Jay forgot my AC duct completely, after final payment my wife noticed there was a duct just sitting open in the attic (pics attached). Since I'm now here thanks to Jays business acumen, let me tell you about when they hit my fence with their truck knocking the post down and left without telling me. I had delays because they didn't order the right windows for our bathrooms. I had them install a single door that was meant to be two and keep a straight face as they act confused why I don't want a door that's nearly 4 feet wide? After providing measurements and sending us to his preferred bathroom and tile store. Nothing that was ordered for in our bathroom. Jays solution? Rip the framing off and turn a $400 mirror into a $100 mirror from Home Depot. Same for the sink and backsplash. He also tried to put R13 in my outer wall and when questioned if that was appropriate he offered to "stuff extra in" that's scary from a "pro" Jay also did our siding replacing cedar shake with vinyl cedar shake, they had bid ton remove the old shingles and tyvec before new siding. Instead I get home from work and Jay tells me I get a couple bucks back but doesn't acknowledge he didn't do what he bid to do. While all of these renovations were going on I was also having concrete work done in my backyard and basement. Jay quoted a column for my garages eve that hangs over the driveway. He never did it, wouldn't even answer our emails. Working with Jag will cause nothing but stress and anxiety as they oscillate between ignoring your follow ups or outright lying

The subcontractors are hit or miss, some were fine and did quality work, but others were nonresponsive and behaved unprofessionally, and cut corners if there was no one around to call them on it. All subcontractors were off the list provided by JAG. We had several issues where there was seemingly no coordination between JAG and the subcontractors, because finishings that arrived on site were not the correct fit for the space, or materials arrived that were not what was outlined in the contract. In some instances, we received finishings with quality control issues (ex: doors that were not properly sealed on all outer edges, leading to peeling and moisture damage) that went unnoticed, and they were installed anyway, and we were left to work with the subcontractor ourselves to get it resolved. All of this made the process far more stressful than it needed to be. We also had an incident where workers blew out the battery backup that we used to protect our internet equipment by using it to plug in power tools, rather than plugging them into an appropriate wall socket. When it overloaded, it damaged electronics that were plugged into it, and triggered an alarm on the device that I had to go shut off. At the time, I was in a cast and using crutches but had to climb a set of stairs to go deal with it because the workers did not know what to do and there was no one else supervising. Renovations are stressful enough, I wouldn't recommend adding to your stress by working with JAG.

We needed major work done at our new house in Cranford. New kitchen, new master bathroom, install…read morenumerous recess lighting, removing old carpeting and refinishing hardwood floors underneath. Steve, the owner, was our project manager. At first, I was hesitant when I learned he sub-contracts most of the work. For our last house, we hired a contractor that did most of the work himself. We had issues back then with uneven tiles, cabinets not correctly aligned, bad grout work, leaky drains. Steve, on the other hand, brings in all professionals to do most the work. He manged the project and also did all the paperwork regarding permits. He has a portfolio of professional contractors that he brought in. Besides the typical plumber and electricians, there was a tile company, carpenter, sheetrock company, glass company, cabinet and trim company just to name a few. And most if not all of them are from neighboring towns like Westfield, Clark, Elizabeth, Union and Newark which helps with timing and staying on schedule. The work they perform were solid. No more leaky drains or uneven floors like our last house. We will not go back to a one person that does all-type of contractor from now on. It's much better working with specialist in their field. Regarding the kitchen reno, we had a wall removed between the kitchen and dining rooms. All new appliances, cabinets, countertops, new tiled flooring and backsplash, recess lighting, and added a 2nd mini kitchen sink. Also new under cabinet floor heating and a glass panel door leading to our basement that Steve recommended. For the master bath, we expanded the size of the corner shower by reducing the size of an adjoining closet, added new vanity, tiles, exhause fan and glass shower door. Steve is very detail orientated. He cares more about the final product rather than getting the job done quick and cheap. Our kitchen and master bath went from looking like 1970s to present day. We have no regrets with using Juzefyk Brothers construction and would highly recommend them to our friends and family.
