This was my second visit and won't be my last! The food is amazing and the service is fast. I had the flautas and they were excellent. They come 3 to an order and are served with beans, rice,a very small portion of guac and sour cream. My friend had the 1/2 order beef nachos that were piled high with everything and not skimpy like most places. Best two things of all, they have my favorite Mexican coke! And the added bonus of still having the covid plastic booth dividers up, so even on a VERY busy Friday night it wasn't noisy! Taco De Oro is a great place to go to! I enjoyed my Carne Guisada plate. The meat had so much flavor! The carrots, potatoes and meat would just fall apart when I would eat them. It was so delicious. The homemade flour tortillas were perfect. I also enjoyed my limonada. It's just like how I make it. My husband enjoyed his enchiladas. Margaritas are super tasty - i had a small mango strawberry with salt rim. Try it! We found this spot on Yelp and decided to come here based on the reviews. Walked in and immediately assisted and was sat down by our server. She was so nice and friendly. The customer service here, AMAZING! 5 stars. The water and free complimentary chips and salsa was definitely filled at all times. When we got the menu, we were served with the free salsa and chips immediately. We looked a the menu and the prices were definitely on the high side. We ordered a full order of beef and chicken nachos and 2 birria tacos. Giving this place 2 stars because the nachos.... were horrible. We couldn't even finish them. The beans were flavorless and the beef and chicken - DRY. my birria tacos were good but the roast was DRY. the flavor of the dipping sauce was definitely there but DRY meat. We won't be coming back here again. Great customer service though (a bit slow to get our food - waited about 25 minutes with maybe 2 other customers in the restaurant and our food was not hot). read more

Upon arrival I called the number listed in front of the restaurant to let them know I was here for pick up. Janette came outside right away and delivered my order. :-) I couldn't wait to get home and try it! I ordered Tijuana Style Birria QuesaTacos and I was not disappointed! Tacos were packed with meat, cheese, cilantro and onions. The tortillas were crisp but not too hard. The consome broth was my favorite part!!!!!!!!! I literally wanted to just drink it straight from the cup lol. Just forget about the dipping and sip it from a straw lol. It was so flavorful, not too spicy, filled with little chunks of meat, onions and cilantro. Ever since my trip to LA, I have been on a long search for birria tacos just like the ones from a taco truck I visited. Not trying to be bias, but I feel like these were so much better. The consommé had so much flavor, and the bits of tender meat... ugh everything was to die for. It was so good, I had it twice in one day. I have tried other places in Houston, but this place, by far is my favorite. It can be somewhat pricey... about $12-13 for 3 tacos, but regardless, I would support them. Due to Covid-19, it is recommended to call ahead of time. They are currently doing curbside pick up, and the workers are super friendly! I shared my story on Instagram, and literally had everyone drooling. I cannot wait to come back again and continue to tell all my friends and family about my new favorite birria taco place. This place is a gold mine. My wife and I have been going there for quite some time. The Birria tacos are outstanding, but the mole' poblano is really, really good as well. So are the shrimp enchiladas. The service is also very good. Tino, along with the others, are very friendly and accommodating. I ordered a breakfast burrito and the bacon, egg, and potato was really good. The problem though is the tortilla itself. It's entirely too thin and breaks apart on you. I ended up eating it with a fork which kinda defeats the purpose of ordering a burrito. Hopefully they can change that. Other than that, no complaints about the food. read more

Tonight I had made a decision about this place. It is off our rotation of places we visit. A long time ago we went and were not impressed. Then we waited years before coming again. A few weeks ago we came and I was surprised that they were actually good. But not true tonight. They have no consistency. The prices are high; 2 chalupas with fajita meat $12.99(see photo) The chalupas shells were soggy. I was able to fold them in half and eat my chalupas like tacos. Not good. The #2 plate had a 1/2 soggy chalupa as well. My husband ordered rice and beans for $2.49 PLUS they charged ANOTHER .99 to get charro beans instead of refried beans. The #2 plate with at the charges was $13.97. If you like to see what chalupas should look like- look at the photos on Las Floras Mexican(5903 Commerce St, Wallis,TX 77485)or Los Tres Ranchitos (16143 Eldridge Pkwy, Tomball,TX) After looking you will think these chalupas were very sad looking. Came here for breakfast on a Thursday, and it was pretty dead. We were seated immediately, and we were able to choose where we sat. Since it was breakfast, there were no chips and salsa (which is why I took away a star), but I was able to try it with the meal. Their salsas are very spicy, but if you ask, they do have a mild green which is pretty delicious I got the huevos estellados with added bacon and a side of cheese. Truly, I wanted breakfast tacos, rice, and beans, but this meal came with 2 flour tortillas, rice, and beans while the tacos came by themselves. Overall, it was average. My boyfriend ordered the chorizo and egg tacos. He enjoyed them very much. His only complaint is that he wanted them the chorizo to be greasier. read more
