Ev car in need of a charge. This is a great place and awesome staff. I was in a bind and I was running super low on my battery and wasn't going to make it to the charging station down the road. I pulled in with zero percent and I went in side to ask if I could use there 50amp to charge my car enough to make it to the supercharger and they were all great about it and they said it was OK. They will sell you a camper quick... Great selling customer service.. But they are all talk and no walk... It sounds easy at the closing table, but when you actually live it, it does not work out the way it is explained to you. I DO NOT ADVISE BUYING ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY! If you have any repairs after the fact, go ahead and forget about them fixing it VIA Mobile mechanic.. They will only fix an issue if you physically bring the RV in. In my case, my truck is not strong enough to pull the RV anywhere.. I'm SOL with any repairs. My mobile mechanic cant even get Toppers service department to work with him.. They will not help you when you need it and have attitude when you call about an issue.. (Or maybe they just don't like me.. But still, not good customer service from a business stand point) They are also quick to tell you how busy they are in service... Even when you purchase all the additional extras to make sure your covered for issues like this. You will only get the run around and get to chase your tail after the fact.... (3+ months my issue is still not fixed) Now they are refusing to order a part my mechanic needs. I'm soo kicking myself in the butt for wasting money. I have horrible buyers remorse at this point! This is the 2nd trailer I bought from Toppers, and both experiences have been great! A couple years ago, I bought from Rene, a 2020 Wildwood 19DBXL. He took care of us, and even better, the service department was very attentive and took care of all of my concerns and service warranties whenever I needed them. Flash forward to about 4 weeks ago, and we dealt with Chloe, our new sales rep. She hooked us up with our awesome upgrade the 2022 Prime Time Avenger 27DBS, and have been enjoying it so far! The service department has continued to be responsive if I had any questions, and I have no doubt if I have any issues in the future, that they would be able to give me a short turnaround as they have proven in the past. Lastly, LeAnne from financing, took care of us both times and worked hard on getting the numbers where we wanted them. Keep up the great work guys! Took my camper there after having issues with another dealership in Houston. Spoke with Isreal who was super nice and told me to wait for Rene. Now that is where the issue is. Rene is arrogant, rude, unhelpful, callus, and honestly the ONE reason I would never send anyone to purchase their camper there. He told me "we don't work on your style of camper." I pushed back saying that Dutchmen actually recommended we see you and he said "well you know what, maybe so, but we only service what we sell, so...." "We're so busy we only work on the ones we sell" then he stopped looking near me and started to look busy for me to leave. Rude as hell. The world of camping goes by referrals and this one person who was rude will make me forever not recommend someone spending a ton on money on a camper from them. Oh and you should know, I was going to trade in my camper today too. It appears you lost out on business. Thank your rude service guy Rene for that. Update after Larry's reply Let's start with your grammar. Don't make it sound as if I "feel like" I had a bad experience. I did, like the others here, have a horrible experience. I've read other reviews and multiple people have had an issue with Rene. Don't try to make it the customers problem when it's his (your) issue. Not only is it condescending, but speaks to how customers are treated in your establishment. While I can respect the laws for campers how I was treated was horrible. There are two ways to handle the situation. How Rene did it and this way " oh I'm sorry sir, we're not a licensed dealer and cannot work on your rig. Beware.... We bought a used camper in December. They claimed everything was good to go and of course the day we picked it up it was raining and cold and parked under a roof. A week after we got it to the rv park we are keeping it at there was water coming out of the bathroom wall on the floor. Still trying to get that taken care of through the warranty people. Then in April we loose the power to half the camper. Had to have service company come out and fix that. Now that a/c has gone out. Can you say lemon?? Im ready to go park it across the highway from them and advertise lemons. This is what ruins it for people. They say its all in perfect working order and then its Crap. I called Toppers and asked if they could change out the wheels and tires on my airstream. I wanted to go from a 14" 5 lug wheel to a 15" 5 lug wheel. I've done my research. The guy from Toppers talked down to me and told me that it wasn't possible because you had to change the axles. What? That certainly is NOT true. I went to discount tires in Brenham and had the wheels and tires changed out. Definitely did not need new axles. read more

