TopGolf is a different type of driving range where the golf balls have computer chips, and this allows you to score points based on how close your shot gets to the pin. You can keep score and try and beat your friends as you practice your golf game. This technology driven gold range is located about 25 miles west of our hotel in San Antonio, Texas. This place also has a full menu and bar with servers to deliver food and drinks to your table. I went here on a Saturday evening in end-December for a party with several friends and fam we had a good time. I had a fun time at this attraction and golfing actually made the work party much more enjoyable. We were also able to order drinks and eat from a small buffet they set up for us. The food was surprisingly good, and I really enjoyed the quesadillas, gourmet nacho & cheese and brisket grilled cheese. My expectations about the food were low but I really enjoyed the food. They also have two TV's in every golf bay and we watched a basketball game and a hockey game while waiting for a turn to hit some golf balls. It got a little chilly so we turned the heat lamps on over our table (others at the party did not know about the heat lamp and got a little chilly). You do not have to be a pro in golf to have fun with your family. Everyone can play, not matter your level of golf. The friends & family enjoy a lot, because everyone can win points in the system when you play, so even the rookies can beat the pros hehehe!, because the field has different marks to get points. Even those who do not want to play have fun in Topgolf. The environment is great for a night out with the friends & family. The food and the service is not the best (for this reason I do not rate it 5), but food is not the main issue in this place to have fun. In the night the field has illumination with different colors for each mark. Lot of flat screens everywhere, so you do not miss other sports in TV. I really recommend Topgolf Spring. Overall, I had a good time at TopGolf and recommend it (especially for a birthday or work party). read more

The truth of the matter is you're going to spend no less that $50 to hit a bunch of golf balls. This is just an EXPENSIVE driving range! You need a membership to track your scores, which (at first) we tried to circumvent, but it's just no fun not being able to see who's winning. They do offer discounts to military and LEOs. All that being said, we had a great time on our visit- I did, especially, because I beat the pants off of my family! My disappointment with our visit was with our "bay attendant". She came and asked if we'd been there before. We told her "no" and all she did was key us into the computer. Then she left. We were literally standing around like that meme of John Travolta in Pulp Fiction wondering what the hell we were supposed to do next. I watched as our time started ticking down and called over some official-looking guy in a red shirt who explained it all to us. "Thanks, not-our-bay-attendant-guy!" We were off and swinging. It was fun trying to hit our targets and our waiter was attentive and kept us hydrated. We're definitely going to return, and thankfully- next time- we won't need a bootleg bay attendant to assist us. read more

This place is absolute crap. Their pricing is through the roof. 80$ for 4 soft drinks and a redbull. Speaking of redbull their menu says $4.50/each but they charge us 19$ for one. We used the app to save a reservation time since it was a busy Saturday. When we arrived, we were told we didn't have a reservation because I booked it at the wrong location. After showing the manager my reservation (hoping he could help me not get charged for not showing up at the other location), he moved us to the top of the list and we only had to wait a few mins. Staff at the front desk was extremely helpful in helping finding a manager to get this resolved. He later found us and told us that he spoke with the other location and he explain the circumstances and they said they would remove the charge. The manager went beyond to help us with our circumstances and I appreciate it. My only problem wait service. Although she was very nice, she was hard to find. Our drinks went empty quite often. It took 30 mins to find her to order our food and another 45 mins to get it. We only ordered maybe 3 drinks each in almost 3hrs (and I had to go get her for the third since we hadn't seen her in approximately 20 mins since they went empty. That was quite a loss of money on their part because girls were driving and guys were drinking that night. read more

Booked a reservation for 7:30. Arrived at 6:45 because of traffic. "We can't seat you until 7:15 because you reserved it." And there is no way to start early even if there is an open bay mind you - and the hostess said it was "slow" tonight. Sit outside in the 100degree weather for 30 minutes and walk back in at 7:15. I was at TG Grand Opening so I know what to expect! Today I took my 26 year old son who is visiting like I have for the last5 years. From the time we got to our bay the service sucked! I think our servers name was Jay (hard to understand him) My son who has been served numerous times at TG did not have his wallet with him but had a picture ID. Our server would not serve him but TG did when he was 21 without ID. Our time was running out and our server said he had to extend our time not us like we have in the past. Near the end of our time an Operations Manager appeared in our bay and tried to make my son and I better about our "experience" scripted and completely transparent to say the least! My Son visits me once a year and we always go TG. Your server and the so-called operational manager ruined our TG visit. Absolutely terrible experience. I am a Platinum member. Although there is no priority in the weekends, I was quoted 2/12 hours for a bay. We left and returned at 2 1/2 hours and a bay wasn't ready for over another hour after. The staff of little girls is incredible rude. They need to have some customer relations training and learn how to speak properly to customers. I will be cancelling my platinum membership and advising that no one go to Top Golf ever. read more

