Pretzel bites: the pretzels were perfectly stiff on the outside and soft inside. The cheese was....meh. Honestly, I wish the cheese has more flavor but overall a decent appetizer. Mac and Cheese Donut: delicious!!! Social house sliders: they were good, if a bit basic. I realize that we got the happy hour menu version so next time I want to try the menu version because they're very different. Buffalo chicken thighs were great. Lots of Buffalo and lots of flavor...Watch out for the bones though. Short rib tacos were on point. Love those! Arancini were tasty, tender and flavorful. We sat at the bar so service was great with the bartender engaged and keeping us happy. We will be back to explore this menu some more!!!

Civility Social House in Somerville!…read more This place is a vibe. Nice atmosphere and decors. Drinks were delicous and strong. Food is 9 out of 10. I recommend the Mac and cheese donut with bacon, yum! Lollipop thighs with a buffalo sauce and blue cheese (they could use a little bit more seasoning. But still great!) Short rib tacos were flavorful and light. The screaming rooster shrimp were okay. I'm not big on battered fried foods. But if that is your thing, then these will be for you! But the star of the show was the cookie skillet with pecans! no explanation needed for that. Lastly, service was on point. Our waitress was very attentive and super friendly and funny. They seated us as soon as we arrived and the service was attentive and very fast. The music was a tiny bit loud inside and the lighting was very dim but once we adjusted easy to carry on a conversation and see each other. We started with the potato biscuits with french onion butter and they were fantastic. Crispy, not too dry, and the onion butter was super flavorful. For my main I got the ritz cracker crusted chicken. Their serving sizes were very generous! Huge, crispy, and served on lots of creamy whipped potatoes. The smoked pork Mac and cheese, red beans and rice, and pasta special were also enjoyed by my family. The burger my grandfather ordered had a burnt bun, but that was the only disappointing aspect. Would definitely return!

Ritz Cracker Crusted Chicken: Thin fried chicken with mashed potatoes and this sweet pepper sauce almost like a sweet and sour sauce. A bit of an odd combination with the sauce.

If you have ever had a veggie burger and didn't like it, it was because you didn't eat here…read more To be honest there aren't a lot of vegetarian dishes that taste good for me, but everything they have here has been amazing. I say this because I have been here multiple times and everything I order or the people who are with me order, has always been amazing. Sometimes they have outdoor seating and we always sit outside if seating there is available, but this time they hadn't setup the outside yet, but they had plenty of seating for 2 inside. Another thing I mention on all my reviews is if a restaurant serves you water when you sit without asking. Well here they do and they were following our glasses as we were sitting. This is definitely a place to go to even if you aren't vegetarian.. actually especially if you aren't so you can find out how good some vegetarian dishes can be. The only downside for me is that I don't live in Cambridge or near by, but there are plenty of cheap parking garages near the restaurant and my favorite Korean grocery store is there.

The service was good, but it did take a bit to get seated and get our food as we were a large group. There was also a miscommunication for some people in our group as the kitchen ran out of some things and only told them after they ordered and were waiting. I ordered the grilled chicken Rasta pasta (which was a special for the week). My sister ordered some soup. Both were delicious. The portions are GIGANTIC so I would maybe order something smaller next time, but man that pasta was delicious. The "chicken" was perfectly fried, and the pasta was well seasoned. I would maybe add a bit of heat by it that's a small complaint. I love this place, and will be back next time I'm in Boston!

We ordered through uber eats; it is only available through a delivery food app. We got our order so fast and when we took the lids off the containers, the mac and cheese was still so hot, it was steaming! We got the original mac, the spicy mac, and an order of homemade chips. The original mac sauce was out of this world! It was so creamy and so delicious, I will definitely be getting it again. The spicy mac came with crushed chips and crackers to sprinkle on top. The mac was okay, the sauce wasn't too spicy but it had a flavor that I wasn't a huge fan of. When I order again, I want to try several of their other kinds of mac. We also got the homemade chips, and they were seriously one of the best homemade chips I have ever had. They were so crispy and thick and had the perfect amount/flavor of seasoning. Getting a side order of the chips is a must!

