Veggie Galaxy has been on my list of restaurants to visit for a while. My boyfriend and I stopped in for dinner and got some plates to share. The food came out very quickly after we ordered and the waitress was quite nice. The food was very good. The mac and cheese itself was delicious but the "pepperoni" was very plain in taste. I would definitely get the mac and cheese again, but without the pepperoni. The sandwich and burgers were also very good. You get a lot of food for what you pay for so it's a great place to go if you're very hungry.

Veggie Galaxy completely blew me away. I'm vegetarian (and usually pretty picky about vegan substitutes), but this place nailed every single dish we tried. We came for brunch and ordered the vegan eggs Benedict, a chocolate chip pancake, the vegan biscuits and gravy, and their wild vegan chicken sandwich that uses mac-and-cheese waffles as the "bread." Yes, it's exactly as insane and amazing as it sounds. The vegan Benedict was rich and comforting without being heavy, and the chocolate chip pancake was perfectly fluffy with just the right amount of sweetness. The biscuits and gravy tasted like true comfort food--super flavorful, no weird aftertaste that some vegan gravies have. But honestly, the mac-and-cheese waffle chicken sandwich stole the show. It's one of those dishes you try once and immediately start planning when you can come back for it again. Service was friendly, the vibe was super cute, and the whole menu is creative in a way that doesn't feel gimmicky--it's actually delicious. If you're in Boston and want vegan brunch that goes way beyond "just okay," Veggie Galaxy is a must. I loved it.

My partner and I have gone here so many times we've lost count. It is easily our favorite restaurant. We would recommend this place to anyone. Great service, great food, and a cool diner vibe. Ps. Try the Mac and cheese bites, they're delicious!

One of the top vegetarian spots I've eaten at. Lots of options and combinations are insane. Had: Far east with chicken (9/10) Pesto Chik'n Parm sand (10/10) Carrot cake (7.5/10) Chocolate Chip cookies (6/10)

Had an amazing brunch here last weekend with my family! We had a pretty large group that included a couple of kids and thankfully they do a fantastic job of catering to children's tastes. There are truly dishes for everyone here! And even better, everything on the menu can be made vegan, with many vegans default vegan. We started with some loaded fries for the table, which was such a hit. We all couldn't stop raving about the homemade vegan queso sauce which was so creamy and luscious along with the meaty bites. The waffle fries were very crispy and perfectly salted. I ordered my go to stuffed French toast which is such a fun and unique dish with its decadent cream cheese filling and covered in a lovely berry mixture and airy coconut whipped cream. I also tried some of my niece's Nutella waffle which was spectacular. Their homemade hazelnut butter is so rich and chocolatey, I never would have guessed it was vegan! Since I wanted something boozy, I got a their boozy frappe which was a mixture of sherry, coconut ice cream and chai spice. It was so decadent and left me feeling warm and gleeful! We also got a cake to go, which was fittingly just as amazing as everything we had at the diner! The service was so friendly and prompt! The ambiance was also lovely with classic diner booths and was comfy and cozy! Parking was pretty easy at nearby meters and there's some public lots a couple of blocks away!

We came here to try their vegan food. This place serves eggs and dairy cheese, so it's vegetarian, but it appears that anything can be made vegan. We got the Mac 'N Stack with potato salad and the Buffalo Chicken Burger, substituting with fries. It was served well and tasted good! This place is essentially a veggie diner, which was cool. The restaurant staff were attentive and friendly. There is plenty of seating inside and there appears to be a patio area outside as well. Although we didn't get dessert, we saw others get some and it looked awesome! (Confetti cake!) I would recommend this place.

Came hungry, ate down. The vibe is crazy space vegetable go on an adventure to become meat - basically fun old space diner ambiance!! So fun! The bathroom is a really unsettling bright green so don't come here for the bathroom come for the food, though it was clean dw - service was so nice and they were all very friendly!! Gave us good suggestions for our indecisive group so that was helpful, was lit epic and they were so chill with us sitting for a whilee, a must go if you are veggie or not veggietarian! After all our meat eater friend (who literally eats a stack of 20 ham deli slices in every meal) enjoyed the fake meat to good extent!

    Braised brisket and latkes

It has been a few years since I went back to Veggie Galaxy. In that time new owners, menu and staff. Walking out I yelled to the kitchen "Betta than ever". Service which used to be pokey was speedy and polite, especially by Boston standards. Drinks came out quickly and perfectly. The tea I ordered was loose and in a tea ball and the water was just hot enough. Appetizers were Brussel sprouts, well grilled and yet not over cooked. We also got the tator tots that were amazing -- crispy! I had the Blue Plate Special, a Chanukah plate -- braised brisket (really seitan) with two latkes and veggies. I could have eaten 6 of the latkes. My son had a veggie burger and devoured it. The ambiance was professional but chill. Very Cambridge -- in all the good ways. Better than ever -- do go early as they do not accept reservations.

    Buffalo fingers or something

These buffalo chicken finger things are the best. Would have went back the next day if it hadn't been for my schedule. The fact that it's cruelty free just makes it better. Will come back my next trip to Massachusetts!

My vegan husband stopped by for a "life changing vegan cheesecake slice" and said they were so friendly we had to go back. So glad we did! Eric was indeed so friendly. And the food was amazing. I loved my green omelette and my husbands cauliflower tacos were so yummy. Cute interior and great vibe. I'd be a regular if I lived here.

Banana pancakes (short stack), seitan sausage, and blood orange hibiscus iced tea
    Christine Hemler S.