After not being to Topgolf since 04/2019, I finally swung by with family on Sunday afternoon. We were not able to make reservations in advance, and arrived around 1pm so needless to say, they were quite busy. We were told there would be an hour to hour & a half wait which was perfect because we needed to go grab a bite to eat. We received a text about an hour later which is your 15 minute warning to get back over there if you want to keep your reservation. I did notice that at this point, the sign said there was a three hour wait which we definitely would not have stuck around for. We got settled and our server, Stefani, came by to take our order. I want to just take a moment to thank Stefani for being an absolute wonderful server. She was friendly and attentive to our needs and made my younger sister the most delicious virgin martinis (strawberry or mango options - both were very tasty!) which we definitely appreciated. When her shift ended, she took the time to introduce us to our new server, Gibby, and fill him in on what we were drinking. Gibby was also very friendly and on top of all of our needs and the combination of both their phenomenal customer service throughout our entire visit truly made the experience wonderful. The game itself is an absolute delight despite none of us being any good (hard truth). They added a new Angry Birds game mode which gives those challenged at golf like my sister & I a chance to actually compete, ha! I appreciated the covid protective screens between each bay and have to say this is the first place I've been to in a while that made me forget all about the pandemic and allowed for us to just enjoy being out again. Finally made it out to Topgolf, but only for dinner! Loved the drink & food options! That and the set-up was definitely worth 5 stars! I had the veggie burger and nachos. The veggie patty was on of the best I've had filled with beans, corn and flavor. It was well balanced with lettuce, avocados and red onions. The nachos were super yummy! There's this interesting chimichurri sauce that they top it of with and it brought a wonderful taste out. Really appreciated that the quesadillas and nachos were both served with guacamole, pico de gallo, and sour cream. Drinks were made to our liking. Moscow mule was perfection! However, our service was subpar. We were greeted with menus shortly after we sat at the bar and then nothing for over 10 minutes. After many blank stares to every server who was in our vicinity, the bartender finally took our order. (There was only 1 other gentleman at the bar. Maybe 2 tables in doors.... I would think it to be a slow night.) Interestingly, I still enjoyed the experience but did not appreciate the lack of customer service. After a warm greeting at the door and seeing so many servers hanging around the bar area, I was shocked. I can't get enough of this place (as you can tell by my many check-ins). It's a great place to bring the family, have a date night, host a birthday party, happy hour...or just for the hell of it. I like that they are open until midnight. I'm, more often than not, found here on a late night after work, taking out my stress on a few golf balls. I like that they have such an interesting twist on your classic driving range. Definitely makes it more interesting and competitive. ;) It's not just the fun I come for though...I actually enjoy the food very much. Their ahi stack is my favorite, though I will say it's not as enjoyable on a cold night. I found that the bottom layer of rice once cold is quite gross actually. The chips and salsa are pretty decent, and the guacamole isn't so bad either. The brisket grilled cheese was good and I enjoyed the tater tots it came with as well. (Especially when I dipped them in their queso. Healthy...I know.) If you have room for injectable donut holes at the end of your meal, just know they come highly recommended by me!!! If you are coming with the family, I recommend the 1st or 3rd floor, because there is more to do than just hit balls. Jenga, cornhole, Xbox, foosball...I'm sure I'm missing more, but you get the picture that there's quite a bit to do. Apparently there is a difference in service from the bay to the bar. Don't sit in the bar to eat. Service is terrible. We were completely misinformed and ultimately ignored. Update - The manager came over to "apologize " and said he will take care of our. dinner bill. When he came back to check on us 15 minutes later we asked if we are good to go. I really don't get this. It was mobbed and people were having a great time. Our company rented out a major space so I (woo hoo!!) didn't have to pay for anything. I don't have a grip on what the food / drinks really cost, but it seemed to be high. The golfing I didn't really get. It took me perhaps a round to understand how to play it and how to score well. It wasn't intuitive and the hostess/assistant ran thru us so quick I couldn't finish a nacho. Probably to get to the next team. Your results may vary, but if you aren't into golf, don't play it a lot, etc. - you may have better results trying a different place. If you do play golf and go to the driving range, totally dismiss my review and go read someone else's. I hope they steer your straight. read more

