The old fashioned line of donuts are fantastic. They have several flavors. I had the maple one which was excellent, my wife and I shared a sea salt, caramel one, and then I got her a double chocolate regular doughnut. I also had a latte which was excellent. Quick service. Cool bookstore interior.
There's an artisanal doughnut movement brewing in Seattle, a city of neighborhoods, and this establishment is leading the way. Named from a sign that the founders rescued from an old, boarded-up Chinese restaurant, but the "s" fell off during the restoration process. Voilà, Top Pot was born. My partner, his family, our friends, and I stumbled upon it here last Saturday, located on 5th Avenue, a block from our hotel bordering the Central Business District and Belltown during our visit. Upon arrival as first-timers, huge shelves containing encyclopedia volumes lined the walls with a library vibe, while a glorious window spanned the entire entrance on two levels of seating. They are all about the doughnuts; approx. forty varieties are made from scratch on site. The pastries looked amazing & overwhelmingly decadent. We had ordered a variety of assorted doughnuts, including Valley Girl Lemon and Apple Fritter. The doughnut's texture wasn't particularly light, but it had a pleasing chew that we found very satisfying that put a big smile on everyone's face. The staff was welcoming, the ambiance warm and inviting. Overall a great experience and would recommend for locals and visitors.
We love Top Pot Doughnuts and visit when we're in Seattle. There's a vast selection (more than 40 daily) and the staff is always patient while we try to decide what to have. I like that they usually have more than one type of cinnamon donut (my favorite). What kind of donuts do they have? Fritters, raised, crullers, long johns, monthly specials. We visited on the first of June, so I got to try one of the June specials, the raspberry lemonade cruller--yum! And, they have coffees to go with your donuts. The line, if there is one, goes quickly. Take your selections upstairs like we do and enjoy your treats with a view of the street and patrons entering and exiting. We'll be back for more on our next trip to the Emerald City.
The donuts were dry and hard. The service was great, but it was a terrible experience because the donuts were just very, very old or that's just how they make them. We got a creuller and a cake doughnut and a regular doughnut and all three of them weren't that good at all. They have a very nice little restaurant and the coffee was just OK too so I wouldn't choose to go here again.
The space welcomes you to take your beverage and pastry of choice and sit a while. You are also invited to take a book off the numerous floor to ceiling book shelves to escape in the pages of discovery. The service was fast, but grab your patience as the baristas are a little slow especially with an influx of people. I ordered the pershing which is like a cinnamon bun and hot chocolate. Since I decided to dine in, I would have expected that my pershing would have been served warm; unfortunately, it was not. In fact, it was cold, very cold, but it tasted pretty good so I would have to caution that of you are not a fan of cold doughnuts then you may want to bypass this place. Overall, it is a quaint coffee shop that is local and that creates a recommendation for you to at least give it a try.
Top Pot is a very cool and cozy doughnut shop in the Denny Triangle area of Downtown Seattle. Top Pot is serving up more traditional-style donuts (doughnuts? Why does each place spell it differently?) I loved the library vibes and large space here. I ended up just grabbing a traditional old-fashioned on the cashier's recommendation. It was great. I liked that Top Pot just felt simple, and the donut was good without any fancy frills. Compared to some other bakeries and donut shops I visited in Seattle, Top Pot offered that lowkey, 2000's nostalgia vibe that is unbeatable. Nothing to it. Thanks, Top Pot!

Lovely space with plenty of seats. Tried the cinnamon sugar raised donut and the lemon glazed old fashioned. The raised donut was on the dense side and very tasty. The lemon old fashioned was also good. I would love to visit here again.
I have been waiting to come back to Top Pot doughnuts since 2018. I can confirm it didn't disappoint! We had a banana foster fritter that was so flavorful and filling and a chocolate bar. My favorite thing about this location are the glass windows and all the books. It's such a calming place to start your morning before a full day out. Staff had great coffee recs and I can't wait to come back again!

