Mac & Stack (seitan chicken patty, tempeh bacon, mac and cheese waffle bun) DELICIOUS!

Food was absolutely delicious! Location is decent, with meter parking, the restaurant gives 1950's diner vibes! Service was slow, I will admit. The host was sitting down chatting with the cooks a lot before she even noticed I was waiting to be seated at the podium and ended up being my server and I had to flag her over for a Togo box, napkins, and my check because she kept being by the cooks talking, hence me giving 4/5 stars because if that weren't the case, it would've been Aced by the food hands down! I ate every last piece of food even after I took some home because it was somewhat of a big sandwich. Overall, I'd return but to take my food to go.

A fantastic vegan diner experience, with delicious food and excellent service. Seating was in booths or at a bar, and everything was clean. I loved the diner / space theme, and they managed to really pull it off. We went on a Tuesday night, around 7pm. They were busy, but we were seated quickly & our food arrived within 15 minutes of ordering. Our server was friendly & attentive, but didn't hover. For drinks, I got a Chocolate Martini (heavy on both the chocolate & the etoh--incredible), and my parter got the Bloody Mars (he gave it 3/5 stars). For entrees, I HAD to order the vegan Mac n' Stack, a ridiculous (but delicious) chicken sandwich with mac & cheese waffles as the bun. I ended up eating it with a knife & a fork (because it was so tall I couldn't fit a bit in my mouth), and I can't emphasize enough how amazing it was. The coleslaw it came with was creamy and paired excellently. My partner got one of the vegan eggs benefit, made with their vegan egg replacement. He liked it (gave it 3.5/5 stars), but agreed that the Mac n' Stack was the best thing we tried. We were so full that we couldn't try out their desserts, but I know we'll be back to get some of the cheesecake (and also, of course, to try more of the sandwiches!). Overall, this was everything I want out of a vegan dining experience. The vibe was so fun--didn't feel the food was both classic & creative, and they had so many amazing options. Can't wait to come back!

Veggie Galaxy is always a win. Every meal here feels comforting and reliable, especially with how many eggless options they have, it makes ordering so easy. Tried the pancake for the first time and it was so good. Light, fluffy, and just the right amount of sweet. Pro tip: order a savory dish and add a single pancake on the side for something sweet. Best of both worlds. Staff is friendly and quick, and the food is consistently yummy.

Veggie Galaxy completely blew me away. I'm vegetarian (and usually pretty picky about vegan substitutes), but this place nailed every single dish we tried. We came for brunch and ordered the vegan eggs Benedict, a chocolate chip pancake, the vegan biscuits and gravy, and their wild vegan chicken sandwich that uses mac-and-cheese waffles as the "bread." Yes, it's exactly as insane and amazing as it sounds. The vegan Benedict was rich and comforting without being heavy, and the chocolate chip pancake was perfectly fluffy with just the right amount of sweetness. The biscuits and gravy tasted like true comfort food--super flavorful, no weird aftertaste that some vegan gravies have. But honestly, the mac-and-cheese waffle chicken sandwich stole the show. It's one of those dishes you try once and immediately start planning when you can come back for it again. Service was friendly, the vibe was super cute, and the whole menu is creative in a way that doesn't feel gimmicky--it's actually delicious. If you're in Boston and want vegan brunch that goes way beyond "just okay," Veggie Galaxy is a must. I loved it.

I came to Cambridge just to go to Veggie Galaxy! I've been vegan for many years & am so delighted at their extensive menu of plant-based options. Really yummy teas & drinks too. Everyone is very nice - servers are kind, diners are happy to be there. I hope every city aspires to satisfy the vegan / vegetarian as well as Veggie Galaxy consistently does!!!

Veggie Galaxy has been on my list of restaurants to visit for a while. My boyfriend and I stopped in for dinner and got some plates to share. The food came out very quickly after we ordered and the waitress was quite nice. The food was very good. The mac and cheese itself was delicious but the "pepperoni" was very plain in taste. I would definitely get the mac and cheese again, but without the pepperoni. The sandwich and burgers were also very good. You get a lot of food for what you pay for so it's a great place to go if you're very hungry.

One of the top vegetarian spots I've eaten at. Lots of options and combinations are insane. Had: Far east with chicken (9/10) Pesto Chik'n Parm sand (10/10) Carrot cake (7.5/10) Chocolate Chip cookies (6/10)

My partner and I have gone here so many times we've lost count. It is easily our favorite restaurant. We would recommend this place to anyone. Great service, great food, and a cool diner vibe. Ps. Try the Mac and cheese bites, they're delicious!