Update: Came today with the family and had a blast! Katrina greeted us and showed us the ropes while setting up our membership cards. We golfed, ate super food and were taken care of by Kristen, a super attentive and sweet hostess. After, we relaxed a bit on the lower level and played a bit of tabletop shuffleboard, then headed to the very top level for a game of "bags" and Super-Huge Jenga. This place is great and caters to the entire family! Looking forward to spending more time here! Absolutely love this place! We had a birthday party here over the weekend and since the bay was not ready, the kids could go downstairs and play on the XBox, pool, and various other activities. I must say that i probably had a different experience then most people because I went there for an event that involved the San Antonio Spurs. The players visited with all of the guests. I love Top Golf! You do not need to know a single thing about golf or have any talent whatsoever to have a good time. You just hit balls off the bay and if it lands in a circle you get points! There are other games available if you have talent or are an expert golfer. The clubs they have are alright- if they are really worn the handle grips are super sticky and leave your hands black. Each bay has either a couch or table setup, with overhead heaters for the rare cold south Texas days. There are TVs also in each bay playing sports. There is music playing overhead and it is all sorts of good music (think JackFM). There is a full menu with everything from appetizers to meals to desserts. There is a full bar and beer on tap as well. I just wish there was more of a selection of craft beer on tap. The atmosphere is excellent for the whole family- from young to old. You can even show up and not play any games. There is a rooftop patio, pool tables, and an inside bar/restaurant area. Definitely a cool place to check out read more

Top golf is usually a fun outing. We went today for our 11 year olds birthday. First day the kids are out of school. We reserved a bay for 7. The parking lot looked packed but once inside it did not seem nearly as crowded. Our service was good. We did have to motion the waiter over a few times for drinks and water. Well, I was a having a good time until the service assigned to our area disappeared, who I had given my credit card to... to open a tab with. When I finally managed to flag down a server and make a drink order, I wait 20 minutes, go to the bar to make the order directly, I see the guy I gave my order to, he tells the bar staff he put the order in and then tells me he wasn't sure why it didn't go through... apparently it's too much to admit you just forgot. Flash forward about an hour... same forgetful server comes to me, hands me my card, and says it ended up in the lost and found... confused at this point I call a manager over to help me understand how my credit card ended up not in the hands of a server or the bar and to verify the charges on my account, he comes back with a receipt with every drink we ordered... surprise... really no service recovery at all... left a very poor impression of the staff and management. I went to check in and they said "your bay will be ready in an hour" uhm what?! the text I just got said 30 more mins. they got an attitude with me and said "no that means you opted out of your spot and you get 30 more mins until we take you off the waitlist. When you said you needed 30 more mins you got moved down to the bottom of the wait list". what a joke! send out a text stating that!!! so now here we are almost 2 hours in waiting with our kids. if they weren't so rude and explained it nicely to me instead of acting like Aholes then I might be a little less upset. read more

This place offers a great time of entertainment, food, and sport. TopGolf has crisp facilities and the Guest Services are polite & friendly. At each bay that a group can golf at hosts up to 6 people and has their own waiter for service. When we go, we usually play for an hour. The prices for an hour for up to 6 people varies from costing $20.00 to $40.00. Usually we order a pitcher of Stella Artois, which runs about $20.00. Just a heads up, if it is your first time, once there you will need to purchase a "Lifetime Member" card, which runs about $6.00 per person; it is a one time purchase that can be used repeatedly in the future to identify yourself and keep track of your games. Also - there are clubs at the bays for use already, but if you are left handed, make sure to ask for "leftie clubs" before you head out to play at your bay. read more