I've been a fan of Top Pot for years. I haven't been here for more than 5 years though since I stopped working downtown. I had a Sugared Raspberry Donut. It's so light. I love how the raspberry jam counters the sweetness of the donut. It's very light. It's perfect with a hot cup of coffee. Love this cafe on 5th Avenue. It's very airy, with a nice loft. Love the look of the floor to ceiling shelves filled with books. Music is nice, not too loud. Service is friendly.
Got a doughnut and an iced golden latte after work since I was craving a sweet treat. 10/10. Love the inside. Service was good- one person stepped out to take care of somethng else so took about 10 minutes and there were only 2 people in front of me. Regardless, I'd come again. The only thing was there was a person outside asking for money but he seemed pretty friendly when I said not at this time, but he was sitting right next to the door pretty close. They had a lot of fun flavored donuts, but I was on a mission for an apple fritter. When I walked in a couple minutes after they opened (I'm an early riser), I saw the local construction workers and Dads picking up their usuals. My Apple Fritter was perfectly fluffy in the middle while having a nice fried hardness on the edges. The apple flavor wasn't artificial, but blended with the sweet dough. read more
We had a eggnog donut here that was super good, and I don't even like eggnog! This was the first stop in the "Underground Doughnut Tour" I booked for me and my friend. It was a lot of fun! They had a decent number of specialty drinks that I haven't seen at a lot of other places - I had a London Fog and my BFF got the chaga mushroom coffee. Both very good. I loved the atmosphere of this place too - Cozy with loads of books shelves. Worth a stop if you're in the area and want a donut with a nice warm drink. read more

A trip to Seattle is not complete without a pilgrimage stop to the original Top Pot Doughnuts. We selected high quality donuts including salted caramel old fashioned, a classic raspberry jelly donut dusted with powdered sugar, a maple and regular glazed donut, a Bavarian cream stuffed donut and an apple fritter. As a self proclaimed, self certified donut aficionado, sommelier, connoisseur of course I had to stop at a donut shop while visiting Seattle. It was great to experience the same donuts that awesome President Barack Obama visited. I arrived on a Thursday afternoon and there weren't many people waiting. It's an interesting Decour with two levels and bookshelves like a library. There are decent selection of donuts so I chose four. Disappointing. The plain doughnut was dry and not very flavorful. The rest were just basic. Nothing special, nothing fun, nothing extraordinary just basic donuts. I was also surprised that they weren't kept in a rack or a warmer they were just piled in the display case and that's what they gave you. I didn't finish them after taking one bite of each because none of them were worth taking in the sugar and calories and they didn't make me smile. read more
We were in Seattle for the weekend to watch the UW vs. Michigan game and took a stroll from our hotel to this unique spot to grab some doughnuts. One wall was covered from floor to ceiling with books and there was an upstairs area with more books and a great place to hang out and enjoy your donuts and coffee. The lemon filled as my favorite! Great doughnut place with multiple locations! Food: they have different varieties of doughnuts here And can order drinks as well! I love their old fashion doughnuts, you can also order some pastry items such Apple fritters. Although the pastries was not my favorite out of the items we got, i would definitely recommend the doughnuts thought! The interior is beautiful and plenty of space to eat and chat with friends. I love the books wall they have here and makes the place very unique. Service was great and staff was friendly. There is not a parking lot here so it is all street parking but i didn't have any trouble finding a spot read more

YOOOOO these donuts are tasty as HaiL! Light, soft, airy, perfect amount of chocolate and frosting on each donut. Left them out for 5 hours and was still as fresh and tasty as when we picked em up got me gobsmacked highly recommend 11/10 read more

Top Pot is a highly rated donut place in the Seattle area and this location was about a third of a mile from where we were staying. It's a huge building with an impressive display inside ranging from apple fritters, cake donuts, yeast raised donuts, long John's and biskmark's with different filling. The donuts are priced as I'd expect, though I've read some reviews about them being too pricey. They're big and substantial which is a plus so you feel like you're getting your money worth. The downside is that they're so big that they end up being dense and dry. The fritter was crispy on the outside but had no moisture inside. The bismark lacked more than just a dollop of filling in the middle and was dry. We tossed it after two bites. Bummer. It's worth checking out since it's a destination in Seattle but I won't be going back for a donut. read more

