I am SO glad that we brought a Topgolf into Birmingham. While there is a decent amount to do here, Topgolf was a nice addition. Unfortunately, because it is so popular (because it is brand new...to be expected) it is difficult to just walk in and expect a bay open right away, especially on weekends. I have been to Top Golf a many of times and not always wonderful service but never bad. Tonight has been one of the worst experiences I have ever had at a restaurant/ Top Golf ever. They got my appetizer wrong twice. The got our food wrong and it took 40 minutes to get our order right. I ordered a pitcher of beer and it was hot and we never received any cups to drink it. We waited 20 minutes for a box for our food. They table sat down beside us 20 minutes after we had ordered and they were paid and done before we even received our checks. I would suggest anyone wanting to have a good night with friends, family or whomever to spend it elsewhere. I will not be back for a long long time if ever! read more

I give this place 2 stars simply because after complaining to the manager he gave us a couple discounts to make up for the terrible service. We sat down at a dirty table hoping someone would come by to clean. 20 minutes later I asked the bartender for a towel to clean the table. He kindly offered a towel for me to clean myself. We had to order drinks and food at the bar because NO ONE ever offered to wait our table, we served ourselves and our food never arrived. We stayed at that same table for one hour with no help. I asked for a manager who NEVER showed up. When we went to our bay there was no one to help us there either. It wasn't until a young man named Gerald came and assisted us that we were actually taken care of. He then was able to get a manager to come and help with our terrible service. DO NOT go to this Top Golf. My family and I had the worst experience ever at this location. We were told the wait to golf would be 2 1/2 hours so once our names were on the list we decided to find a table to eat. Instead of being told where to sit they told us to find our own table. After we seat ourselves we had to flag down and find our own waitress. No one could find her after 30mins. After we located our waitress we proceeded to order food and drinks. It took us 1 hour to receive water for my family and I. We were unable to locate our waitress for so long we had to flag down several waiters just to get our water. After that I located a manger and was told that they are too busy and our waitress was having a breakdown. We then waited another hour for food and only received half of our order correctly. Management was all over the place and so were the waiters. Service was horrible. After all that drama I went to check on my golf bay to see if it was ready. Then I was told that my name was never in the computer. So if I had never checked to see if my bay was ready, they would have never told me and I would have had to wait even longer. We had to wait even longer for them to get the golf bays together. We have been to several other locations like ATL and Las Vegas that are great but this Birmingham location is horrible. read more

Unfortunate first experience, didn't even golf, husband already says he won't return. We went Friday night at 10:30pm just to check it out. First of all, it is a beautiful facility. We walked in were told it was a 45 minute wait for golfing. We decided to go to the bar downstairs. We found two seats at the bar and waited about 10mins. It was crowded and very loud, so after no bartender coming over, I went and asked the girl at the front podium if there was another bar. She said there was one upstairs, so we went up there. We wanted to see it anyway so that was nice. Also, the girl couldn't tell us any info about how Top Golf worked, but pointed me to some brochures by the door. We went upstairs and noticed people more or less hanging out in the bays and not many actually golfing. The upstairs bar had plenty of seats and we were able to get a drink within a couple minutes. However, it was very loud with music that is not our taste at all. It was more hip-hop rap. Not top 40 stuff, but songs I had never even heard. It would be nice to have music that could appeal to everyone mixed in. So, after one drink, we left. It was more of a hang-out place on a Friday night rather than a golfing venue. It was a fun and clean atmosphere though, and maybe we will try again during the week or during a day. However, not our type of crowd late on a Friday night. read more

Booked a reservation for early 2021 for two bays as a gift for my father. He came down with covid and we had to cancel. They would allow me to reschedule they said but now my family members concerned with social distancing and unwilling to go play top golf during pandemic. I called them on 11/5/21 to see what was possible since still in pandemic. They said I could book for anytime in 2022. Emailed me this week (February 2022) and it seems they changed their mind on allowing all of 2022 to reschedule and said I had to book an event now by March 2022. I understand the deposit is non-refundable so asked for the deposit amount to be given to me on a gift card instead so I could use it after pandemic. Said they could not do that. I don't understand why gift card option not available- most companies more than willing to work with you in a pandemic. I am out $150. Top golf wasn't meant to be. I may have dodged a bullet by avoiding that place all together. read more

