This Toppers is right next door to me and I love them! I will still sometimes do delivery because they've ALWAYS gotten everything right. Delivery drivers are courteous, kind, and always come to my door instead of being lazy and just dropping it outside or at the entry of our apartment hallway. This is priceless to me because I'm recovering from a serious illness from six years back. Many other food chains have NOT gotten it right on delivery, so I simply won't order from them. Toppers DOES! Every single time and even with the COVID pandemic raging on 2+ years later. Keep it up guys - you're the best Madison has to offer! If I had one wish, it would be to add something like salads or other veggie-based options to the menu selection, but I know that's a corporate level decision and not just contingent on the individual store. I ordered 24 stix online and rather than give me the $14.99 option the guy online ordered me 3 separate orders of 8 stix ($8.99) all because I asked for half pepperoni/half bacon (which cost exactly the same). When I got there and was shocked to hear about the $30+ order (for something that should just cost $14.99), I pretty much got no help from management/staff. It was basically a brush off the shoulder "too bad" vibe, rather than an apologetic sorry or maybe we can work around this in the system etc.. etc... I get that it's late at night, and don't expect everybody to be in the best mood, but it should have been obvious that they should have fixed the order and charged the proper price since nobody with a brain would ever choose "3 separate orders of 8.99" instead of the one obvious deal. Did an online order for a pickup here purely because I love my teenage kid who really wanted a cheeseburger pizza. I registered, ordered, paid the bill and got my confirmation number, but for some reason no estimated pickup time. No worries as it's a 20 minute drive for me, so I pop in my minivan and fight the lack of masses that are here to pick up pizza orders on a Saturday night. Wait. No one? There is a guy walking out with two pizzas who eyes me in an empathetic gaze. I confuse the employee when I tell him I have an online order for Michelle. (Usually a pretty common name that isn't stumbled over). The employee disappears into the false kitchen and proceeds to ignore my order and me as a matter of fact, but I can hear the other employees working on my TopperStix and gluten free. (And that bacon cheeseburger pizza. That thing better be worth this trip). Luckily I have enough phone battery to type this review and see I'm not the only one who hasn't been impressed. After all, this man is suffering over being at work. He wasn't supposed to be there today (next time, just stay home dude. You lack the ability to care about your customers). The other three or four employees haven't complained at least, but I'm not terribly surprised to see an "accepting applications" sign. After all, I am the only customer in the entire building and have waited 10 minutes for this order without another word. I will say the store is visibly clean (a plus), there are loads of folded boxes in preparation for some orders. An empty tip jar (yeah-sadly I didn't want to add either). A few more minutes and a kind delivery person actually acknowledged my presence. The original person assisting was called again and had completely forgotten any of my information. I ordered this online, and the expected delivery time was long. I was willing to wait though. The order FINALLY showed up an hour after the estimated delivery time. That didn't upset me too much because I know businesses are busy. However, the pizza was cold (not even a little warm), the toppings were thrown on the pizza, the toppings were incorrect, the pizza was cut haphazardly, the cheese was stuck to the top of the box, and the cinnamonstix tasted stale. The WORST part is that after ignoring all these other problems, I decided to try the pizza, and it tasted like bleach or some sort of cleaner. My pizza and cheese sticks were both COVERED in hair. Not just one or two strands, but we'll into the double digits. There wasn't a single slice that didn't have hair on it. The rather overwhelmed person who answered the phone informed me that they were not taking orders for carry out OR delivery due to being "backed up". Living around the corner and down the way means Toppers has their ads up in my hood. The kid saw one while the sitter was here and proclamations of adoration for the Regent Street location Topperstix ensued. I was outnumbered and my feeble attempts to say "we have dinner here" were lost. We have carried out from this Toppers a few times in the few weeks since starting with them, so let it be stated this grub is good! Each pizza and stix has been delish! Thin, hand tossed, and stix style crust options. We stick to plain-ish toppings but exotic combos are here for the taking! All counter people are friendly. They offer plates and such too. Bottled beverages are in a case for you. The music has been late 80s metal each time. Nothing quite says "It's the weekend!" like getting off work on a Friday late night and walking in to the sounds of Skid Row cranked to 10! Or 11! You might raise your voice to talk to your peeps but you know what they say about if it's too loud... Pizza times may get quoted at 10 minutes but always ready in 7. Clean and rad comfy seats for waiting too! You can eat in gets also. Small groups up to 4 people in a party can dine in. Worth it if you want tasty treats fast! read more

