TopGolf is so much fun! It is like a driving range meets bowling. The facility is beautiful and modern. The bar is massive and they have a fun diverse drink menu. The food menu is massive and enticing. I just had chips and guacamole, but even that was fresh and tasty. The actual game area is rented out by the booth rather than by person. The rates run from $25 to $45, depending on the time of day. A buddy and I played 2 hours and were able to play 3 full games in that time, and we were pretty leisurely in our pace. The tech at play to assign a golf ball to a player and then immediately tracks its landing spot is really outstanding. There was not one single issue with the tracking or scoring! This was my first visit to Top Golf; we went for a friend's birthday. It took over 45 minutes to get one round of drinks, and an hour and a half to get our food from the time we ordered it. The food was all cold and everyone's burgers were burned. We ordered a second round of drinks and three of the seven drinks made it to the table. There was no explanation as to why we never got the other drinks. We asked for a set of left-handed clubs when we arrived, those were never brought to our bay, either. Overall, a poor experience for a place that has been so hyped up. read more

My cousin came in town from California and we were super excited to try Top Golf. We knew it would be a longer wait because it was a Saturday evening, however a "2 hours wait" turned into a 4 hour wait with still no text. We went up to the the desk twice. 2 hours passed and the guy said we were #14 and it would be 30 to 40 minutes. We figured we had already waited so why not just keep waiting? We waited and we went back up there and he said we were #79 and it would be about another 25 minutes. We ended up waiting 4 hours and still nothing. It's so disappointing because it's a great place with great entertainment, but I wish the wait list would be a little more organized. read more

5 stars for the experience and great setup. Worth each and every penny on the golf lanes. The staff was very attentive and they got one on one attendant service for each lane. The guy who was taking care of us was standing right over with us all the time and got us covered for the whole evening. Exceptional service on this perspective. They gotta work a bit on training their staff well so that they can make the best use of this facility. The guy who got us a lane was not clear on what he is offering us. He told us a one time pass is 5 bucks and life time pass is 5 bucks. Just let them say its 5 bucks and u can come anytime after one time fee. Dont confuse when it costs the same for one time and lifetime pass. Food was just fine and service for food was sluggish. Be prepared to get some burnt food too as it get crowded. I don't know that I loved it like everyone else. We had a 3 o'clock reservation and the girls at the front desk had no idea what they were doing. Once we made it to our table, it was an absolute mess. When the game started at around 3:30 it stopped at 4pm right in the middle of the game. The time started at 3. This place is ridiculous. They overbook people and then lie about the system being "broken" and IT people fixing it up. We came here at 4pm and they told us it's a "2 hour wait" and we came back when they texted it's 15 mins before it's ready. We waited another 2 fn hours. This is such bad customer service it is insane how it's still running. They either need to expand the place or actually be on top of the schedule and schedule people the right way instead of lying to people's faces about it. read more

I went to top golf on a Friday evening and did not have a reservation. I was told that it is important to have a reservation on he weekends because it is so busy, however, my group and I had no problems getting a bay. The attendants are so nice and the facility is clean and colorful. Places that are similar to top golf, will have great drinks but subpar food, however, The food at top golf was actually good! We came here tonight for my sister's birthday. We waited 2 hours for our dinner to come out and only after we asked to speak to a manager did we even receive our food. Upon receiving the food, half of our order was missing/incorrect. The half we did receive was cold. We never even received our appetizers that we ordered. To compensate, the manager offered us a free hour of game play at the bay in order for us to have enough time at the bay to eat the food that was taking literal hours to come out! After waiting another 45 minutes for the rest of our order to come out with no avail, we just canceled the rest of the food and asked for the check. My sister couldn't even enjoy the game due to being so hungry. We drove 3 hours from our home to enjoy Top golf. We frequently visit for special occasions, I understand being short staffed BUT the waitress/management should have warned us ahead of time of the delay instead of making us wait with no explanation. SO, to summarize, if you are coming just to play, get on the waitlist 1-3 hours ahead of time. But if you are coming to eat, simply don't. read more