Microwave went out, called and spoke to Rafa who was very helpful. Once the new unit was in he called and scheduled an appointment. I showed up we the trailer and Rafa took it in, replaced the microwave, inspected the trailer and took not of a couple of other minor issues I had. Rafa got the minor issues corrected and had an opportunity to sell me a new drop hitch. Service personal advised that the new hitch wasn't needed and Rafa informed me. These folks go out of their way to assist you, they aren't just interested in selling you something. I would recommend Topper's RV. read more

Topper's had my camper apparently sitting on their lot for one month before even bringing it into the shop to see what needed to be repaired. This was an insurance claim, the parts had been approved, and I HAD A CHECK IN HAND, and it still took them one month to even survey the damage! Initially after dropping my camper off I dealt with Rene in service, who made me believe that he had my best interest in mind. He told me that sometimes they have to go back and forth with the insurance company "if they don't want to pay enough money" for the parts. (Side note: the appraiser that looked at our camper could not even get a call back when inquiring about parts from Topper's. He had to use another shop for the info, and verified the cost himself.) After waiting for one month, I called the insurance company and the appraiser to see if either party had heard from Topper's, and they had not. Once I spoke with Rene about this, he had my camper inspected the next day (finally) and stated that "the cost came pretty close to what the insurance paid, so we'll go ahead and work on it." So now after one month of sitting there collecting dust, the parts can finally get ordered for what the insurance company had already approved and paid for. Another note to consider is that sometimes when I called, an employee named Robbie answered the phone and if I left a message with him, I never got a return call. I should have listened to the appraiser and gone elsewhere for service. The story is not done, as I have yet to get my repaired camper back, but I have seen enough of this lousy customer service. Both men went above and beyond to assist in locating a potential leak on the front of our travel trailer. Rafa has always strived to provide good customer service as well as Israel. Fantastic had parts had service. I will say this, I went to another store twice before I found this one. Once for a converter didn't have it, went again for a heating element. I traded my Camper for a new one. Robby our Salesman took the time to show us all the campers that could potentially fit my family. When we found our best fit, the transaction went really fast. Chantal took over in Finance and made the financial part a breeze and fun. When the camper was ready for pick up, the service department took the time to show us every single angles and buttons of our new camper while the other team was installing the accessories on the new camper and adjusted the ones on my car. They even took the time to teach me how to properly hook it up to the car and set the break control box on my car. AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! My parents bought a camper from them in July 2019. It didn't get much use and when they pulled it this summer, a year later, BOTH completely blew out. These were purchased when they bought the camper. So when my dad took the two blown tires back, the manager said they were dry-rotted. (THEY WERE DEFINITELY NOT DRY-ROTTED!) Purchasing a Travel Trailer from them and have been given the run around. I don't understand these people. I Purchased it on 5-19 for a pick up on 5-28. When I arrived to pick up my unit I was told that the axles had to be replaced. They didn't bother to contact me, just waited for me to take off from work and drive an hour each way to go home empty handed. They told me that the axles would be in next week and that they would keep me informed. Long story short, Today is 6-12 and still no axles. No one calls to tell me anything and when I call I can never get the General Manger on the phone. This deal has been horrible. Now we have take time off for vacations and no trailer! We purchased a travel trailer from Topper's RV from the Houston RV show, but ours was on order and was due to arrive in "about two weeks." It did arrive in about 3 weeks which is ok, but the main issue was the poor service. They had the camper for over a week before we picked it up and it wasn't ready. It had a crack in a bedroom cabinet and a large scratch on a bedside counter top. There were some other little blemishes they would have fixed if they were preparing for the RV show but they didn't bother to fix ahead of time for us. It was as if they were not going to fix anything we did not notice. They advised the camper was ready to go, but they forgot to lock the outside kitchen door and it ripped off on the way home. So back we go and another $80 in diesel. They did fix the door but we're waiting for other parts so we have to go back again to get things fixed. We get home again and we notice one of the blinds had a pull-tie on it. We cut the pull tie and the blind falls onto the recliners. Someone at Topper's knew this was broken but they let us go home like this. Poor preparation, poor communication and poor service. Imagine buying a new car and the sun visor falls off. Topper's RV is only for people that have good luck, so buyer beware. I don't reccomend buying anything from Topper's. If you do, good luck. read more