I was able to track the progress of my order-- and kept getting updates that my pizza was being made, followed by a message it was ready for pickup. I drove to the location (Mineral Point Rd) and the doors were locked and the lobby was dark. There is someone working in the back, so I continued to wait 25 more minutes. The person in the car waiting next to me called corporate and found out that this location was closed because of staffing issues. I get that there's unforeseen circumstances, but there was NO note on the door to apologize or explain the situation. I would've been more understanding if someone made an effort to notify me and the three other cars parked next to me! I'm just a big fan of the Original Cheese Topperstix with ranch. Always have and always will. I'm not a huge fan of their regular pizzas however. If I wanted a pepperoni pizza, i normally would go elsewhere. The pricing is a little higher than competitors. My rating is solely based on my latest triple order of Topperstix. One of my "pet peeves" when it comes to the triple order is: the first slice or two on the outsides barely have any cheese and its like crunchy crust. Once you get into the middle slices, the cheese is like heaven and it is well cooked! You just have to wait until you get to the good stuff. (Unless you cheat and go right for the good pieces). Anyone else agree with me on that? If Toppers can figure that out (and maybe lower their prices), then I would definitely give them 5 stars! read more

So let's start out with the fact that it's my wife's birthday today and she wanted pizza. We looked at other pizza joints, but she wanted Toppers, so we ordered... 2.5 HOURS PRIOR TO OUR FOOD SHOWING UP! After an hour and a half of waiting, I finally called in. "Your food should be there in 20 minutes." said the guy on the phone. He apologized for the wait and then mentioned that they only had one driver on duty and had received multiple calls about late food. After a 50 minute wait, our food shows up... incorrect. We had ordered 2 pizzas and an order of single sticks, what we got at the door was an order of sticks and supposedly MY pizza. The driver checked his car for my wife's pizza and came back with a comp pepperoni pizza, (which wouldn't work as my wife is vegetarian), which we declined. We opened the boxes and found that we had received the topperstix and HER pizza, (dang, should have taken that pepperoni pizza). Oy vey, what a night. Long story short, this is poor management. I like Toppers. I like most of the Toppers locations I've ordered from. I try to judge businesses by how they handle mistakes, since everybody's going to mess up sometimes. That said, I will never order from this Toppers location again, even for pickup. Short as possible version: Order plain wings at 11:38 PM, delivery guy arrives 10 minutes sooner than predicted, yay. Sit down, open box, wings have TONS of sauce on them (I don't like it, and this stuff also causes me crazy heartburn). Not yay. Call, ask for redelivery because I tried to eat 'em and couldn't. Same guy shows up with new box, I open it, it's cheese sticks. He tore out of my driveway as soon as I took the box, but I managed to flag him down before he completely got away. Gave back the cheese sticks. He said he'd be back. Cut to 3:30 AM. No chicken, no sign of the guy, no phone call, no offer to refund. Called the next day, they told me they couldn't refund a credit card after the close of business the day of the purchase, which I have never heard of anywhere else. Can't help but notice they kept me from asking for a refund the night before by telling me they'd send me the right order and failing twice. They refunded me in cash. First, without the driver's tip that I'd originally written down included, then the rest when I pointed out how much my credit card had been charged. On a separate occasion, they sent my roommate a tallboy with no sauce in it. When she called to ask for a new one, they told her a tallboy typically only has sauce on top (no it absolutely does not), and sent a hand-tossed as an "apology." Not once have I ordered a tallboy and gotten what amounts to round Toppers Stix with a sauce drizzle on top, so I don't know what they were trying to pull there. I used to love Toppers when I ordered from them repeatedly at their East Washington Avenue location. Had the misfortune of being forced to move out, and moved to Middleton. The Mineral Point Road location has repeatedly brought the pizzas only.