Great venue! Loved the concept and had a blast playing with some of my best friends. Food was good but had the worst waitress in all my 42 years! Have lived in 4 different countries and been all over the world enjoying restaurants. Cannot believe she would have made it though the hiring process and if so, would have made it another week at a place managed like this. Hadiyah P. was our waitress and it truly was a horrific experience. It started with the miscommunication from the bar to waitress. Our bay was ready the same time our food was arriving. After giving our bay number and paying for our food, we thought the food would be sent up to our bay. WRONG!!!!! Only half of the food we order arrived. We had to work with our waitress for next 30 minutes to try to track down our already paid for food that was ready to eat. Guess what was never offered after the food arrived....SILVERWARE OR NAPKINS. You would think with us order 4 orders of wings that would of have come to her mind. But no, it didn't. Wait it doesn't stop there. Our waitress spilt 2 FULL GLASSES OF WATER all over my Father and Step Mother in 50 degree weather. My Fathers shoes where so soak it forced him to cut their time there short and now his shoes are ruined. But wait there is more. After all this, which has occurred in 1 hour we were trying to cut my Birthday cake. And she came back to our bay to tell us we need to leave because they needed to flip the bay. ALL I WANTED WAS TO EAT A SLICE OF MY BIRTHDAY CAKE and OPEN A PRESENT. I am honestly so mad at the costumer service we received. Top golf more like bottom golf. I have been to Top Golf several times, invites friends and had parties here but after this experience I will no longer be doing so. Bob Wands stepped in at the very end to help, but the damage had been done. Our favorite part has to have been when our waitress said, "... I don't understand what has gone wrong." I don't know Hadiyah... If you literally don't understand what went wrong, I don't know what to tell you. My Birthday was ruined. First time visiting. Waiters/Waitresses were amazing. Food was delicious. However management was inappropriate and needless to say lackluster. Perhaps instead of talking to other managers in red shirts for 15 minutes about vitamin d or whether an employee has completed training in front of customers they should run the floor ensuring customers are happy. Topgolf is always fun. The game itself is great but the food and service here were lackluster. I understand it was busy But the waiter was hard to flag down and when my drinks finally arrived 20 minutes later they were sub par (haha) All the food is overpriced and the wait times for both food and a bay (despite there clearly being 5 empty bays on each floor ) are long. I have had better experiences at the Huntsville location. The drinks and waiters are much better there. read more

This is literally my first yelp review. The service inside was that bad. I came with a large group and it was a nightmare. Being from Vegas, I understand and respect the service industry, but this was tough. I've been to other Top Golfs and was happy to come when it was suggested for our large group. We needed food before golfing so we decided to sit inside. Wrong choice. We didn't even make it to golf because our food took over an hour to arrive, drinks were left unfilled or didn't even show up. It wasn't until we became upset an hour into waiting that a manager comped a few drinks. Very disappointing... we travel a great deal as a group and will not make this mistake again. read more

Birmingham has to get some other things for their citizens to do. 3 hour waits on a week night is crazy. And 4-5 during the weekend is even more ridiculous but expected if you don't have a life. The food is typical bar food but extremely over priced for the value of the food. Drinks are expensive. A beer is $6. When you can by a case for $8. My review is concerning the food. The food and the service was horrible. The dining area is a seat yourself which is acceptable for the type of environment, well upon sitting myself we sat at a dirty high top table for about 20 minutes just to be stared down by servers without being acknowledged. I finally decided to move, closer to a table where I saw a server cleaning the table in hopes of being acknowledge. Another guest said, it was good that you guys moved we sat their and waited forever and no one ever came over. Finally, someone acknowledged us! She took our order, I ask for lemon and water she stated I can give you water, but you don't want our lemons they're slimy and sloppy, (Ok first RED FLAG) so I said just water would be fine. As, I placed my order I requested that my burger be cut in half she stated "Oh, they're probably not going to do that" (Second RED FLAG) I think it's ridiculous that you can't get what your money is paying for. About 40 minutes later she came over and said sorry we're back up and because you guys had burgers it takes a lot longer. 2 minutes afterwards, another server brought out our COLD food, the tater tots were cold my burger and eggs were COLD. The server NEVER return to ask how was the food. I finally ask for napkins just to be told they don't have any. Their FOOD service is a JOKE . Please don't waste your time and money. read more