If I could put 0 stars, I would. We had a reservation for 2 bays and when the time came, they only gave us 1 Bay. They said that they need to accommodate the other customers. I completely understand that, but we made a reservation for 2 bays. I dont understand. Is there a preference in customers? Usually a pretty big fan of this location but today I had an unpleasant experience, we selected top golf to celebrate my birthday this year. For starters, my girlfriend tried to reserve a bay for two weeks and the app wasn't showing any availabilities she also tried calling with no success, so we decided we would show up early enough that the people attending my party wouldn't have to wait. Once we arrived we were told the wait would be two to two and a half hours which we were fine with seeing that we were trying to get in during a peak time on a Saturday. We waited the two hours and were given our bay to play just as our party arrived. The major issue came when we were just finishing up our first game and trying to start our second. Apparently after a two hour wait they put us in a booth that was reserved for a party at 5:30 which meant that we were only able to play for an hour, I just wish they would've offered to transfer us to a different booth so we could continue playing but instead we had to cut my birthday short after only getting to play for half the time we sat in the truck waiting. read more

The game is a lot of fun but the service is so poor. They need managers to whip these servers into shape. Whether you're in the bar area or in your Bay expect long wait times and unknowledgeable waitstaff. Our server came to check on us ONCE during a two hour visit in the bay, I wanted a new drink for around 30 minutes before I had a neighboring bay waiter grab me something. Went to Topgolf for the first time today and we had mixed feelings due to a weird vibe with the service. We'd give the golf experience a 5-star-plus rating. A little pricey but sooo fun, whether you regularly golf or not. We began our visit with a Bloody Mary in the bar. The spicy version was just right and our bartender was friendly and helpful in explaining how things work. So what went wrong?, you ask. From the time we stepped out of our car, we were covered up with staff. A security guard literally walked up to us and looked us over (two 50-60 women, pretty tame customers). We opened the door and the cashier was asking for our credit card. We told her we'd like to look around, maybe have a drink. We paid for the bloody Marys as soon as delivered and gave the bartender a 20% tip. We head to our outdoor golf bay and another server explains the game, asked for the card again and runs it. In one hour of play, server probably asked us 5 times if we wanted to order food or drinks. Every single time interrupting our play. Our thought: we're paying $25 plus our $10 membership, let's play while the clock is ticking and eat afterward. By the time we get to our final 5 minutes of our $35/hr play she is literally standing there watching every swing we take. We can only figure she is anxious for a tip. What she doesn't realize is she burned it away being so aggressive. By the time we were done playing we were ready to go elsewhere. Overall thoughts: fabulous facility and so fun. We saw families, work groups and other couples. But so overstaffed -- had to be two staff per customer -- there is high competition for tips, leading to an unpleasant experience for the customer. Bartender told us they hired more than 600 people when it opened. Easy to believe. We spoke to an assistant manager as we left. Considering they had our cell phone numbers before we even arrived, and had captured a credit card number twice, why all the breathing down our necks? I asked if they had large numbers of people who try to skip out on tabs. We didn't get a good answer. She offered an appetizer for our bother but we declined. We weren't looking for a freebie. She said she would speak with staff. I hope our experience was the exception. Really nice facility. read more

The service was good. The bartenders are good. The drinks are over priced and not that great. Everything was good until some lady came and told us we had to leave bc the the bay was rented by someone else. At this particular time we weren't just sitting here we were ready to go, however, we had to wait on our debit cards and change. This woman came to the table and bagged everyone's food up and was like we could wait at the bar. Really they weren't in a rush to get us to a bay yet they rushed to get us out the way. I reserved a bay for $50 on a Friday night...but be aware that only gets you a booth. You then pay $45 to play for an hour and I had to also pay another $30 for guests to have a mandatory membership card. So far, we are at $125 for an hour, no food yet or beverages. Seems a little too pricey to me. Fifty should cover booth w play. Guests will order food a drinks...its a given, so you'll get the $$. Also it was my husbands birthday. I asked ahead of time if I could bring a cake, but the hostess said "ask for a manager and we will take care of you". Disappointed that all that meant was a card signed by the staff with a pass for later. I thought maybe they did a special little individual dessert :( Food was good and server was sweet. The venue is impressive.Too expensive for a weekend night. Go during the day if you can, and pay less. read more

You never know what you're going to get out of this Topgolf. The first 2 times the service was terrible and on the third, my wait time kept getting extended longer and longer until we eventually just left(after 3.5 hours of waiting for a 2 hour wait). I will say though that the last time I went we were given exceptional service from Ryan and a few of the managers and it has definitely made me consider returning again. If the first few times they were just working out the kinks then I get that but it has still yet to reach a 4 or 5 star rating in my book. If they continue to improve then this will be one of the biggest attractions in Birmingham but they are just not there yet. read more

