This was my first visit to their small brick & mortar location. I ordered 3 breakfast tacos and they were generously portioned. (I took one home with me as the first two were very filling.) The chilaquiles taco was by far the BEST. It had a generous filling and some good sour cream. Once tipped with a little pico de gallo from their small salsa bar, it was a perfect breakfast taco. Also, tried the egg, chorizo and cheese taco which was very tasty and not at all greasy. I sometimes won't order chorizo if I think it's going to be too spicy or greasy! Lastly, the egg, bacon and cheese taco was good and went home for a breakfast treat the next morning. Place is small, but the chef was friendly and prompt in his delivery of breakfast! read more

Disappointing, I ordered a 4 taco combo for pick-up and had to wait in a line for 10 minutes before I could pick up lukewarm tacos. The meal was the bare minimum of 4 tacos with no avocado, no onions, no cilantro, and no salsa. I intentionally included these in my order, but everything was ignored. As soon as I held the bag, I felt that it was nearly as light as my wallet. Each taco had fillings as small as a mini street taco. The meat was mostly tender and moist but texture was iffy due to bits of greasy chewy/crunchy/fatty gristle. The flavor was lacking with just a hint of salt. If the garnishes were included, the flavor, texture, and heft would have been a bit better. Normally I do not rate places negatively, but this cost me almost $4 per taco which is the price for higher quality taco places that include good meat and more. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this place for basic tacos when there are other options in the area. For example, Buenos Sabores has more flavor, a unique homestyle twist, and more filling at a slightly higher price. Taco Deli has breakfast tacos that are cheaper, filling, interesting ingredient options, and decent salsas (jalapeno, habanero). To me, the ideal taco should be a cheap flavor-bomb. What I had today was neither cheap nor flavorful. read more

We had the pleasure of Top Taco cater my daughter's 1st bday party in Driftwood, TX. There were a few to choose from but Jorge was the best bang for the buck and the overall process was very simple. We held a 30+ person party and everyone was very satisfied and full by the end of the party. Jorge was gracious enough to hang around longer due to a random thunderstorm that came in as guests arrived later than expected. Overall we were very happy with the cost, the service and our guests reaction. By far the best way to entertain a party of that size, in my personal opinion. We are from Ladera Ranch, Ca and flew in the day before. Jorge made the food part soooo easy. Thanks again mi amigo, until next time cuídate dios los bendiga! read more

BTW, this is not a food truck... it's a brick and mortar location. It was clean and service was good. I had two sirloin tacos on corn. They give you 2 homemade thin white corn tortillas per taco, which I prefer over the one thick yellow corn ones where you might as well be eating a tamale. They had that little bit of a charred flavor that I absolutely love. The sirloin was seasoned nicely (not too salty) and it was tender. My only criticism is they don't put enough meat on the steak taco, but it's probably because beef is so expensive these days. But what it lacked in substance was made up in taste. I'll just get 3 next time vs. 2, and I'll get the hot salsa vs the medium as I didn't find the medium to be even slightly hot... good flavor though. If their sirloin tacos are any indicator, the rest of their menu is something to look forward to trying. Definitely flavor bombs!! read more

The guys who run this truck are so nice. I had a breakfast taco messed up (I can't eat egg) and they were very quick to get it resolved. Their food is really good. I normally get up and drive into town to get gas station tacos, but knowing they'll be in our neighborhood more often, I may just start going to them. I look forward to trying their regular lunch tacos too. The breakfast tacos were super full of ingredients. They were hot, fresh, and delicious. read more

I tried the $12 4x taco combo; got 1 of every flavor The meats on their own merit were alright (what one might expect, not at all bad, but perhaps a few seasonings away from being perfect), this however sets the tacos up to be pretty swell when you toss in the additional toppings/sauces which they have. The true aspect of what made "Top Taco" the top was the owner/person we interacted with at the window, they excuded an awesome energy that just felt nice and earnest; wishing em all the best as they keep up the fun attitude! Thanks! read more

I was able to get a combo of 4 tacos as part of my apartments resident appreciation. I wasn't expecting much but damn these tacos are delicious!!! They were simple tacos but the taste was just perfect. A lot of tacos I've had in Austin are too salty or over-seasoned for my taste. These tacos were just right. I'll definitely have to check this place out sometimes on my dime. read more

It was not bad - solid 3 -but wish the meat was more flavorful. I heard good things so was a bit dissapointed. Not a lot of great options on area, so maybe this is what the peoole desire. I will go central or east when I want a taco fix. read more

First time visiting this Taco truck outside of work. It must be popular and good due to the long line! It wasn't a bad wait time. Looked like there were 2 working, 1 at counter and 1 preparing orders. I ordered 3 tacos based on a coworkers recommendation. 2 steak, 1 chicken on corn tortilla with avacado. They were out of Topo Chico, so I got a Mexican coke. I paid extra for the avocado but shouldn't have being that their is a yummy complimentary green sauce that is made with avocado. I know for next time. Beef tacos were great, chicken was meh. Red and green sauce was good too. Service was friendly and great, I'll definitely be back and order the beef tacos on corn with a topo chico. read more

We contacted Top Taco recently for catering our family gathering. The owner Jorge was very easy to get in touch with and was very clear what the catering experience would include. He was also very flexible as I made a couple changes to the exact timing of our event. Very responsive and followed up promptly during all our planning. Jorge and Ricky arrived on time, setup quickly, and followed all Covid safety protocols. Most importantly, the taco plates were very tasty and filling - with a nice variety of options. The whole family was impressed with his TOP friendly service and the pride he takes in running his small business. Would definitely recommend Jorge and his team or use them for another catering event. Thank you Jorge! read more