After shopping a few places we bought our camper end of May/beginning of June from Toppers RV because we really liked our salesman, Robby. When my husband went the following weekend to pick up our camper they had prepared the wrong trailer and we were leaving town the next morning. We had paid for the Resistol protectant and added an additional AC unit to the bunk room. The fact that the bunk room was wired for an AC already was what made us choose the one we got. However, he arrives and wrong trailer is ready with protectant and AC installed. So they rush the make ready and tell my husband to let them know if there are any issues and they will "reapply" the protectant. They had 3 days to get our camper ready but they half ass it in 2 hrs then do the new owner training on a completely different RV. Then another surprise when he finally sees our RV and they have installed the new AC on the master bedroom instead of the bunk room. At that point they tell him it isn't wired for installation in the bunk room. They say they can rewire it for us for $600! What?!?!!!! They tell my husband "we can just rip up the paperwork if you want". Seriously?! I then call to talk to the GM/owner and I get a guy who says he is the owner, well his "parents actually are" but he is in charge now. He was a complete ass and zero help. This explains their HUGE customer service problem!!During our first trip we begin a mile long list of issues with the camper. The service guy, Rafe, tells us to use it during the summer and when we are done to drop it off for all the problems to be fixed. We dropped it off at the very beginning of August with a VERY long list of issues. I also took pictures of everything and put post-it notes on every problem area. I attached a copy of the problem list to the kitchen counter too so they didn't miss anything. I figured that was highly likely since they couldn't even get the correct RV ready for delivery. Now it is October 20th and they still have our camper. Every time we call there are excuses about why it isn't ready. For the last several weeks the story has been that it's all done except for replacing the flooring (huge gauge in the floor) and repairing the living room upholstery on couch and dinette cushions because the lady isn't coming due to covid. Is this the only lady in the entire Houston area that can fix this?? My husband called yesterday but never received a return call and then he called back today after being hung up on after sitting on hold then calling back and waiting on hold FOREVER. Finally Rafe answers and now "I'm trying to find another company". How difficult can this be? If we don't get our camper very soon this will be handled in a more official way. They will no longer be dealing with us on the issues. I would not recommend Toppers RV to anyone. Our experience has been a total nightmare!!! read more

I called today and spoke to Juan in parts and asked him to guide me to where I needed to go to get a replacement fixture for our 2014 Bayhill 5th wheel. He said I wouldn't be able to get that replacement because Bayhill had went out of business. I asked him what I would do in a situation where something needing replacement with warranty and he said he didn't know he didn't take care of warranty. He was so rude. I'll start first by giving credit to the sales team. Treva is what I'd expect from a professional sales person. Very helpful, knowledgeable and courteous. As first time buyers of a travel trailer we were very excited picking our trailer up. Unfortunately the person assigned to giving us the walk through didn't have a great deal of knowledge about the unit we were purchasing and couldn't answer all the questions we had to ask. Unfortunately Treva was on vacation that day and Rene's doesn't show the same enthusiasm as Treva! We took the unit home to prepare for our first trip, but found my wife had to do a lot of cleaning before we felt comfortable loading groceries and personal effects into cupboard and drawers because of a mediocre valet job. During her cleaning she found scuff marks on one of the theatre seats where the seat material was peeling off. I paid for a weight distribution hitch to be fitted only to find later after our first camping trip, research on You Tube and taking my own measurements, that the hitch was not fitted correctly. I refitted the hitch and now have a level trailer and an improved ride. We found on our first trip (Thanksgiving) that the oven would not stay lit, which put a dampener on our thanksgiving day. We also found once