Holy hot Cheetos batman! Aparicio's is great, everything has some sort of hot Cheeto aspect be it a tortilla made of hot Cheetos or just it being covered in hot Cheetos or sometimes both. The Machete's are huge there's enough food for two people to share. The shakes are also super tasty. This is a very cool spot. Go here!

I really like their elotes! It was only $5 for the whole plate. Really worth it. I got it with hot Cheetos too. They also give you a buzzer, so you can wait inside your car if it's cold. There are also tables, so you can sit outside to eat. There's a small parking lot next to it.

Went to the new Leander location this evening. It's very close to my house and I had heard great things about this place, so I decided to try it. We had: Carne assada quesadilla Carnivore quesadilla Carnivore tacos Everything was really delicious and fresh. The meat was well seasoned and it had that perfect char that enhances the flavor. I had 2 tacos and they were a very good portion. Their salsa verde is the best one I have ever tried. Hubby had the carne assada quesadilla and he said the flavors were awesome. We had a lot of food, but we did not feel heavy cause the food is really fresh. Can't wait to be back.

    Strawberry horchata is good.

The machetes are expensive for the amount of meat they have but they are good size and the tortilla for it is really good. Salsas are ok.

I had the Gansito shake. If you're unfamiliar with Gansitos, they're a Mexican snack cake filled with strawberry jelly and cream and coated with chocolate. The shake's texture is great and it tastes exactly like a Gansito. It's topped with whipped cream and fresh strawberries, and also comes with an entire Gansito! It was really tasty and so big. I couldn't finish it in one sitting, but I was happy to save it in my freezer and enjoyed having it for dessert the next day.

Let me just say this... I've live all over the US and LA was one of the places I frequent very often... these tacos here were amazing. They have a theme of Texas size portions which I think is Genius but to be completely honest I wasn't expecting it to be that big! Ordered 4 of the Texas sized carne asada tacos and let me tell you flat out delicious!! Meat was seasoned well and cook on open flame with that char we all know and love! And let me not forget about the drinks!! Wow the strawberry lemonade is absolutely amazing and would drive 30mins to get it daily... filled with fresh lemonade made daily and chucks of freshly chopped strawberries... Shessh Will be coming back to this place often as it's close to my house and it's hard to find a decent taco let along char grilled Carne Asada mmm mmm goood !!

Aparicios is a food truck off of Runberg and Georgian drive. There's parking to accommodate for about 8-10 cars. We originally went to Aparicios to try their "antojitos" and decided to try their food while we were there. Shakes - we got the Pingüino shake and the Gansito shake. The portions are generous and one shake is enough for two people. We each had more than half our shake leftover. The Pingüino shake tasted like a normal cookies and cream shake. The Gansito shake tasted just like a Gansito... and it had a full Gansito inverted into it! If you've never had a Gansito, just imagine vanilla bread, filled with just enough strawberry jam, covered in chocolate and add little chocolate bits to it. So yummy! As far as the food goes - it was good but it wasn't great, to be completely transparent. The machete is massive (2 ft)!! You can get two flavors and they'll split it right down the middle. We liked the Carne Asada with hot Cheetos more than the al pastor. There was no line when we got there. Staff is friendly and service was fast, it probably took about 10 minutes to order and get our food. Staff is wearing masks and they have hand sanitizer readily available. I don't think we'd go back for more food but would definitely go back to try more of their antojitos.

Not a good picture, but they are lighting the marshmallow in top of the 'Smore milkshake on fire.

Amongst a plethora of taco stands in Austin, this one is certainly unique. My partner tried the carne asada machete. It was $20 but filled two plates. It was quite good. He sent me back the next night and let me know he wouldn't be sharing , I ordered the hot Cheetos taco plate al pastor. It was also good. The Cheetos come on the side to stay crisp and YES I put them on there. I'll try something different next time, but ya just gotta, you know? The shakes are gargantuan, much too much for this ice cream lover. They were impressive, nonetheless. We'll be back when my partner gets the craving and I'll be happy to work my way through other menu items. Also: prices are on the high side for a taco stands IMHO, but I guess they win as I'll be back.

A really fun and creative food truck! I saw they had footlong tacos so my boyfriend and I came here on a Saturday night. It got pretty busy! They gave us a sample of all of their meats, and they were so tender and delicious. We were told we could do half and half foot-long taco, so we got half al pastor & half carne asada. We added hot cheetos to it as well. The truck had an awesome playlist and had a lot of tables to spread out and eat. I saw they had a lot of milkshake options as well. So random but I'm here for it! If I am in the area again I would definitely stop by! Our taco was delicious and so filling, we didn't have the opportunity to try anything else.

    Fruit breakfast tacos and OJ!

Aparicios is now doing breakfast on Saturday and Sundays! This stuff is soooo good. They have breakfast tacos ( both regular size and machete) along with Chilaquiles. The OJ is fresh squeezed and the Iced Coffee Horchata is da bomb. If you're looking for authentic Mexican - do yourself a favor and checkout Aparicios. The staff is always looking to try new things and receive feedback and it's such a friendly place. Located off of Hero Way in Leander - the restaurant is towards the back ( actually a side store) of a small strip mall. Look hard - you will be rewarded!

I've driven by El Alma many times being in the Austin area, but I never went until last Thursday, and after surviving a brief monsoon, I was glad to get a few drinks and eat some good TexMex with my large party just before a wedding. The best way to describe El Alma is that it is TexMex that is Austinified. Everything feels a little more unique and special than your classic TexMex options. I started off with a Mezcal Margarita that put a little hair on my chest and got me going. My group ordered two of their Nachitos, which were these nice nachos. For my main entrée, I got 3 Al Pastor tacos on corn with a side of their rice and beans. Their pastor was served with pineapples, onions, and cilantro with limes on the side. They were great and I immediately crushed them all. I thought their rice and beans were pretty good as well and a step above the typical TexMex rice and beans. The server was pretty attentive throughout our whole visit, and I honestly have no complaints about what they had to offer. Pricing on the meal and drinks was pretty standard for Austin, and I didn't think anything really took me out of the experience. On top of that, for being in Barton Springs, there is quite a bit of parking. I would love to come back at some point in the future and hang out on their rooftop bar because that seems like a lot of fun. Shoutout to El Alma for being a TexMex oasis saving me from the MoPac traffic. RIYL: TexMex, but better than your average

But the five stars is for the guacamole. It was a Saturday night, and my friends in I were downtown looking for somewhere to eat. We found their sign down on the street and decided to try them. Immediately upon walking in, we felt unwelcomed. We waited 10 minutes at the front desk for someone to even address us, and then were told to wait while they cleared off a table for us. Twenty minutes later, we went back up to ask about the table and were actually told by the staff that they forgot about it. Finally a table was set for us and we sat down. We all ordered drinks and asked for water at this point. The water was brought, but we waited and waited for our drinks. After another 20 minutes and watching the bartenders (who were not busy this evening) make no moves to make our drinks, we got up and left. I have never had such an experience at a restaurant before.