Solid experience overall. Solely for entertainment purposes. I would not go expecting to perfect your golf game, but you can go and get some swings in, have a few laughs and a few drinks and it's not too expensive. I've been with groups of 4, 6, and 8 and 4 is by far the best. Still affordable and gives your the most opportunities for hitting balls. Waiters/waitresses come around frequently and are quick to fill your order. Alcohol selection was plenty good. We were just getting buckets of 16 oz domestics for I think $5 per beer. This was my first time at top golf. My husband and I were visiting my father in law from Georgia and thought we would do something other than sit at home. When we first got around we went to the first floor bar to get drinks while we waited. Our service there was very slow and not super great but I know they're new and everyone seemed overwhelmed. When we finally got a lane we got Jaquetta as our server and let me tell you, she was fantastic. I watched her with other tables and random kids and she was great and attentive with every person she came in contact with. Every restaurant type business really comes down to their servers and if she stays with top golf at this location they will do fine. read more

They have the best HEATERS! This is an outdoors golf place (though not a golf course). It was 45 degrees when I was there, and all I had to wear was a sweater and a light pullover. The food was excellent. We were a big group, so we had a buffet just for us. I had salad, mac n cheese, brisket and chocolate chip cookies. Everything was great. My family and I were on our way to Destin and didn't want to drive all the way through so we decided to stay in Birmingham for the night. We needed food so we decided to do Topgolf food and fun right.....NO! We had never been to Topgolf and my husband has been wanting to go in Nashville so Topgolf it was. We expected a wait because it was kind of packed but 15 wasn't bad at all. We get to our bay ordered drinks (sodas and water) and began to take a few swings. It took a minute but hey we were having fun. When the drinks came we placed our order and that's when the trouble started. The people next to us who came after us got their food and we didn't.....red flag....we only ordered burgers and fries. The waitress came and said that the kitchen slows down this time of the night it was 10:30 and you close at 2am so why are you slowing down. So the manager gave us 15 more minutes of playing time. We still haven't gotten our food mind you or not refilled and the drinks are watered down. My husband asked to speak to the manager he never came. The food came and he asked again for the manager and the waitress said that he was busy in a meeting with an employee because something had happened. We never saw the manager after waiting 30 more minutes. We needed up leaving. Needless to say this was a HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! What a way to experience Topgolf for the first time. I don't know if we will ever go back to a Topgolf but I hope the others are NOT like this one. Topgolf in Birmingham needs A LOT of work and fast or it will be closing soon! read more

Was very excited to finally get to visit, but left rather disappointed. Loved the actual golfing and technology that is incorporated. Terrible service (at the golf bay)!!! 3/4 entrees were good. The burger was terrible. The poor service was awful, but management tried to fix things which i appreciated. They played some music with terrible language that wasn't appropriate for kids. I am SO glad that we brought a Topgolf into Birmingham. While there is a decent amount to do here, Topgolf was a nice addition. Unfortunately, because it is so popular (because it is brand new...to be expected) it is difficult to just walk in and expect a bay open right away, especially on weekends. However, the atmosphere is so fun and it is not too expensive. Its a great place to hang out with family OR friends, and just enjoy the day! read more

I have been to Top Golf a many of times and not always wonderful service but never bad. Tonight has been one of the worst experiences I have ever had at a restaurant/ Top Golf ever. They got my appetizer wrong twice. The got our food wrong and it took 40 minutes to get our order right. I ordered a pitcher of beer and it was hot and we never received any cups to drink it. We waited 20 minutes for a box for our food. They table sat down beside us 20 minutes after we had ordered and they were paid and done before we even received our checks. I would suggest anyone wanting to have a good night with friends, family or whomever to spend it elsewhere. I will not be back for a long long time if ever! read more

I give this place 2 stars simply because after complaining to the manager he gave us a couple discounts to make up for the terrible service. We sat down at a dirty table hoping someone would come by to clean. 20 minutes later I asked the bartender for a towel to clean the table. He kindly offered a towel for me to clean myself. We had to order drinks and food at the bar because NO ONE ever offered to wait our table, we served ourselves and our food never arrived. We stayed at that same table for one hour with no help. I asked for a manager who NEVER showed up. When we went to our bay there was no one to help us there either. It wasn't until a young man named Gerald came and assisted us that we were actually taken care of. He then was able to get a manager to come and help with our terrible service.