the trailer was leveled that the door would not latch properly. The only way to close the door was to remove the striker plate. It is very clear that the door frame/door is warped. Our trailer has been at Toppers now for three weeks, which is almost half of the time we have owned it. They made a very unprofessional attempt to repair the door which was not acceptable and a week later I am still waiting for word back on what the manufacturer is recommending to correct the issue. I find it very difficult to contact the service manager does not return calls or keep me updated on repairs. The oven has been repaired, but still waiting for repairs to the theatre seat. I wonder how much longer our travel trailer will sit at Toppers depreciating in value sitting out in the weather while we wait for repairs to be completed and get pleasure out of our purchase? Toppers RV could do a lot better with their after sales service and certainly don't get my recommendations! read more

Nov. 17th we bought a NEW 2014 5th wheel from Toppers RV in Waller TX. We also purchased a washing machine and dryer to be installed by them. I picked the camper up while my husband was at work and brought it to the RV park we're at and after a day it started raining and we noticed a leak in the bedroom at the bottom of the slide that holds the washer/dryer and bed. We assumed it was from the rain but after it stopped raining I noticed it was still leaking (soaking a bath towel in an hr!) In the mean time there were several leaks under the sink and a leak in the shower from not being siliconed properly. I called the dealer for someone to come out and fix it and they told me they did not do mobile repairs and to call the manufacturer who told me to find someone to come fix it and they would take care of the cost. No one wanted to mess with it because they were worried about not getting paid right away. (It's hard to bring it in because we live and work out of it and would have no where to stay) my husband finally got a day off and upon looking under the "brand new" trailer it was completely rusted and carotid. We were livid and that Tuesday, 8 days after buying it we brought it back and attempted to just get another trailer that was worth the $60+ thousand that we paid! The service manager acted as if all of the problems were no big deal and could easily be fixed. (you CAN NOT fix rust) Larry the GM and his son(I'm guessing) came out and were EXTREMELY RUDE and told me to "be quiet" and his son literally bowed up at me!!!!(I'm 130 pounds and I'm no threat to these 2 grown men) after feeling threatened I had no choice but to leave it there to have the problems fixed and upon picking the camper up Dec. 1st I learned the leak was from them not installing the washing machine properly so it constantly leaked for 8 days! They only replaced 1 piece of trim and the rest is all still water damaged and the carpet is still wet!!! Common sense tells me that if water sits in something that is NOT supposed to hold water there is going to be a lot more damage than just the pretty trim. Also it looks like they just took some cheap spray paint and painted over the rust under the trailer, they didn't wire brush it or anything and the shower STILL LEAKS! I'm very frustrated and I'm done trying to deal with Larry because I just get treated like I'm the bad person for being upset that our brand new camper is having so many problems! This is the first complaint I've ever made in my entire life and it's really sad that I have too. If Larry would have came out and spoke to me with respect and sincerity about my frustrations it would have made things a lot better, I understand that mistakes can be made and I'm the first to forgive and forget but after the way I was treated I'm very upset and the more I think about it the more upset I get. We are apart of a very large unit of people who live in 5th wheels and this could have been a very good opportunity for Larry because we all buy and trade often and could have sent him lots of business like we did the last dealership, but now I will make it a habit to let every company, every RV park, everyone we work with or come in contact with that is in the market for a new 5th wheel, every blog, every website and every group I'm apart of know not to EVER go to Topper's! Just yesterday after posting to my FB I have differed SIX people from Topper's. Again, sorry (I do feel bad for stooping) but you cannot treat people like that and have terrible service and expect to get away with it. read more