Solid breakfast tacos... I love that its served all day. I took my mother and nephew here this morning when we were too late to get a rudys breakfast taco. Gps was a bit messed up finding this place. Just look for the shell station- its attached. I do still prefer Rudy's because I love their hot sauce/salsa. Its spicier and has more flavor. But this idea great option for later in the day... I will definitely be back. read more

We had Top Taco cater a party for 70 at our house. The crew of two pulled up in our driveway and flawlessly served us fresh, hot tacos on demand. The tacos were not pre-made. The choices were for four different varieties and they were all excellent, especially the Al Pastor pork tacos. I give them our highest recommendation. read more

Jorge brought his food truck to feed us at my 50th birthday party. We closed off the cul de sac with the truck and turned the street into a food truck park. It was FANTASTIC! Everyone at the party was amazed at how fresh and delicious the tacos were. Guests were going back for seconds and thirds so they could try all the different tacos. Jorge and his assistant were so friendly and genuinely excited to be serving their food for my party. Great job Jorge! Thank you!!!! Have you ever had tour very own taco truck for your party?? Then Top Taco is the top choice! We are still getting inquiries about who made those great tacos! Now that they've opened a brick and mortar we will definitely be taking friends and family to enjoy some GREAT ATX food! read more

Top Taco catered at my complex at Bell South Lamar and the gentlemen were kind and friendly. The food was awesome. I feel so bad and my apologies. I ordered a taco bowl. Yes they allow you to not order bowl without tortillas! With chicken, steak and there poblano veggie mix. I did. It see the steak so came back to say it was missing the steak. I later found out it DID have the steak!! I am so not someone to try and get extra food. I work in the service industry myself. These guys were working hard and delivered a great product in difficult times... I'm sorry Top Taco! These guys were gracious and did not complain and gave me an extra side of steak and apologized. I will find you again and buy all The tacos and give you guys all the tips. Thank you! read more

These tacos were amazing! They parked in front of my apartments and I decided to check them out. I selected the four taco combo with avocado. They allow you to mix and match your tacos, which is excellent! I asked for the chicken and poblano vegetarian tacos and they recommended I combine the two. Holy cow! Super delicious combo! The salsa was amazing, also. The staff is super friendly and helpful. I highly recommmend! read more

Hired them for an event, the truck came out on time, everything went smooth! From a catering perspective, 100% recommend.

Very tasty tacos! We tried the beef, pork belly, veggie, and combo tacos with avocado (4 for $11). My favorites were the beef and pork belly. The veggie taco had lots of mushrooms - was expecting more veggies. Sauces available range from mild to habanero. I added minced cilantro to all my tacos; minced onion was also available. Tacos were ready very quickly from the moment we ordered. Now if they only had fish tacos.. read more

We had our first annual No Place for Hate Multicultural Fair at Pflugerville Middle School on April 6, 2024. Prior to the event, we were searching for food vendors to attend the event. The tacos were delicious and the service was great. Thank you, Top Taco, for taking a chance on our event and helping us fundraise money for our No Place for Hate student coalition. We used the Top Taco food truck for our post-wedding brunch and were thrilled with the food and service they provided. Jorge, the owner, was awesome to work with. He responded to my emails almost immediately and always picked up the phone. Top Taco was even flexible when I had to change around the hours at the last minute. They showed up early to set up, made us 80 pre-made tacos and the rest a la carte. Not only were the tacos delicious, but the staff was friendly and even gave us to-go boxes with leftovers! We rode bikes past this place every week and had never seen it open until one fateful Saturday afternoon. We just *had* to stop and check it out. I can't really say much else than it was all amazing. The salsas were delish, the tortillas were soft and fresh, the meat was perfectly cooked and well seasoned. I enjoyed my chicken immensely. My husband raved about the combo taco he got. Then, we got on our bikes and rode away. I have not yet seen the truck there or open since, but I'm happy to see it just continues to wander Austin, spreading taco love throughout town. read more

Top Taco came to my work for the first time this morning. One thing I have learned is to always try the new truck, and this morning I'm glad I did. To start, the gentleman at the window is an absolute sweetheart, very welcoming, very excited about his food, and he provides excellent service. It was fast too! I waited less than five minutes for fresh cooked food. The truck is also very eye catching! Now the food, the tortillas were fantastic, toasted lightly on the griddle, so you get that little crunch right when you bite. I honestly can't recall if they were homemade or not, but they certainly taste like it. They look smallish, but don't let that full you, two were perfect. I am stuffed! I ordered a potato, egg, cheese. The potato was well seasoned, but the whole thing needed a little more kick, or flavor. I added some of the habanero salsa about halfway through the taco. It was good, it had some definite heat. I've read some of the other reviews that it wasn't very hot, this must have been a good batch because it was hot. I think it needed more cheese, because that flavor got lost as well. I will chalk it up to my needing to order something a little less bland than potatoes and eggs. Overall, it was very good, just a little bland. I also ordered a chorizo, egg, cheese and it was amazing! The chorizo had an excellent flavor. The cheese definitely came out more in this taco, though I still think it needed more. Maybe I just like cheese? But this taco was fabulous. All in all with tip I paid $7.50. Not bad for some really tasty tacos. I will definitely be back. read more
