We'd headed West out of Chicago to visit Winston's Sausages - purveyors of the Irish meats my partner likes. Next door was this pancake house and we walked across the lot to get breakfast. Good choice! He had bacon and sausage on a sandwich. I had the country fried steak. We both had cups of tea. Everything was very good. The restaurant is clean, prices Chicago average, and service was both entertaining and attentive. When I asked our waitress for directions to the ladies room she gave a well rehearsed and funny response: straight ahead, don't turn left (kitchen) they'll put you to work; don't turn right (men's room), a man will scream. I'd like to have that country fried steak again today, but we're not in Chicago anymore.

All day breakfast close to the Airport. What more do you need? On this trip, I ordered the open-face roast beef sandwich, which I mistakenly assumed would be a beef manhattan. Imagine my surprise when I saw the fries. Regardless, the meal was decently priced and I was able to get a chocolate shake to go with it. If you are looking for a diner near the airport, go ahead and give this place a try.

    Broken plate

They served my food on a plate with cracks in it. They're still using plates from decades ago while charging modern day prices. The food itself & coffee tasted off.

Great place! My father and I had quite a long layover at midway airport so we walked about 15 min to this place. We got the chicken omelette and hash browns and it was much better than anything we found at the airport. The french toast was a delicious surprise. Friendly service as well.

    Chicken omelette and hash brown

I ordered a chicken omelet from Uber Eats and it did not disappoint. The omelet was already packed with flavor and had a nice kick, but I took it up a level by adding jalapeños--game changer. The chicken was seasoned well, the eggs were fluffy, and the spice hit just right without being overwhelming. If you love spicy food, this is a must-try

Great food, welcoming staff, a gem atmosphere for solo dining or with groups. I enjoyed a nice brunch that satisfied me and filled me up.

This location is very close to Midway airport which is the reason why I stopped in. Quick meal before or after a flight Unfortunately the foos isn't that great. Nothing was seasoned... like nothing. The service was pretty good but that varies from person to person. They even charged .50 for lemons for the water! Not sure why I didn't write a review the 1st time I came but this will remind me not to come back

While in Chicago we stopped in for breakfast, the food was pretty good no complaints. Service was polite and quick, the pricing was on par with what I'm used to. If I'm back in the Windy City I will check them out again!

Low review due to service was not good. They sat us & gave us water - walked away & we waited over 10 minutes. We had to ask for service - bad start. Lady looked annoyed that we asked for service - Ordered food & drinks - they came out quick. Food was bland - 4 of us and we had 3 skillets 2 were skirt steak for hubby and I which had little seasoning. I added lots of salt and pepper to add some kind of flavor w ketchup. My sister had avocado one tomato looked bad. Brother n law had special eggs - bacon - and French toast nothing special. Anyways nice amount of food but the skirt steak wasn't worth $16 per plate. We never been here before and more than likely won't be back.

With a cozy locals vibe, there was a mix of young professionals on laptops and families starting the morning. The bright aesethics of Mexican heritage and decor celebrating local artists make the space inspiring and energizing. The coffee was great. I got the horchata latte, which tasted even better than I hoped. I also ordered a El Chavo Torta, a deceptively simple sandwich that was incredibly delicious. I don't know what they put in the bread or what magical place they bought the cheese from, but my mouth is watering just thinking about it. When I'm in Chicago again, La Malinche is on my list of must visit spots.

The staff were really welcoming, for an early morning. I got the hot chocolate. Honestly that's exactly what I needed that morning. It had that real Mexican chocolate taste. Thick, creamy, smooth and rich. The cinnamon came through warm but not too strong, plus a little extra on top that hit your nose before the first sip. Sweet and it almost had this slight earthy note too... hard to explain but good. It even had that little design on top, like the ones they do on cappuccinos. Didn't expect that but it was cool. I finished it slow. Didn't wanna rush it. Just sat there taking small sips and enjoying it while it was still hot.

We got the pancakes, which come with a citrus butter and fresh berries. The pancakes were some of the best I've had, and the butter added a refreshing orange flavor that paired really well with them. The salmon sandwich was also great. The bread they make in house is delicious. Eggs in Purgatory, steak and eggs, and the American breakfast were also ordered. The tomatoes in the Eggs in Purgatory tasted very fresh. The steak was great, though a little salty, but the meal was very flavorful overall. And those potatoes?!! So good. Set in an old warehouse that is now an art gallery event space and restaurant nestled in an older warehouse district in Bridgeport neighborhood of Chicago. Beautiful decor and laid out perfectly. The natural wood floors furniture ie tables chairs etc and iron work throughout sets the ambiance for old meets new. It works. The wide spacing between tables makes for a comfortable dining experience. So many folks come in to do their work and dine here. What a super addition to the neighborhood that less than a decade ago was essentially a street that was more a run down semi-truck alley. Great menu with neighborhood favorites leaning toward the old school Italian dishes. Sandwiches, soups, salads, and breakfasts just to name a few are all excellent. The pastries are insane and a must take home deal. I love the American Breakfast. Three eggs your way, thick diced America potatoes, thick cut bacon, and sourdough toast. Accompanied by what I believe to be home made jelly and for sure homemade gardiniera. Caruso's gardiniera actually. Diced into a relish unlike most standard gardiniera it's easier to eat with many dishes. Excellent flavor and just the right kick to it. FYI Dolce Arte also sells a to go line of homemade Caruso products from their gardiniera to past and past sauces and more. Yes, their coffee is really good too. Lavazza products I believe. The service is always on point. Casual but on point. Very friendly staff from diverse backgrounds. This is the place you bring people close to you, business lunches, meetings, formal ir informal, or like me, save it for myself as my own getaway spot. It's an artists dream and sets a positive time for any gathering.

Service Issues:The service was inattentive throughout the meal, and concerns were not adequately addressed when brought to the staff's attention. Both coffee cups also arrived dirty, with dried coffee residue inside, raising concerns about cleanliness and attention to detail.
