Tony is the absolute Gold Standard when it comes to contractors. Where do I start? First of all…read morehe is the nicest person. His work is impeccable! He does not use subcontractors. He is completely on top of every detail of the project. We have never had a more responsive contractor. I can text him anytime and he immediately gets back to me. He sends photos of everything. For instance, he did our roof and it turned out the plywood under the shingles were not the right thickness and incredibly damaged. So, instead of having to take his word for it, as is the case with most contractors, he sent videos of what was up there so that I could decide what to do accordingly. There is no scope of work that he can't take on. For us, he renovated our family room, redid a bathroom, renovated a basement room, tiled our entry way, completely renovated a sunroom that had major water damage and mold, and gave us an new roof. And, he did all of that in 4 weeks, which is crazy fast! Tony can do anything! And I trust him completely because he is so conscientious, honest, and always does things the right way (absolutely no cutting corners). I can't speak highly enough of him. We are so happy to have met him! I already have many future projects in mind for him.

Based on our conversation it's clear that they both care immensely about their clientele - retained or not. The simple fact that they reached out personally to understand the situation demonstrates their commitment to customer satisfaction. While there was a missed opportunity in the past, I will absolutely consider them for future projects down the line. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We had a tree severely damage our house and needed extensive repairs. While doing the necessary repairs to the home through insurance we also decided to take the opportunity to remodel our kitchen and dining room areas out of pocket. Magnolia was one of the contractors we brought in for a price quote. The contractor who came out was extremely condescending and belittling - assuming that my wife and I could not afford the cost of the project. On multiple occasions the contractor made unnecessary comments related to the anticipated costs of the remodel - alluding to our assumed inability to afford the scope of the work. Needless to say we took our business elsewhere and couldn't be happier with the outcome of the work done. There are plenty of contractors in the market that will deliver a high quality product without thumbing their nose at you or assuming that they're too good for any job. If you want a company that acts like they're elite but only deliver the same outcome as anyone else - look no further - this is a great choice for you. However, I'd suggest you avoid the holier than thou attitude and find someone who will not only get the job done, but also treat you right.

I hired Sea Beast Design & Construction (Sebastian Barbagallo) as General Contractor for a…read moreresidential project in Fair Lawn, NJ under a written contract in March 2026.. I paid Sea Beast $68,190 against the contract and separately paid $17,176 directly for materials I had no contractual obligation to pay -- $85,366 total -- yet MULTIPLE major scope items remained incomplete or not meaningfully progressed with only weeks left on the schedule. These included the porticos, exterior brick samples, simple framing and finish details, unable to install simple door hardware, the HVAC condenser pad (the condenser itself was paid for but not on site), step repointing and masonry, main electrical service, exterior hardware, interior doors (despite a $3,000 advance for them), and the kitchen, which was never properly coordinated, ordered or released. Sea Beast also failed to provide the conditional lien waivers, a simple bill that wasn't a demand for money that needs to be today which was required with each progress payment, and continued to demand additional payment while materially overbilled relative to work completed. I issued a formal Notice of Performance Issue on April 4, 2026 requiring a written cure plan, manpower and sequencing plan, procurement status, revised schedule, lien waivers, and payment reconciliation. Sea Beast acknowledged receipt but did not provide the required cure documentation. I issued a Notice of Default on April 8, 2026 under the contract's default provision, which required cure commencement within 36 hours. The required cure was not provided. I terminated the contract for default and am pursuing damages. I would not hire Sea Beast Design & Construction again and would not recommend them for residential general contracting work. I've filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau and the NJ Division of Consumer Affairs.