I had an unnecessarily difficult conversation with the sales manager here about a 2018 camper that they have listed for over 40% more than another dealership. His first reason was the freight cost of getting the unit to the dealership. After researching freight ($800) I found that there was no way it accounts for the price difference. He then shifted the reason to how much "cash reserves" they have to keep on hand for each unit sold to cover warranty work. He stated that they can't float the labor/material cost for the 60 days it takes the manufacturer to reimburse them. This also implies that a main consideration for purchasing a camper should be how much work it's going to need during the first 12 months. He issued several stern warnings about not bringing a unit purchased elsewhere to them for maintenance due to their costs incurred for doing the work. The dishonesty about pricing really rubbed me the wrong way. An honest explanation about the pricing would have led me to stop looking out of state, but I wouldn't spend a dollar here after communicating with the sales manager. Perhaps if they took better care of their prospective customers they would have enough sales and subsequent working capital to perform the warranty work. It's not just their customers who lose, but the employees in the service department as well. Edit: I just did a quick glance of the reviews below of the service/warranty work at Topper's and now the sales stance on it makes sense. They simply don't want to do warranty work on what they sell and it must be A LOT that needs to be done. read more

RATING "0" BECUZ YOU CANT CHOOSE NO "0" IF YOU WANT TO POST ON HERE! Took our Rv in on January 5,2015 for warranty work. Parts order was not even received by manufacture until March 7th. As of today, May 9th they still have not finished our warranty work and still have not "so they say" received all the parts. Manufacture responded back to me saying they were all shipped and there is no open orders now. They weren't shipped til April. The customer service at Toppers is poor or non existent! The service manager is rude and a liar. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOT PURCHASING FROM TOPPERS. WE LOVE OUR BAYHILL BY EVERGREEN but will never do business with TOPPERS again! As we stood in there today discussing their poor business manners another customer overheard and left and we were threatened that the law would be called. They threatened us with the law!!! Because someone overheard us say our Rv has been there since January!!! Waiting!!! Leaving us with out of pocket expenses on the road.. We've had experience with all different departments. Overall they were great. Everyone was helpful and made it an easy experience. Please find below a breakdown of our experience with the different groups. Buying experience: everyone was patient, thorough and made it an easy process. Service department: we had to have some warranty work done and it did seem to take quite a long time to get the parts in. The department did explain that warranty work can take longer because of the process but it was frustrating. On the other hand, one of our ac started going out 3 weeks prior to a 2 week trip. My husband called, explained the situation and that he would not be able to bring the trailer in until 2 days before our trip. They were able to order a new ac which they said would take about 2 weeks to come in and then they could replace within just a few hours. We were a little skeptical based on our warranty experience but they made it happen! When my husband got home he took it in the day before our trip and they were able to replace the ac in a matter of hours. Great job guys! Customer experience: awesome! We had an issue with a tire claim so I contacted toppers to see if they would be able to help. Toppers was able to work with the vendor to have our claim reimbursed. They were so patient and helpful through the whole experience. read more

My wife and I wanted a small pop up camper for our family to use. We found a used one online at Topper's. Robbie in sales was awesome. Great communicating via email and phone. We came out to their location and looked around. Robbie took his time with us explaining everything and showed us some other options also. In the end, we went with the used pop up camper we first looked at. It is in amazing condition. Rafa, Rene, and all the guys in the service department were amazing! We were in the middle of a purchase with another dealer (rhymes with Bledoncrond) when they behaved without integrity and we pulled out of the deal. Spending a lot of money on anything is stressful, but the thought of giving our money to people who are willing to lie to your face is intolerable. We found a similar model at Toppers and began speaking with our Salesman, Rene. He listened to our ordeal and said "I know it isn't my fault, but I'm so sorry that happened to you folks. What can I do to earn your business?" He then introduced us to the Sales Manager, Finance Officer, Service Manager, Service Tech...and the owner. Each one of them treated us like family, and we walked away with a fantastic deal on our 44' 5th wheel! These are really good people who would prefer building a relationship vs simply selling you a product. I have had my 3 Rvs repaired at Toppers in the past and they always do a great job. Rene the servive mgr.alway tell me the price of repairs and he never over charges me,like the service dept.where I brought my Rvs.I need the sales dept.to lower there new rv prices ,So I can buy my next Rv from them since I'm alway having my rvs maint and repairs done at Toppers. Best service dept in Houston and have been to alot of them