We came here to try their vegan food. This place serves eggs and dairy cheese, so it's vegetarian, but it appears that anything can be made vegan. We got the Mac 'N Stack with potato salad and the Buffalo Chicken Burger, substituting with fries. It was served well and tasted good! This place is essentially a veggie diner, which was cool. The restaurant staff were attentive and friendly. There is plenty of seating inside and there appears to be a patio area outside as well. Although we didn't get dessert, we saw others get some and it looked awesome! (Confetti cake!) I would recommend this place.

It has been a few years since I went back to Veggie Galaxy. In that time new owners, menu and staff. Walking out I yelled to the kitchen "Betta than ever". Service which used to be pokey was speedy and polite, especially by Boston standards. Drinks came out quickly and perfectly. The tea I ordered was loose and in a tea ball and the water was just hot enough. Appetizers were Brussel sprouts, well grilled and yet not over cooked. We also got the tator tots that were amazing -- crispy! I had the Blue Plate Special, a Chanukah plate -- braised brisket (really seitan) with two latkes and veggies. I could have eaten 6 of the latkes. My son had a veggie burger and devoured it. The ambiance was professional but chill. Very Cambridge -- in all the good ways. Better than ever -- do go early as they do not accept reservations.

Had an amazing brunch here last weekend with my family! We had a pretty large group that included a couple of kids and thankfully they do a fantastic job of catering to children's tastes. There are truly dishes for everyone here! And even better, everything on the menu can be made vegan, with many vegans default vegan. We started with some loaded fries for the table, which was such a hit. We all couldn't stop raving about the homemade vegan queso sauce which was so creamy and luscious along with the meaty bites. The waffle fries were very crispy and perfectly salted. I ordered my go to stuffed French toast which is such a fun and unique dish with its decadent cream cheese filling and covered in a lovely berry mixture and airy coconut whipped cream. I also tried some of my niece's Nutella waffle which was spectacular. Their homemade hazelnut butter is so rich and chocolatey, I never would have guessed it was vegan! Since I wanted something boozy, I got a their boozy frappe which was a mixture of sherry, coconut ice cream and chai spice. It was so decadent and left me feeling warm and gleeful! We also got a cake to go, which was fittingly just as amazing as everything we had at the diner! The service was so friendly and prompt! The ambiance was also lovely with classic diner booths and was comfy and cozy! Parking was pretty easy at nearby meters and there's some public lots a couple of blocks away!

The first time I went here, I was blown away by how many amazing touches from salad dressings to potato salad and of course the desserts or anything that I've tried before. Now have been back a few times have tried The "fried clams", pumpkin pie, and my favorite go to the Rachel. This last time I went for the Thanksgiving dinner, which was kind of a miss, because they ran out of cranberry sauce and gravy. Which to me vegan or otherwise is a dealbreaker. I don't know if it was the holiday rush, but I found the gentleman greeter to be kinda condescending. And if it wasn't such an effort for me to get there, I would've walked out. Also I don't appreciate them adding a tip on my receipt. It's kinda like them charging me for excepting a credit card for payment. Which goes against the BI-LAWS for excepting credit cards. READ YOUR RECEIPTS BEFORE YOU SIGN OR ADD TWO TIMES THE TIP. ( Shady)

One of my favorite places to bring out-of-town guests for a decadent and filling vegetarian meal. Breakfast all day, smoothies, burgers, and more are all excellent! They even hold your luggage for you while you dine.

I'd heard Waverly had one of the better burgers around, so when a friend was visiting for Sail Boston, we made the short trip off the more traveled streets to see if it lived up to the reputation. I'm glad we did. Waverly is tucked away on a quiet side street in Charlestown, and that's part of the charm. The dining room is small, warm, and comfortably lived in. Nothing about it feels manufactured. The decor has an old soul without feeling dated, almost like it has been there longer than it actually has. Later I learned that's intentional. The restaurant takes its name from the historic Waverly House, a grand Charlestown hotel from the 1800s, and was designed to capture the feeling of the neighborhood's historic brownstones rather than chase the latest restaurant trend. The room felt like it belonged to Charlestown. Most of the people inside looked like they could walk home after dinner. That's the kind of place I always hope to find when visiting a neighborhood, somewhere that serves the people who live there first, and everyone else second. We asked for a window table, and the staff happily accommodated us. It's a small gesture, but one that made us feel welcomed instead of processed. The burger justified the trip on its own. I added the sunny-side-up egg, but the real star was the bacon-onion jam. It pulled everything together without overpowering the beef. The burger itself was tender, the sesame brioche somehow managed to hold everything together, and I appreciated the choice of Vermont white cheddar and Grillo's pickles. Those aren't flashy ingredients, they're just the right ones. Seeing Downeast Cider on tap certainly didn't hurt either. What impressed me most wasn't that Waverly was trying to reinvent the neighborhood burger. It wasn't. It simply executed it exceptionally well, with enough confidence to let good ingredients and thoughtful choices do the talking. Charlestown wouldn't just lose a burger if Waverly disappeared. It would lose one of those neighborhood places that quietly makes a neighborhood feel like itself. You come for a well executed meal, but you leave feeling like you've experienced a small piece of Charlestown. Places like that are a lot harder to replace than a good menu.

