Our table where we ate, drank and had a very good time as a family.
    Valarie M.

We arrived about an hour before close. We were starving and the day was a little too wild and it was too late to go home and cook. So we decided on this place, Romero's Las Brazas. We were greeted very kindly and showed to our seats. We were quickly served our beverages and all the drinks were cold and refreshing. We also ordered queso as our appetizer for the table and that was delicious and served in a timely manner as well. We all ate something different, but from the enchiladas to the garlic chicken and salad, everything was cooked to perfection. We really enjoyed the setting here. Not only were the food and drinks really delicious, but our waiter was very fun and positive and saw to it that we enjoyed ourselves and our meal. I recommend this place if you're ever in the area.

Best REAL Southern Mexican Cuisine!! Close to us.. I passed through it everyday and never stopped. Today I had the most Natural ingredients breakfast I ever had in the USA... WOW it feels like going to grandma to eat... I never tasted something so nurturing. Please go, and taste the difference. I can name breakfast places around here that everybody knows... but why bother... LOL. I will be back to taste the other plates they have. Romero's Las Brasas at Longenbaugh and Hwy 6

Came here on Sunday morning based in a friend's recommendation. We were seated immediately, which was a huge plus. I ordered the Especial de Travis plate and a barbacoa taco. My husband ordered the Cowboys Delight. I also enjoyed a yummy mimosa! The food was delicious! The tortillas were great, but the barbacoa was definitely the star! My husband and I were not disappointed at all. Our server was timely and friendly. Overall, a great breakfast spot when you don't want to wait in long lines in Cypress.

First pic after taking everything out the bag. We immediately knew it wasn't worth the $60 we spent.

Take heed to all of these bad reviews. I have a rule of not trying anything rated less than 4 stars and this placed reminded me why I have that rule in place. We ordered takeout from this place last week. When we arrived we were not immediately greeted. Once we were acknowledged the waitress didn't seem too excited, but she was polite. I was really craving Mexican food and was so disappointed when we got home and opened the bag. When we were leaving my spouse mentioned it felt light. I should've checked it there, because we could've gotten a refund and just grabbed food from Burger King for a fraction of the cost. We would've at least known what to expect. The only thing that was hot with the order was the salsa. The kids quesadillas was a complete failure. I've never seen anything like it. The fajitas were cold and not worth more than $10. They gave us charro beans that were clearly topped off with water. I don't know if it was the bottom and they needed to make it stretch or what. We ended up throwing more than half of it all away. The only good thing that came from this place was the margarita. We payed $60 and felt this wasn't even worth $25.00.

This is one of the worst Mexican restaurants I have ever been to. I had not been here in several years because it was always bad. But we thought we would try out their happy hour. $4 was for a margarita, it was good. Their nachos were horrible. Their chips were hard and stale. They give you a teeny tiny, serving of sour cream and guacamole. They were flavorless. The queso with hamburger meat came in a small bowl, it was fair , it may have been Velveeta, I'm not sure? If you get the guacamole and they add tomatoes, it was so expensive! It was pretty good. The service was bad. We will not be going back there, even though we could walk from our home. It has never been a good place to eat. I don't know how it has such high ratings. The band that played tonight, on Friday, was not good at all. I don't mean to be rude, but I'm just telling the truth. I have eaten at hundreds of Mexican restaurants and I can literally say this is one of two of the worst I've ever eaten at.

Romero's may not be our family's first pick for Mexican food (Alicia's is our go-to spot) but since they are a lot closer to the family's neighborhood, it works in a pinch. Especially during that rush hour Barker Cypress traffic. People mostly rave about their happy hour and occasional live music. We didn't experience either, however, the shrimp cocktail and the salsas were our top favorites. The red salsas is served hot (in temperature and in flavor). The green avocado salsa was good too. My seafood enchiladas (served with a pesto sauce) was... interesting. Don't think I'd order that again. Stick with the ceviche, shrimp cocktail, salad and queso flamiado. The empanadas were so-so. Breakfast menu offered open until 11am; until 2pm on weekends Lunch menu offered Mon-Fri 11am-2pm Menudo and pozole available on weekends. There is an enclosed dining area for private parties, USB outlets at the bar (thoughtful idea), cute decor (love the Frida tiles in the ladies room).

