I had MDR give me a quote (along with a few other firms) to split a large upstairs space, adding a wall and door and basically making a bedroom out of part of it. The quote was around the middle of the ones I saw, and I got a good vibe from Michael, so I decided to go with them. I'm incredibly happy with the work they did - they matched the existing features (trim, door style etc) of the house perfectly. They had good ideas and brought up things to consider, and additional costs for any changes along the way were reasonable. The guys who worked at my house were incredibly friendly and polite. The work turned out amazing - better than I had even hoped. Can't recommend them enough and will definitely go back to them for any similar work in the future. read more

Had a great experience with MDR Home Improvement. They installed vinyl front step railings for us and did an awesome job from start to finish. They were incredibly responsive over text, which made scheduling and communication really easy. The team showed up on time, worked efficiently, and completed the installation way faster than I expected. Everything was done cleanly and professionally, and the finished railings look great. The whole process felt smooth and stress-free. Would definitely use them again and highly recommend! read more

Michael and his team were absolutely phenomenal. We had a very tight timeline and they managed to not only complete everything on time but also with great care and quality. They did our floors, roof, interior and exterior painting, lighting, and completely remodeled our 2 bathrooms. The thing I appreciated the most is that he kept us in the loop on the progress and was a great consultant to us. We are first time home buyers and it was great to be able to get his advice. Highly recommend them and we are already thinking of new projects to work with Michael on! Also shout out to Matt and Jay - best team ever! read more

Michael and his team did an amazing job on our bathroom remodel. Not only did he meet our needs, he exceeded our expectations. The reason why I chose Michael and his team to work on our bathroom is because he was honest about his availability and had good ideas for how to improve the bathroom. Once Michael and his team started working on the remodel, we were impressed by his attention to detail. We also encountered some unexpected problems on demolition day, but the team was flexible and able to fix it. Most of all Michael's team was very personable and easy to work with. I didn't feel awkward asking for things to be changed or added. The team had a positive can do attitude. Mostly, before they left each day, they cleaned the floors and surrounding area so it didn't look like a construction site. It looked immaculate. Overall the bathroom remodel took 2.5 weeks. Right on time. Now the bathroom is our favorite room. We highly recommend this team! read more

Mike & his team took on the bathroom project in our 80yr old condo. From the very beginning, the whole process was seamless. There were a few issues lurking behind the walls but they were able to correct them & make us feel great that the bathroom was finally done right! Tile work was top notch & the fit and finish was night and day. Every night the team showed up promptly, cleaned upon exiting & made sure to contain the dust and mess to a minimum My wife and I would 100% used MDR again & have already referred neighbors and friends read more

As an update to my original post, we hired Mike and team a year later to fix the outside of our house and it exceeded our expectations, which were already sky high based on how our interior turned out. Mike and team updated our insulation and siding, painted our house, and installed and painted new doors/shudders and accessories. It came out amazing so now the outside matches the inside! If there was an option to give Mike and team more than 5 stars, we would! We would recommend him for any job no matter how big or small! read more

My wife and I bought a new house a year ago and I have found it difficult to find good contractors I felt I could communicate with and rely on. Michael was two days out from his wedding, but took the time to talk with me late in the afternoon to advise me on my job. He got me the quote not long after the wedding and worked the job in fairly quickly after that. His crew was friendly, communicated well, and kept things cleaned up. The work they did was also very clean and blended well with the existing tile. the price was reasonable and payment was easy through a PayPal-generated invoice. I have yet to test out the shower that was leaking to confirm the issue was solved, but based on my experience so far I have full confidence that they will take care of us if we do need further assistance. I wouldn't hesitate to hire MDR again. read more

Mike and his team did an amazing job with my basement renovation. I was worried about working with a contractor as all I've heard is horror stories on how they never show up when they say they will, and jobs take 3 times as long and cost twice as much as they say. Everything pretty much went as planned and Mike communicated everything to me the entire way. I couldn't be happier with how everything came out. They put in new laminate floors, put drywall up over the wood paneling, installed recessed lighting, new baseboards & crown molding and a new 8ft sliding glass door. My shed was actually crushed by a tree the week before they started the job, so they ended up doing the demo and installation of the new shed as well. Now I'm just thinking about what other projects I can have them work on for me next! read more

