoa on flour. Now for the owners having a tortilla lady in the back is a genus move because you want good quality food, especially every bite. NOT ONE BITE RIPPED THE TORTILLAS. That was exciting tbh. As for the meat, seasoning were really good to the fajita especially but the Barbacoa, I was really looking forward to. Not even greasy! Salsa verde wasn't too hot, so every bite was enjoyable. As for the horchata, I recommend adding some more cinnamon in it. Also I do recommend giving limes out with the tacos because that's another important ingredient. But I will surely be back and I'm coming from SUGAR LAND! Y'all are now in my top four for tacos as a foodie.

Good breakfast tacos but 30 minute wait; may have been due to Sunday Mother's Day rush. Tortillas are handmade and fresh.

My wife and I just want good quality and value with some sincere & kind service; that's all. Nothing fancy and special treatment necessary, just good old fashioned hospitality and good food. We believe we have found it this Sunday afternoon! We found them on the reviews and it looked promising so we decided to give them a try. The moment we walked in, we could tell Taco El Patron was different. The restaurant was bright, clean and very inviting with their tastefully decorated walls to their comfortable seating & table arrangement. We were greeted by a very pleasant waitress named Ashley and she and Veronica made us feel at home from the time we let them know it was our first visit to the time we left feeling high satisfied by the awesome food and first-class service. The menu was simple but gave diners many different ways to customize their food - that was a big deal to us. The chips and chicharron were delightful with their amazing bottles of superb salsas! My wife went with the asada (steak) and I couldn't decide so I asked Ashley to bring me ALL six of the selections from the special tacos section and that's what she did with a giggle saying no one has ordered all them, so they even took a photo of that massive plate of tacos and all the tasty sides! I felt like I hit the taco lottery when the platter came out and because the service was just as amazing and outstanding as the food. I had a wonderful time trying each one of the expertly crafted tacos and was so impressed with each and every bite. The prices are fair & reasonable and that's honestly a bonus since it's hard to find value for your hard earned money these days. My wife and I felt like our money was well spent and our patronage was very much appreciated. With that being said, you and your family should not waste anymore time with other trendy restaurants (you know who they are) and come to Tacos El Patron where you will hit the taco lottery like I did with amazing generous homemade style food served by a staff that treats you like family. Great Job, Ashley, Veronica and the entire kitchen crew at our new favorite taco restaurant! Check them out and tell them David & Amy sent you.

My husband ordered Al pastor and got lengua. The pastor lacked flavor. The best thing was the tripa. Although a bit greasy, it was tasty. The carnitas were good. Lengua was tender and asada was tender but lacked flavor. Not sure if tonight was an off night but the experience made me debate if I want to come back or look for a new taco spot. Ambiance was nice. Since it was my first time here, I ended up ordering 1 chorizo and 1 asada taco, churros, limon aguas, and my friend got the asada taco as well and a hortchata! Since it was super busy (especially on saturday night) it was about a 30 minute wait foe our food but it was well worth it! They hand out free chicharrones and they were super crunchy and a nice snack while we waited for our food. The limon aguas was super refreshing especially in the summer heat and the horchata was really good! We sat at the counter top that overlooks the kitchen. I love that the open kitchen concept so you can see them making your food right in front of you! Everything smelled so good so I was excited for my food. I love that they give radishes, cucumbers, and plenty of limes on the side. I definitely love all of the toppings and the more the better! I tried all of the salsas and the salsa de chile de arbol was by far my favorite! super spicy but had so much flavor. The chorizo was good but a little dry for my liking. I did just want to try it so I can try more than one flavor but I think I would get it again as a breakfast taco with egg instead. The asada was my favorite of the two so much flavor and plenty of meat! I was content with these 2 tacos but I could have definitely eaten more if we didn't order churros as well! The churros came with classic condensed milk and dulce de leche which is just carmelized condensed milk. The churros were crunchy and warm on the outside and had a chewy texture like mochi on the inside! Super yummy and not too sweet! I liked both sauces and would definitely get this again. Overall, I had a great experience and I will be craving the tacos until the next time I can come back! I can't wait to try a lot of their other menu items as well. Definitely recommend!

I didn't even remember to take a picture I just gobbled it all up. The food was DELICIOUS! And their bean soup was so good. The menu is short but includes most of the classics. I had the Seafood Tacos and my wife had the Chicken Mole Enchilada. The tacos were surrounded by a flour tortilla (corn is also available) with fish that can be grilled or steamed. Packed with flavor from the onions, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and more I enjoyed every last bite. The plate included rice, beans, and sliced red onion. Delicious My wife loved her selection as well. The serving was big enough to take home what was not consumed allowing her an extra day to enjoy the mole. We also ordered a side of guacamole which was served as a huge rounded scoop on a plank. Don't get me started on the chips we used to eat every last bit of the guacamole. When we told our waiter, Jose, how much we liked the chips he gave us a bag to take home! I had some today and they were still crunchy with a hint of salt. Now to drinks: my wife had the house Pinot Grigio and I the house margarita which I ordered frozen with no salt. The margarita had a clear lime note but did not suffer from it. All in all we agreed that Carmelita's deserves a return visit next time Mexican food is our choice.

I'd wanted to try La Cocina for a while for that reason and those plans finally came to fruition. You walk up to a counter that has all the ingredients for taco making right in front of you. The guy asks you how many you are going to want, and if you want flour or corn, so he can let them know in the back to make your tortillas fresh. About 2 minutes later, out came our tortillas. I ordered 3: one with eggs and bacon, one with some kind of egg and sausage combo and one non-breakfast taco with fajita meat. The fajita taco was just okay, but the breakfast tacos had me thinking about them for hours after the fact. They aren't very big, so if you're a growing boy like me, I'd aim for 4-5 of them. The guy behind the counter tried to guide us into his suggestion of 2 each, but I jumped in and said make it 3 for me. If I could go back in time, I would have done 4 and made them all the breakfast variety. Both breakfast tacos were straight bangers from another dimension. All the sauces were great and none were too spicy. I might have to return to this place sooner rather than later because I really did think about it the rest of the day. I love you, La Cocina.