I've been a fan of top golf for years, I even frequent the one in Atlanta so when I recently moved to Birmingham I was excited to see a top golf. First visit was terrible took 15 min for bartender to even acknowledge me and my friends...I shrugged it off and decided to try again however this time I waited almost 20 min...when someone finally came by I had to ask for help and I was told I hadn't been helped bc everyone was cleaning...however it was midnight and they don't close til 2am on a Friday night! Very disappointed in the service here...I sure hope they step it up...guess I have to go to Atlanta for good service at Top Golf...so, I decided to edit my review since I was finally able to get service. I ordered a medium burger which came out extremely well done. Being in the industry myself as a regional manager I usually don't like to write negative reviews but this visit took the cake. I like to give shoutouts for good service and it takes a lot for me to give poor reviews. I am reviewing this business not because I've been there but because I see some serious issues with their reservations and unwillingness to be flexible with parties or large groups. If you want to reserve multiple bays, you will NOT be seated side by side. YOU MUST reserve a party which ALL MUST include food. So you're looking at $400 or so at least. In my opinion, If you reserve early enough and particularly if you pay the reservation fee, you should be able to have side by side bays. It shouldn't be that hard. I was told multiple times that these are the "policies and procedures", I think these should be reconsidered because it makes it too difficult for people to support. Another issue is that reservation fee is way too high for it not to come off the total. If you want to encourage people to reserve in order for it to run more smoothly, maybe reduce the cost. read more

I love the Top Golf franchise as a whole and being in the airline industry I've visited several. By far the worse one is here in Birmingham when it comes to the service at the bar. I've been here by myself and even with my team that I lead. The service at the pods and tables is great no issues there. However, each time I sit at the bar even when it's only a few people no one acknowledges you until you've been sitting for almost 8-10 minutes. I understand it gets busy but when you are putting up glasses and can't even acknowledge I'm sitting here until almost 10 minutes later that's ridiculous. I actually pulled out my phone to use my stopwatch it was 8 minutes and 27 seconds before someone even spoke. There were a total of 8 Customers sitting around the bar of which all had full drinks and food besides me. I don't usually write these but hopefully someone will read this and be able to make some changes in the bar tenders mindsets. Just to be clear it wasn't just the crew that was working tonight around 6p. I've been in here when others have done the same thing. I arrived at Topgolf around 2:30 and they said it would be a 2 hour wait. We waited 2.5 hours and they then said it would be at least 30 minutes more, only after my group asked about it. Then they said that even though we had been waiting since 2:30, we would be charged the higher price for guests after 5 pm because we would start playing after 5. I ordered a soda at the restaurant and it took over 35 minutes for them to give it to me. The whole experience was frustrating and I would not come back. The service was poor as well. Had a under age adolescent call me vulgar names and tried to fight me and the group I was with upon leaving. Security and police did nothing to help and the teenager spit on my car. Okay I just want to start out by saying the workers are AMAZING. I give them 10 out of 5 starts. Everyone was so cool and handled themselves well with how busy it was. Unfortunately we got here at 8pm tonight and were told there would be an hour wait. it ended up being a two hour wait but that was the only negative part. Ok so the last time I was here, the bartenders were horrible, so I decided to give this place a second chance, well different bartenders, but same horrible service. It was clear to me I wasn't welcomed!!!, as I sit and wait, both bartenders see me sitting but didn't acknowledge me there, as other bar guest start to fill the bar they were greeted and served. After everyone else had their drinks then I was asked what would I like, had a bud light. Instead of asking if I wanted a tab, like everyone else,I was given a total. This definitely a venue that Birmingham, AL and the City of Birmingham should have a continual partnership. The venue isn't a very promising venue as it reminds me of Dave and Busters. The bar on the top deck isn't very nice it's an open and presentable space. Our server Jaquetta was very nice to get our drinks and interact with what we needed as a group this past Friday 06-01-2018 as a pop-up event for our organization. There are three things for consideration at the establishment which I will outline as follows: 1) Have direction signage to ensure flow of traffic to the hill as they are currently working on access from I-20, 2) The memebership card was a bit of a surprise as one would not think it cost even if it is a one-time fee, and 3) If a group still has tickets and tabs outstanding as we were waiting to pay/tip the waitress as our party was 15+ then I'd another group is coming in the server and management should have the diligence to give that group an adjacent table/bay that is vacant so that they can begin playing their game. Overall this was a great experience as I would just urge the Top Golf Birmingham, AL management team to review the aforementioned causes for concern as it relates to our groups end-user experience as we will definitely be back! read more

After about 20 minutes of sitting down at the table with no acknowledgement of our presence, we had to flag someone down to ask for water and order our food.