I really, really, REALLY wanted pancakes. The website said brunch goes until 3. We get there at 2:50. They said they were no longer serving brunch and they've moved to their limited menu, because brunch ends at 3. You can imagine the puzzled look on our faces when they told us it ended at 3pm but it's still 2:50pm. They said we would have been fine if we were 5 minutes earlier. Weird that 2:45 is fine but 2:50 is not. We were annoyed, to say the least. But we were hungry, we didn't know what else was around, we needed to eat, and it already took us 30 minutes to get here in an Uber. Two guys came in after us, also before 3, who were also really excited for brunch. They too were shut down. We ordered off the limited menu. It was okay. It was fine. But that's not the point. If brunch ends at 2:45, then say it ends at 2:45. Don't say it ends at 3pm and then shut people down because it secretly closes earlier. I get that you guys want to switch the kitchen over and prep for dinner, but serve the food you say you're going to serve at the time you're going to serve them. Nobody came in after us and the other party that was also in before 3, so it's not like there was some never ending rush of people trying to get brunch. I also don't recall anyone else coming in before we left probably an hour. Poor communication and poor customer service.

Huge shoutout to Eduardo, the manager, who went above and beyond to make our sisters holiday outing feel special and intentional, and to our server Paulina, who was attentive, warm, and truly wanted everything to be perfect. And it was. Let's talk ambiance first because whew. Chic. Stylish. Aesthetic on aesthetic. Even the walk to the bathroom felt curated. Ladies... the mirror alone deserves a moment. Full body selfie approved. Now the drinks. The mocktail I had was SO good. Balanced, flavorful, refreshing. I like a mocktail that has flavor and layers without being super sweet. The apps thoughhhhhh! They deserve their own paragraph because baby... The crab rangoon was TO DIE FOR. That old school wrap dough situation? I have been hunting for that exact texture and flavor forever. My fave restaurant switched dough and I haven't had a good Rangoon since then until now. It was crispy, nostalgic, and perfect. The fried egg rolls? Delicious. The pickled cucumbers? Bright and refreshing and er literally ate every drop, lol. But the WINNER... those fall off the bone ribs. I might have made a sound when I bit into them. Cooked to perfection. A full blown flavor party in my mouth. The scallion pancakes were the only thing that did not hit for me. The dough was thicker and heavier than I prefer. I love mine light and airy like traditional scallion pancakes. If they leaned that way I would have been obsessed. My other sister loved the dumplings and even more that they fried them for her instead of serving them traditionally. And the sauce with those dumplings... Let me tell you about the sauce. I am OBSESSED. I took some home and Eduardo generously gave me more to take. That is top tier service and an at home sauce party, lol. My fried house rice was excellent. The mix of veggies and flavors was perfection. With everything else we ordered I could not even finish it. And then... dessert. Eduardo and Paulina surprised us with a complimentary cheesecake that was so light and decadent, topped with fruit and homemade whipped cream. Next time I am absolutely saving space for that. The customer service was truly top tier. The decor, the food, the staff, the background music. Everything PERFECT. My sisters and I sat for hours. We laughed. We ate. We shared emotions. But it was super clean and had a genuine, chill vibe. To my surprise, every single person there -- from the staff to the patrons -- was incredibly friendly and warm. It caught me off guard how kind and attentive everyone was. The service was EXCELLENT , and I'd easily give five stars for both cleanliness and hospitality. As for the food, it was okay. I ordered the calamari, and it was decent. I should have tried the spice bag because the folks seated next to us ordered it and it smelled delicious! The espresso martini was absolutely bomb, and everything coming out of that kitchen looked and smelled great. The service and atmosphere made the experience memorable. I could definitely see myself going back for a couple of drinks or to catch a game -- especially because it felt good to be treated with such genuine warmth in a space where I didn't necessarily expect it. I think our server was Samson, maybe, and someone else served us, I didn't get his name- but thanks for your hospitality.
