Updating because I realize with how busy they get it's unrealistic to constantly pull list. Prices are reasonable environment is always clean and staff is super friendly. They have good selection and great price pull for commander days. I'll keep shopping and keep coming here.

So I came in for the Mutant Ninja Turtle prerelease with a few friends who were super new to Magic, let alone sealed deck building. The event was very easy to get into, the setup felt very roomy and not so cramped like other places. The staff was super friendly and kindly answered any questions. Pairing was easy with the app. But that's not why I'm writing this: 1. They have in-store pickup for their inventory on TCGPlayer which saved me a ton in shipping and helped me finish my Black Cat Deck! 2. Being someone with ADHD, I forget things.....a lot. So imagine how I felt when I realized (an hour away) that I left my prerelease deck box at the store (with SUPER SHREDDER)! I figured someone would have taken it by this point or found it and kept the cards. NOPE! I called the following day and they had my box, they asked specifically what was in the box, and took down both mine and my partners names to pick it up. They protected that thing like it was their own. It meant a lot to me personally having had cards stolen by EMPLOYEES in the past. (Still had my shredder) 3. The people here are super friendly, very LGBT+ inclusive, which was super nice given the hobby. I got to just be my gay little self. All in all, this place is wonderful and I will gladly drive an hour just to come play here when I can

Great store for game cards (MTG, pokemon, etc) but nothing for sports cards. Tons of tables, chairs, and room.

My friends and I agreed it's a great place if you want to go and try out some games before purchasing elsewhere. I love the setup. It's so chill. You're able to bring outside food and drinks. It is an amazing place for board and tabletop game enthusiasts to hang out and play games. The ambience is fantastic. The themed room that are available for rent are also quite nice. We have since formed a rather large group to go here regularly. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful in whatever you're playing if you need help. The fact that you can also bring your own drinks (as long as lidded) and food is a huge plus. They do sell packaged snacks and drinks, but no full meals if you want to stay for a while. There's Thai, Chinese, and Taco Bell all within walking distance if you need a full meal. There's also regularly scheduled events almost every night and weekend. It's such an amazing place, and super LGBTQ+ friendly also. The store and merch they sell are also cute. All in all, I'm so grateful for this place to be in Riverside. We've made many new friends already and can't wait for more.

Gamer's Haven is a relaxing place to play role playing games and such away from home with like minded people. Most of the gamers connect through the website meetup which shows the date and times gaming groups play. They regularly look for new players. The establishment has an extensive collection of roleplaying books for a variety of games. Think of it as a library of sorts only devoted to roleplaying. The owner/manager(s) (Dave) are thoughtful and considerate men who appear to run their business 1st to provide an atmosphere where grownups can enjoy each others company like a book or chess club only role playing games. Dungeons and Dragons, Pathfinder, Warhammer 40k, Rifts and card games like Exploding Unicorns and such. They have three private rooms for private gaming. The place is mature. You can bring your own beer as no one there is under 21 and everyone is polite. They have a membership program ($35 a month) but you can pay by the day ($5 a day). First day of play is free as a trail to see if you like it. They take cash, venmo, etc. They also have some paints and figurines if your into personalizing your character piece. Gaming materials (dice and such) for sale and can order. They even have a 3d print you can use by the hour (they charge by the hour). I like their snack section that comes with a number of candy bars, nuts, ramon, ice cream bars and drinks. They have a microwave, frig, and sink.the place is made up of 3 sections. The back appears to be dedicated to Warhammer 40k. They have free wi-fi at Gamer's Haven too. Overall I think the place is a must see once in your life as an alternative to the library. Your not in an awkward position of having people over late at night if you have kids and such. However, unlike the library their hours are open past 8 pm. I think members can stay after management leaves with membership access. They have security cc cameras inside and the doors lock after you leave. Atmosphere: 6 star. Clean. Fair temperature. Wifi Service: 5 star. Quality: 5 star. They have a gaming table with a monitor. A collection of gaming books. Value: not sure of the going rate in the industry. Still if one lives close enough and has they friend to play with its better than online gaming or watching TV

Game Nights Cafe - Look at the selection and space!