Nothing to say but just a solid good thick donut! I don't have the biggest sweet tooth but I always love treating myself to nice donut once in a while. My favorite is the Bavarian cream and glazed one. I normally would stick to just ordering one donut as these are pretty thick (I would have to eat like 1.5 or 2 krispy creme to compare to this one) but today was a special day so I got two This location is very cool, they have seating downstairs and upstairs. There are lots of books in the bookcase but I'm not sure if they are real... I will check next time! read more
i used to live almost across the street from top pot's capitol hill location, so i have become very well-acquainted with their donuts over the years. out of personal preference, i love the yeasted ones the most, and recently i had a huge craving for my absolute favorite of them all: Bavarian cream aka a Boston cream. went by the other day to get that and a bag full of other treats to freeze for a rainy day, and it was the same as ever. top pot is everything i love about a good donut shop: reliable. you always know what you're going to get, and the donut you order today is the same as the one you ate 10 years ago, is the same you can expect next time. that's quality this spot also has big, beautiful windows that let in lots of light and a view of the monorail, especially when the trees are bare in the wintertime. it's a very wistful space, and the upstairs is cozy. it stays surprisingly quiet during the day. read more
Donuts definitely tasted fresh. We tried the raspberry old-fashioned, plus the maple cake. The flavor and texture was nice, although both were sweeter than you'd usually expect. Would want to sample some more of their offerings. read more

Gotta love me some doughnuts! We ordered the maple glaze old fashioned and chocolate old fashioned doughnuts. Both were incredible and wish they had more flavors the day we went. The breading was exceptional period. Typically for old fashioned doughnuts you get a somewhat heartier/tough bite with some grityness, but these were anything but. You still get that slightly stronger bite from these doughnuts since they are still old fashioned style, but no grityness was there which is a feat in and of itself. They have multiple locations around the city but they all close somewhat early in the afternoon so be sure to get in! read more
Loved, loved, loved the downtown Seattle flagship café's cozy upstairs seating, which is definitely warmer than the downstairs, because it's the perfect spot to settle and savor your sweet selection. Just enjoy and don't second guess your choices. The flavors that didn't make the cut this time are all the more reason to return to this Top Pot. read more

Walked down to this well reviewed donut shop just up the street from the Westin Seattle off of fifth Avenue. Stopped in for a quick breakfast. Staff was very friendly. I asked for their signature items, and I was recommended the old fashioned glazed or maple bars. I went with an old-fashioned glazed, and an old-fashioned chocolate. The donuts were outstanding... Good texture and density, soft on the inside and not dry - icing had good flavors and they weren't overly sweet.. Chased it down with a cup of coffee that was excellent - about a medium to light roast. I will definitely be back. read more

This is a belated review, but it's been on my mind so wanted to leave one. I visited this location in November 2023 on my last day in Seattle and had the best experience. I got a pumpkin spice latte (special seasonal house made syrup) and a pumpkin spice glazed donut. Both delicious! Still craving them. When I return to Seattle I will stop here again! read more

This place came highly recommend from some friends, so we couldn't wait to rush over and try them out on our visit to Seattle. Although the atmosphere was chic and the donuts were phenomenal, the customer service was far from good. An I mean ZERO friendliness from the women up front. The best was the guy attending us that looks exactly like Shiloh (the kid from Brangelina union). Oh, and the decor too! Way too long lines for just average coffee (my colleagues and I were wondering about where is the grandiosity of Seattle coffee and that maybe we are used to bad coffee and don't find it good here). A lot of variety in the donuts section, of course. I went for a glazed one and was good but nothing too special. I like that they have a level upstairs to sit (if you find a spot) and a couple tables outside to check people in the long lines. read more
We overheard a food tour that said this place is one of Seattle's BEST donuts. To be completely honest with this Yelp community, donuts are not my favorite snack item. That said, this was a dang good old fashioned. Sadly seems not at least in terms of doughnuts. Of course you could get a latte with non dairy milk but avoid the mocha due to the dairy in its mix

What donut should I get the next time I go to Top Pot in Seattle? I ask this because I am searching for the best donuts in America.
The flavors change often, they have standard glaze, and cake donuts. I had a sugar raised berry flavored donut, I forgot the name as it was a 'themed' option. All I recall was it was too sweet and not memorable.