Glad I hired MDR to fix up my bathroom. Was tired on waiting on my lazy landlord to get up and fix it up so I hired Mike and his crew! Needed some tile work done and my vanity replaced along with some other minor things. They were very professional and completed the job as I anticipated and expected. I thought Mike was very fair in his pricing in comparison to other quotes I received. Some contractors did not even seem as interested as the work seemed not worth there time I felt. That is probably why I got such high quotes. But in came Mike and his team to the rescue. He truly stands by "No job too small" or probably too big in that matter. Overall I had great service and I am a satisfied customer. I plan to use him again and refer him in the future! Thank you Mike!!!! read more

We had planned on doing our bathroom remodel last year just before the pandemic hit. As the pandemic was winding down we reached out to several companies and Michael from MDR was very responsive to our inquiries. He conducted the a virtual walk through of the work needing to be done and we saw first hand how his crew cleaned up while they were on another worksite to the extent of sweeping and vacuuming the the homeowners driveway after the day's work was completed. From the onset Michael from MDR was professional, knowledgeable and courteous concerning the remodel of our bathroom. He encouraged us to ask any questions even if they were after hours. He put us at ease and made us feel like no project was to small. Once we hired MDR and the work commenced, we received daily updates on the progress of the project. Michael and his great team (Thank you Matt and Jay!) did an outstanding job with with special attention to details. Our bathroom is gorgeous! We highly recommend MDR to anyone looking for an honest, reliable contractor and a beautifully finished project. read more

MDR recently installed new back doors for us and we could t be more happier! They replaced the back door and storm door and added a storm door to the front. They made sure to take their time and were very meticulous on every single detail. They tested everything along the way and cleaned up. The guys also noticed that one of the storm doors had some damage when opening it up, they brought it back to Home Depot for us and replaced it. Michael made sure to stop by and review everything and noticed a small rubber piece on the front was missing and purchased it and sent it directly to the house! He offered to come back to install but it was easy enough to pop right in. Highly recommend! Very nice job, great people! read more

This is a long overdue review. In 2019, I had contacted Michael to remodel a small bathroom and replace our roof. In the end, we chose to go with another company, but I truly appreciate the prompt engagement and pleasant communication even after I told him about going in another direction. read more

Michael and his crew are such a pleasure to work with. From booking the appointment until completion, they showed nothing but professionalism and courtesy. After a less than ideal experience with a previous contractor Michael and the entire MDR crew have renewed my faith that there are still honest hardworking contractors. Michael took the time to discuss different options and suggested several cosmetic and cost saving ideas that I didn't even know were available. I am absolutely in love with my new kitchen. As the owner of an older home with several more upgrades to come MDR will be my go to contractor from now on. read more

Mike, Matt, and Jason were very professional and respectful. We were in a bind with terrible work done from previous contractors. We bought a home that had a lot more problems then we thought. Mike and his crew came to the rescue and brought out our homes full potential. My experience with MDR Home Improvement was great! From the very start Michael is very responsive and their prices reasonable and competitive. Michael did some work on two properties I was selling. He worked with me to come up with solutions that made sense and would save me money as well as materials that were also cost efficient. I love how Michael always took my needs into consideration and was professional and polite every step of the way. I received both quotes the same day he visited both homes and When both projects were completed it was like he was never even there. He left the places cleaner than what they were before. In my line of business I deal with a lot of contractors and trust me when I tell you people like Michael are hard to find. I highly recommend MDR Home Improvement. You will not be disappointed. read more

The experience that I had with MDR was great. Not only is Michael personable, but he is also timely when it comes to estimates. Glows: -Fair prices -Timely response -Friendly -Professional -Receipts provided -Cleaned the mess and discarded the trash associated with Probably my favorite lol) Make sure to give this guy a call. He did some work around my apartment and didn't try to price gouge me like others did. I would definitely recommend him and plan on using his services again! read more

I called to obtain a quote for HVAC maintenance and finishing a basement twice no one ever answered my messages. I called again received a lackluster answer for my call from someone who did not identify himself or the company. I needed an average quote for a small basement job for a house I am purchasing I was told to text pictures and I gave a few details . Although my information was limited I was hoping for at least a ball park figure to estimate my spending. No response or feedback was ever given to me. From the attitude/ vibe I am certain I will never receive any follow-up. read more