They accommodated us with our stroller and made it work. I am so excited that I found a farm to table restaurant where I feel like the food is good enough quality to feed my baby. We paid $50 per person for the brunch buffet and the baby was free since she is under 2. The food was delicious! They had an amazing assortment of fresh fruits, cheese, breads, salads, breakfast foods, dips, pasta, and veggies. They also had a carving station with steak and chimichurri sauce. I tried the chicken sausage, steak, beet hummus, tomato salad, whipped feta, biscuits with jam, and an assortment of the veggies & fruits. I also ordered over easy eggs and French toast which they make and bring to the table to keep them fresh but they were included in the buffet. After eating we walked around a bit to see the farm and the animals. Such a cute place for a date or a family outing. Overall, it was a great experience and I would definitely go back to try their normal menu.

The exterior is just as beautifully decorated. It's clear that chef-owner Lori Pope poured a lot of time, heart, and soul into both the menu and the store's design. The hostess was super friendly. As soon as I walked in, she gave me a warm and smiling greeting. The menu was a feast for the eyes. It had a lot of lovely pictures of the different dishes. I was ecstatic to see that there were so many vegetarian and vegan friendly options. Also, most of the dishes can be requested to be made gluten-free. Big plus. You don't order at your table, instead you go to the counter in the back and make sure to bring the sheet with your table number on it. The gal at the counter who took our order wasn't as friendly as the hostess but she was polite enough to inform us about the 15% charge. The food came out very quickly. Hopefully it's because they had a ton of people working in the back. Hopefully. I ordered the Magic Mushroom Tacos and thought it was a beautiful plate. My favorite thing about the dish is the tortillas. It had a nice light crisp to it and kept all the fillings intact from start to finish. The "Magic Mushrooms" were good but could have been better if the batter were lighter and crispier. The batter was a little on the heavy and dense side for me. I also think the sauce could be even better if it had a bit less oil and a bit more flavor. I really enjoyed the potato slices and the fresh berries were a great way to cleanse the palate. My lunch date ordered the Biscuit and gravy dish and thought it was good. We also ordered a side of the Belgian waffle to share. I thought the waffle on its own was extremely sweet and way too dense for my liking. I am happy there's a locally owned and created brunch place like Harvest Kitchen and will definitely be back to try other dishes. Note: There's an automatic 15% service charge to every order.

This is done because of the ordering process and the requirement to pay at the top of the meal rather than at the end and service was actually performed. The fact that all was done was the delivery of our order and not one check on the table to see how the meal was. They did come by and ask for the dishes, but didn't ask how the meal was. When we arrived, the restaurant was empty, and I will say our server was very nice and welcoming. One thing we immediately noticed, though, was that the menu prices were crossed out and changed. The waitress explained that prices have been fluctuating, but it did feel a little unpolished and confusing seeing gouged-out pricing on multiple items. I ordered the breakfast quesadilla, and my wife got the South of the Border omelet. We also had the roasted potatoes, which ended up being a very small portion. My main issue was that several items listed (or expected) didn't come as described. The quesadilla was supposed to come with sour cream and pico, but they weren't served on the side. We were told the pico was inside the quesadilla, which wasn't noted on the menu. Additionally, both dishes had raw, unsautéed onions mixed into the scrambled eggs. That wasn't listed in the description, and I personally don't like raw onions, so it definitely affected the meal for me. I think ingredients like that should be clearly stated. The cheese sauce tasted like standard heated nacho cheese and was very runny, not what we expected from a breakfast dish. The sour cream also tasted off. Overall, while the service was friendly, the food and menu presentation didn't meet expectations. Unfortunately, we probably won't be returning.

I'd finished my coffee before I got the scone and since a scone is typically very dry it's kinda meant to go with a drink (I mean, why did it take that long to put the scone in the microwave for a minute). I ended up taking it home to have with a home coffee. I bit into the scone and it tasted like straight-up refrigerator. Just nasty. It went straight to the trash.