    Game Nights Cafe

    (16 reviews)

Over the past year, we placed pre-orders for five separate releases. Five times, we were let down…read more Each time, we chose to support Game Nights because we believe in backing local game stores and building a healthy community. Each time, that trust was misplaced. Not only did we fail to receive our pre-orders on all five occasions, but the owner never once reached out to inform us that the products had not arrived. Every single time, we had to contact him ourselves on release day to discover--again--that nothing was coming. That lack of communication is what hurts the most. Even if product allocation was an issue, there was no courtesy, no transparency, and no respect shown toward loyal customers who planned ahead and committed to pre-order their products from Game Nights. A simple message would have allowed us to secure our orders elsewhere. Instead, we were left in the dark--repeatedly--and were informed too late to buy products at MSRP. This isn't just unprofessional; it makes it incredibly difficult to justify supporting this store at all. Adding to the frustration, the owner has also begun removing gaming space, further destroying the community that once made this shop special. Game Nights used to feel like a true community hub--a place where people gathered around Yu-Gi-Oh, One Piece, MTG, board games, parties, special occasions, and more. Now, it feels like a business focused solely on extracting every possible dollar, with little regard for the community that helped build it. We understand that running an LGS is hard. We can empathize with the challenges of keeping a struggling business afloat. What we cannot excuse is the ongoing, disrespect toward the very customers who go out of their way to offer consistent support, only to be mistreated time and time again. If you're looking to reliably pre-order TCG products, we strongly recommend considering these alternatives in the area: Lost Level - Strong community, active Discord, and dependable pre-orders A&N Collectible - Community could improve, but pre-orders are consistent Miss Play - New and growing; pre-orders may vary, but the community is welcoming Side Quest - Beautiful space; we haven't pre-ordered yet, but plan to in the future Ultimately, the repeated failures, lack of communication, and disregard for loyal customers are driving people away and have reduced this store to an empty shell of its former self. We mourn the loss of what was once a beautiful third space for our community, and it is deeply tragic that the owner shows no willingness to change. Supporting local businesses only works when that support is respected and reciprocated--and here, it simply wasn't. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Response to Kylan S.: While you may not have explicitly labeled them as "pre-orders," these transactions were consistently discussed as such with your players, and no clarifications were made regarding this "wish list." This left many members of the community with the clear impression that products had been reserved. Instead of out right lying to them, you are now having them lie to themselves. Your response only reinforces the concern about the lack of professional and transparent communication with your supporters. If this same level of clarity carries over to your distributors, it is unfortunately not surprising that product availability has been an ongoing issue. Thank you for the apology. We hope that Game Nights can one day return to being the space our community once loved.

After losing the Game Haus to post-pandemic fallout, there's been a sense of loss in the gaming…read morecommunity. Sure, it was pretty far away (Glendale) from Riverside, but I always enjoyed the trek and good times. Fortunately, Kyle, opened the Game Nights Cafe about 1.5 years ago as of this writing (01/01/2025), and the two-level shop and gamespace provides games to purchase, an impressive library of games to play in-house, and necessary hobby materials, such as Citadel paint, brushes, tools, and even a nifty airbrush set for about $70. After two visits here I'm Reviewing the shop, setting, atmosphere, and special New Year's Eve event. First, my long-time gaming buddy happened upon the store while antique shopping across the street. While Gameology in Upland has been our go-to, the initial appeal was the later hours of operation, especially on Sundays, the day we typically line up. There's a game cover fee, a reasonable $6 per player and good for the entire day. Otherwise, as Kyle mentioned to me, people would stay all day and not even purchase anything. Purchases, however, do offset the cover charge. The basement is where the bright track lights make the full-lenghth space inviting. Many hundreds of games line one wall. All are available for anyone wanting to play. And a significant number of tables and comfortable chairs are another draw. There's also a sizeable space upstairs adjacent to the retail area for games. Kyle invited us to come back for New Year's Eve for food, beverages, and a generous playtime that surpassed 2am. For $40 I was down, especially when I saw how much food was provided. A fullscale Middle Eastern feast, as well as charcuterie, sides, and desserts. Wow! The crowd was also fun and my group quickly befriended another and we played lots of fun games that could support 6 players, including Heat, Acquire, and Inca Gold. All three were in the extensive library previously referenced. In short, they host many events for Magic the Gathering (MTG), Dungeons and Dragons, open play nights, and hopefully more NYE celebrations. Finally, they also have a lot of games and things marked down for quick sales, so consider browsing. Not far away is the Glass House, and somewhere close by is Zoink Records.