More fun than bowling, in my opinion, TopGolf stylishly accommodates group hangs in a top-notch facility that offers a large bar upon entrance, 2 pool tables + multiple sectional sofas at lower level, and gaming consoles in various upper lounges... all inviting, bright and naturally lit, Texas-sized yet cozy. Expansive windows line all 3 floors of the building, keeping golfing fun forefront. And as said in other reviews, it's indeed more game than golf here. The cool thing about TopGolf, however, is that its target-oriented setup -- what with each bay's personal computer and TV -- makes for excellent practice, attracting everyone from skilled golfers to amateurs to families/kids to buddies needing a few swings and beers. On Mon/Tue/Wed/Thu before 6 PM and Fri/Sat/Sun before noon, $20 will get you [and your party] in for an hour's worth of golfing. From 6 PM onward (Mon-Thu) and noon onward (Fri-Sun), $40 will get you in. This is when coming with up to 5 other people benefits you (i.e. each bay allows 6 golfers); costs split, a single person need only pay ~$7, plus $5 if not already registered (e.g. non-photo ID for lifetime TopGolf membership), plus however much for food/drinks once settled in. Checking in with the concierge will get you seated at a 1st/2nd/3rd floor bay, fitted with either outdoor sofas or a table/high-top + seats, a computer, and a TV. Your server(s) will take drink requests shortly after, followed by food. Let me start off by saying , the fun we had playing was awesome ! For all ages and for all levels of golf enthusiasts! Now on to Service !!!! I was extremely disappointed with the registration process for my nephew and girlfriend . We sat and waited for a good 10 minutes before someone came and assisted us with the new card registration, my recommendation is get this up front when you check in, may make the experience faster and not take away from your game time . Drink refills were few and far between , however after 2 hours of golfing (or swinging aimlessly) we ordered a final round and did not extend time on the bay. This however had someone at our bay very quickly. Asked us if we wanted to extend , we declined after two hours in the Texas heat . He closed our tab, (which was not cheap, but we somewhat understand the value ). To our disappointment, another waiter came and said if we needed help setting up , said no we are wrapping up and finishing our drinks (that we just received). He said , this bay has been reserved by someone else and we will have to move. Normally, I would understand turnover and need to not have lingering patrons . However , We just closed our bill, and we really just trying to finish up prior to leaving. The reason I mention the price , is I don't feel for the price we are paying that this is acceptable treatment ! It was a messed up ending to what would have been a great celebration with my brother . Word to the wise , pay the 15.00 extension on the bay and avoid this cluster at the end of a good birthday or what ever occasion you are celebrating. Topgolf is fun. It's essentially a driving range where you are electronically scored for accuracy. Mercifully, it's not in direct South Texas sunlight, or else there would be casualties. It's low pressure unless you go with jerks. I imagine there are some people who do. The staff is incredibly nice. I went to this Topgolf due to a corporate "going away" for one of our senior officials. I don't have much in the way of golfing talent so I went out to hit the ball as long and as hard as I could, without concern for accuracy. It worked. When Topgolf first popped up in San Antonio near my house, I thought to myself: What is this abomination?! It's a bit unsightly from a distance. But so much fun is to be had inside! When we got to TG on a Friday afternoon around 4:30, we were able to get a bay immediately (after purchasing our $5 membership cards). They don't take reservations so I was bit worried about the wait time, but I think we were able to beat the crowd. I didn't hold much expectations for myself, as I have not golfed since 8th grade P.E. class. But even though I wasn't too great, I had so much more fun golfing than I thought I would! Of course the real fun was my company, drinking, and eating. :) The golfing experience was set up to be super user friendly; the computer keeps track of each person's score, and you're able to hit as many or as few balls as you want per turn. There are different games to play as well, so if your party has some really good golfers, you could try one of the harder games to make it a challenge. Although I wouldn't give the food five stars (probably a 3.5) it was still enjoyable. Their menu is pretty diverse, and there's plenty of snack and shareable type items that are great for this kind of place. It is a bit pricey, but if you're coming to Topgolf, just expect to drop quite a bit of money. We tried the chicken and waffle sliders (just okay), the cheese fries (can't go wrong with those, and it's a pretty good amount!), and some burgers. They also have great drinks, and we were able to share a couple of premium buckets for $25. That's really not bad considering they had a Lagunitas IPA and a Real Ale beer. For less than $5 a bottle, I'm not complaining. Their mixed drinks looked tasty as well, and my party ordered the pineapple express - which was so good! Overall, the experience was a great one. Very fun entertainment the entire family can enjoy at Top Golf. This place can get busy as it was when I went. I tried to be the crowd by going at 4pm on a Saturday, but I was wrong. We had a 45 min wait for a booth. The wait was comfort as there were lots of areas to hangout until the booth was ready. This was my first time experiencing Top Golf and I really enjoyed it! I went on a Friday with a group of six around 7 PM and it was over a two hour wait!!! I tried calling ahead earlier in the day to try reserving a spot for a birthday, or even placing our names on the waist ahead but it's always first come, first serve. They do have quite a bit to offer for those who are waiting: a full bar, several HD TVs, X-Box kinect, pool and a few other things. So at least there are options while waiting. They also have a full kitchen with their own menu, and it's actually very good! I tried the Mushi which was a Hispanic twist to sushi, and I liked it a lot! Very flavorful! My other friends got burgers, or sliders and those looked really good too. We also shared one of their fishbowl drinks $30 for four people and it was strong! I recommend it to share with friends and you get to keep the cup! We also all shared the donut holes with all three flavors of filling and these were definitely worth it!!! They were so good and fun to eat because the flavors come in syringes and you can fill up your donut hole with whatever you want, so it's super easy and fun to share with a group since it comes with about 24 donuts! This one I really recommend! Finally, almost three hours later we got a slot to play golf! This was actually really fun, and it's super cool playing at night when it's all lit up, it's just a cool atmosphere in general! You can choose different types of driving range games to aim for different things and you play on time. So between the six of us for an hour and a half it was $10 on a Friday after noon. Overall I had a really good experience. I just think the food and drinks are definitely over priced and you get stuck buying it since the wait is so long, which is the other thing I didn't like. We spent more time waiting to play golf than we actually spent playing. But the entire atmosphere as a whole with the food and games was really good and I do recommend you to check it out, maybe go before noon for their specials and cheaper pricing! read more