in the past.. I read Paul's review on Toppers service dept and I think He is a problem customer that's why he had issues with the dealership that sold him the Rv. Be aware. We bought a camper from Toppers last month brand new. On our first camping trip the fridge did not work at all. We brought the trailer in last Thursday and were told that it was an easy problem to fix and it would be ready possibly as early Friday. This was just the one really big issue. There were several other issues that still need to be addressed as well. My husband has had to call for updates as no one has been in contact with us. We had a camping trip planned for this weekend as it is camping season. Well after today we were told they don't know what is wrong with the fridge and it is an issue different from what they originally believed to be the problem. It is now Tuesday and Topper finally decided to call LG to come look at the fridge. It has been there 6 days now. So now the earliest the fridge will be looked at is Friday. Thanks Topper. For selling us a trailer to sit on YOUR lot while camping season passes by. My child starts school this month and was looking forward to another trip! I will make sure to tell as many people as a can what a nightmare your service department is to deal with. read more

Full disclosure: I didn't buy anything because no one was interested in selling me anything. I went to pick up parts, and it seemed like my presence annoyed the guy behind the counter. After about 10 min of being ignored or passed off to someone else I left. Then I found out that they actually depend on the internet sales as their main business. Larry, if you look at your reviews you will see I'm not the only one complaining about your dealership. That so called service manager is not doing a good job and had no idea of what customer service means. I bought this RV because I work in the medical field and I travel around the country. The RV is my home 24/7 as I travel. I do understand I need to bring it in for warranty work but if I had know that is how the warranty works I probably never would have bought an RV. It's like buying a water heater for your house and having the drier tell you that you have to bring in the water heater for service. Some of that buy RVs cannot bring it in fir service because it's our home. I can only bring it in between contracts every 3 to 6 months. This is not the problem I had with your service department. Your manager isn't doing a very good job. He told me my tv would be replaced and would order a new one. I called the next day that I parked my rv into a park. He told me it would be replaced and would take a couple of weeks. I didn't like the fact that I had s brand new tv and it had a problem but now have to wait two weeks. I wasn't happy but I waited. Two weeks pass and nobody has called to tell me anything. I called and they told it hasn't come in yet! Seriously? How long does it take your department take to order a tv and get it to your store? I told them to call me when it's in. Two more weeks pass and again nobody has called. So again I have to call and see what the problem is. They told me it's not in yet. Seriously? 4 weeks and your manager can't seem to get a RV into your dealership? I asked to talk to your manager and they give me the excuse he's not available. I told them to have him call me. He never called me and I had to call back. Manager then tells me that the tv is there and I can pick it up. I waited two hours before I called back. I think someone went down to the local best buy and bought one. The tv that was in RV was a brand I never heard of and they said they had to order it from manufacturer to replace it. Well they replaced it with a Samsung which a much better tv that was in my rv. They didn't give me the box probably because it had the name of the store that they bought it from. Well I finally get the tv and get it all the way back to my rv which is 45 miles from your dealership. I want to use the stand it comes with it but guess what? Your people in service department failed to give me entire contents inside the box. This could have been avoided if they would have just given me the box. I'm now missing the stand. I called and asked them to mail it to me and they said they would. Ten days later still no stand. I have to call again and they tell me it was mailed off. I said are you absolutely sure because I'm passing your store and I can pick it up. Then they come back and say, oh no it's still here. Your service department is very incompetent and those guys are not going their job Larry. If you don't believe me you should do some call backs with people that have had service from your department. Call the people that just bought an RV and had to deal with your service department and get their experience. And when I did want to bring in my rv for warranty work I have to wait 3 weeks before I could bring it in. Seriously? 3 weeks? I called my local dealer in Fort Worth that sells the RV unit I bought and they took it in the next day. Their dealership is much larger than yours and they took mine the next day.