Michael put together the most thorough estimate for a brand new roof. He took pictures and explained what he saw to conclude that there were two layers of shingles already, unlike what the home inspector said about having just 1 layer. He also actually went up to the roof to walk it before putting together his written estimate, which gave me more confidence that we wouldn't run into unexpected issues. Michael was also very responsive via text and phone to my many questions throughout the whole process. He gave us fair guidance on the different kinds of materials available and the pros/cons. He and his crew worked quickly but carefully, putting down tarps to make cleanup easier and to protect our siding. read more

Michael and his team were great. We had some drywall damage that we needed repaired. I reached out to Michael and we discussed briefly over text message. He came out a few days later, gave us a fair quote right away, and his team was at our home the next morning and got right to work on the repairs. They completed the work promptly and were very friendly. They even patched up another small part of the drywall as a courtesy service. I will be reaching back out if / when we need any more work. Thank you read more

Super friendly guys - Michael and Neil were extremely easy to work with. Sometimes contractors can be kind of gruff or intimidating to be around, but Michael and Neil were different. I felt they were approachable and patient when it came to questions and clarifications, and they never talked down to me or made me feel stupid -- and I had A LOT of questions as they changed my front and back door, plus two storm doors. The front door was especially challenging as they had to cut/redo the frame, and we have a very old house. It was more work than expected, but Michael never complained or made us feel bad about it. He took the additional work in stride, in a good mood at all times. Initially, we had some issues with our storm door closing properly and the lock missing a bracket piece, and he immediately addressed it when he came back the following week. He took our concerns seriously. It's very obvious he loves what he does and takes great pride in it. If I commented about wanting an extra lock or something, he would immediately offer to run to Home Depot to pick it up for me. They both took the time to clean up after themselves as there was a lot of dust, wood pieces. Worked steadily, efficiently, barely saw them even take a break to eat lunch! They did full days, from around 9-7 PM! Polite as well, always asking whether they could use the sink to wash their hands or go to the bathroom. Responsive during the estimate scheduling, as well as when to begin the work. A little bit back and forth or miscommunication when it came to deciding when to start. I thought we were starting a certain day, but he texted me one day and wanted to begin the following day. Was not a problem for me, as I have a flexible schedule with work, but if you have a more rigid schedule, it's best to set a hard date/time to begin. Very honest, as he provided all his receipts upfront whenever he picked up supplies or needed anything extra. Came back when he said that he would to dispose of the old doors, since it could not fit everything in his truck at one time. Offered multiple times to come back and do any touch ups or sanding another day (we had some plaster work and it didn't dry on the same day.) Also fun to be around, Michael and I enjoyed some chit chat here and there about the house, renovation projects, home improvement shows. He even had suggestions and tips for work to be done, or paint colors to use. Would recommend! read more

Mike and his team are fantastic. True to their word. That is hard to find in a contractor. They installed an outside door for me, cleaned my gutters and repaired my chimney. We found MDR Home Improvement on Yelp and asked him if they can come to give us an estimate on repairs. Michael was able to come early the next morning. He arrived on time and was courteous, professional and forthright. His honesty can be demonstrated by virtue of the fact that even though we called him for an estimate, in his professional opinion he came to the conclusion that no repairs were necessary. That's honest. We will happily call on MDR on our next home improvement project. read more

I had the pleasure of hiring MDR Home Improvement to renovate my bathroom. I had met with Michael prior to the pandemic but had to postpone due to the circumstances. In July, we scheduled the demo date. The workers at MDR are true professionals Michael, Neil, Milton and Matthew. Everyday they would do their best to leave my home with the least amount of dust as possible. I was told my bathroom renovation would take approximately 2 weeks to complete but due to the pandemic and practically every item I selected for my bathroom being a special order it took about 4 weeks (no fault of MDR). I am very pleased with the outcome and would highly recommend reaching out to MDR Home Improvement. The team clearly communicated all the stages of my bathroom renovation and even when there were issues (expect this when renovating an older home) MDR explained all the steps to remedy the issue. In the end I couldn't be happier with the end result and I am happy with the decision to hire MDR Home Improvement. Thank you again! read more

From start to finish, my experience with MDR home improvement was great. We wanted to finish our basement. They were quick to come out to my house, provide a quote and timeline as to when to expect the work to start and finish. Once work was started the offered their opinion on adding a sump-pump and french drains. They were by far the most reasonably priced and the payment method was easy.