What a find! Veggie Galaxy has the best banana pancakes - Jack Johnson would approve. They were fluffy and crisp on the edges and served with caramelized banana and whipped coconut cream. No syrup needed. Just what I needed after an early flight. My server Hannah was great, and she turned me on to the seitan sausage (made in-house). Slightly dry and definitely better while hot, but well-spiced and tasty. Highly recommend whether you're vegetarian/vegan or not!

Super crispy fried oyster mushroom Tuesday special

This is a place that I keep coming back to over and over again because I want to get excellent food when I spend my money. Veggie galaxy has knocked it out of the park with this Tuesday Fried Clams (oyster mushroom) special. I've come in a few times as a solo diner and I'm quickly seated and welcomed with a glass of water and a menu. The first time I came here I tried the Banh Mi blue plate special. It was incredible. I was so nourished and I enjoyed every bite. The slaw was perfect and the sandwich blew me away. The next time I got veggie Galaxy, I got takeout for a cauliflower po boy. Which is the dish I kept coming to try but I got distracted by other awesome options. The cauliflower po-boy was spicy and crunchy and so flavorful even after a 45-minute car ride. The slaw is really good and I would not suggest subbing it out for something because it's not too sweet and it's very juicy and it's very crunchy and you get that nice fiber boost of the cabbage. What I really love about veggie Galaxy is it isn't trying to be healthy. It's trying to be amazing. And it totally succeeds in being a stupendous delicious experience. The establishment itself is very clean and you can tell that the owners are present and the managers are working and people are happy. I think maybe the up charge that you pay for an establishment like this where each dish is $17 just about is that you pay for happy staff and a good place. 10/10 would recommend all the things I've tried. Banh mi. Cauliflower po' boy. Fried Clams (oyster mushrooms). I absolutely will be coming back over and over and over again. And also I like being a solo diner here because there's other solo diners and I can just journal.

We walked 20 min in the rain from our visit to Harvard to come here, and it did not disappoint! Service was quick and friendly at 5 pm on a Sunday and started to get crowded by 5:30 but there is plenty of seating. The diner vibe was spot on. We loved the cauli po boy sandwich. The portobello melt was good too. The side of potato salad was perfect. I wish we could try everything on the menu! They charge a 5% "Kitchen Appreciation Fee" It's definitely not a whole food option but a fun treat once in a while!

The spicy mac came with crushed chips and crackers to sprinkle on top. The mac was okay, the sauce wasn't too spicy but it had a flavor that I wasn't a huge fan of. When I order again, I want to try several of their other kinds of mac. We also got the homemade chips, and they were seriously one of the best homemade chips I have ever had. We decided to order two types of mac and cheese on a Saturday night in December for takeout. I noticed upon following The Mac Bar on Insta that they were offering the perfect mac combo right up my alley- meatball mac! Upon looking at the menu, I did not see it as an option (with the extensive list of other ones!) I DMed the Mac Bar's insta and within 20 minutes not only had they responded to me, but had also changed the menu so you could order the meatball mac. We ordered online- my boyfriend ordered the buffalo mac and I opted, obviously, for the meatball mac. The pickup was easy and prompt. Both macs were amazing. The portions were ginormous (we had leftovers for lunch the next day) and the packing kept the mac fresh even when we drove it home. The buffalo mac had a great buffalo flavor with delicious breaded chicken on top. It comes with blue cheese normally but we requested it on the side. The meatball mac was awesome- the meatballs were flavorful, the pesto drizzle was a delicious touch, and the mac and cheese was creamy and savory. I think sometimes with all the combinations of flavors created with mac and cheese you sometimes lose the taste and quality of the actual mac and cheese, but this was definitely not the case here. The mac and cheese was still the star of each dish with each add on as a nice flavor booster. Fantastic customer service, heaping portions, and honestly the best mac and cheese I've had in Boston- hands down. The Mac Bar will be a new staple in my take out rotation for sure!

That still remains the same. The thing that has decreased is the overall set/up organization of the place making it a not so pleasant dining experience. Our most recent visit was on a Friday night. We decided to stop without a reservation as we were also considering heading out of the city after an event and the place was closed to our parking garage. My partner inquired about wait time and he was asked if we had a reservation. Since we did not have a reservation, we were informed that wait time was over 1 hour or longer. I decided to check Open Table for reservations and saw that tables were available so I booked it. We were seated less than 10 minutes later. They had their usual great variety of options and we proceeded to fill our bowls with choices. Produce was fresh and there was a lot fresh protein selection that was frequently replenished. Place was super busy on the first food area and the second was practically empty so we got our veggies and grains from the second line. Meantime the line for the first line remained super long even though the selection on both ends was the same. Floor area around food and grill area was super sticky. Proceeding to the grill area was absolute chaos! there were people waiting outside the grill area with their bowls and there were not being directed where to stand. In past visits, we had seen a staff member directing traffic and the line. People did not know where to go and there were people asking the workers on the grill where to stand and people cutting the line. I overheard people complaining that they were waiting 20 minutes. I am unsure if that was an exaggerated time but the only way we got our food on the grill was by asking the grill staff. As for my food, I got food items that I did not select. I imagine that was from the food cooking next to mine as they were so close together. I also got some charred grill items maybe from stuff being stuck to the grill too long or something. Grill workers worked hard but I think where the process was lacking was in a lack of leadership to direct guests and also the team so that food didn't burn. It seemed like they wasted resources unnecessarily. At one point, I saw someone that appeared to be management stepping to help with the grill. Rather than doing manual labor while they had so many grill staff, they might have considered organizing things in a different way to make the process smoother. There is a difference between a noisy/energetic environment which this can be and a chaotic place with guests literally pushing each other for space or making room for their friends while others waited for room behind them. 'm not saying I won't be back but I'd like to wait and see if these problems are fixed before returning.