We decided to order two types of mac and cheese on a Saturday night in December for takeout. I noticed upon following The Mac Bar on Insta that they were offering the perfect mac combo right up my alley- meatball mac! Upon looking at the menu, I did not see it as an option (with the extensive list of other ones!) I DMed the Mac Bar's insta and within 20 minutes not only had they responded to me, but had also changed the menu so you could order the meatball mac. We ordered online- my boyfriend ordered the buffalo mac and I opted, obviously, for the meatball mac. The pickup was easy and prompt. Both macs were amazing. The portions were ginormous (we had leftovers for lunch the next day) and the packing kept the mac fresh even when we drove it home. The buffalo mac had a great buffalo flavor with delicious breaded chicken on top. It comes with blue cheese normally but we requested it on the side. The meatball mac was awesome- the meatballs were flavorful, the pesto drizzle was a delicious touch, and the mac and cheese was creamy and savory. I think sometimes with all the combinations of flavors created with mac and cheese you sometimes lose the taste and quality of the actual mac and cheese, but this was definitely not the case here. The mac and cheese was still the star of each dish with each add on as a nice flavor booster. Fantastic customer service, heaping portions, and honestly the best mac and cheese I've had in Boston- hands down. The Mac Bar will be a new staple in my take out rotation for sure!

We got the veggie don and the saba miso set to share. Both came with a bowl of miso soup and were filling-but-not-stuffed portion sizes. We walked into a fairly small space tucked away in Porter Square, with more of a functional, casual feel rather than a polished dining room. The seating was tight and the room filled up quickly, making it clear that this was the kind of place people go for a quick, filling meal rather than a long sit-down experience. The standout here is definitely the Japanese curry and katsu combinations. We ordered the pork tonkatsu curry, a go-to for many, and found it came with a thick, crispy cutlet served over rich curry sauce and rice. The curry itself leaned comforting and slightly sweet-savory in a way that felt very classic and approachable. The portions were generous for the price, and the hamburg steak and oyakodon were also solid options if you wanted something different from fried cutlet dishes. The food came out hot and well assembled, and the flavors were consistent with what we were hoping for. Service was fast and handled by a very small staff, so things moved quickly once we ordered. Because of how busy it can get during peak hours and how limited the seating is, there was a bit of a rush feel to the experience. It worked well as a quick lunch or casual dinner, but it was not really a place to linger for long. The seating situation is probably the biggest drawback. It fills up quickly, and the space feels tight, especially when there is a line forming. That said, the turnover is fast enough that you usually do not have to wait too long, even when it looks crowded from outside. Overall, Cafe Mami is a reliable spot for Japanese comfort food in the Porter Square area. The value is strong, the portions are generous, and the curry dishes are consistently satisfying. It is not fancy, but it does exactly what it is meant to do well, which is serve quick, filling, and comforting Japanese meals.

I came here after work with some friends looking for a quick meal, and the menu looked really satisfying, so I went for it. I got the pork katsu curry in a medium, which was a good amount of food for $14. It took about five minutes for my food to be ready, and it was definitely worth the wait. The curry had a subtle spiciness that made it flavorful, and it came with cabbage on the side. The katsu itself was cooked perfectly, and I loved how it paired with the curry. The employees were kind and answered all of my questions. As for seating, it's set up like a food hall, so there's plenty of space. I was with four other people, and we had no trouble finding a table together. The service was good and the person taking my order was patient while I determined which bowl looked the yummiest. It's a fast-casual spot so you pay when you order and they'll call out your order number when it's ready. The chicken and the egg were a little drier than I would have liked, but taste was still decent. For a place with "curry" in the name, I would've liked more curry. The sausage and tempura shrimp were good quality and my favorite parts of the whole dish. There's lots of people coming and going as it is a supermarket, but if you're just looking for a quick stop meal before/after your grocery shopping, Go Go Curry is an okay choice.
