Nice people overall, definitely a place I'd come back to because their stock is always changing out. Prices are based off tcgplayer which is nicer than ebay/scalp prices for sure, but a lot of their cards ARE mint or near mint so you will pay a lot more for a card than if it were lightly or moderately played, which is fine, but kind of is a downside if you just want an authentic card in your collection and not necessarily to grade. So just look to tcgplayer and filter NM card for accurate pricing of what you'll most likely pay. Nice place! And employees are knowledgeable and nice.

Over the past year, we placed pre-orders for five separate releases. Five times, we were let down…read more Each time, we chose to support Game Nights because we believe in backing local game stores and building a healthy community. Each time, that trust was misplaced. Not only did we fail to receive our pre-orders on all five occasions, but the owner never once reached out to inform us that the products had not arrived. Every single time, we had to contact him ourselves on release day to discover--again--that nothing was coming. That lack of communication is what hurts the most. Even if product allocation was an issue, there was no courtesy, no transparency, and no respect shown toward loyal customers who planned ahead and committed to pre-order their products from Game Nights. A simple message would have allowed us to secure our orders elsewhere. Instead, we were left in the dark--repeatedly--and were informed too late to buy products at MSRP. This isn't just unprofessional; it makes it incredibly difficult to justify supporting this store at all. Adding to the frustration, the owner has also begun removing gaming space, further destroying the community that once made this shop special. Game Nights used to feel like a true community hub--a place where people gathered around Yu-Gi-Oh, One Piece, MTG, board games, parties, special occasions, and more. Now, it feels like a business focused solely on extracting every possible dollar, with little regard for the community that helped build it. We understand that running an LGS is hard. We can empathize with the challenges of keeping a struggling business afloat. What we cannot excuse is the ongoing, disrespect toward the very customers who go out of their way to offer consistent support, only to be mistreated time and time again. If you're looking to reliably pre-order TCG products, we strongly recommend considering these alternatives in the area: Lost Level - Strong community, active Discord, and dependable pre-orders A&N Collectible - Community could improve, but pre-orders are consistent Miss Play - New and growing; pre-orders may vary, but the community is welcoming Side Quest - Beautiful space; we haven't pre-ordered yet, but plan to in the future Ultimately, the repeated failures, lack of communication, and disregard for loyal customers are driving people away and have reduced this store to an empty shell of its former self. We mourn the loss of what was once a beautiful third space for our community, and it is deeply tragic that the owner shows no willingness to change. Supporting local businesses only works when that support is respected and reciprocated--and here, it simply wasn't. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Response to Kylan S.: While you may not have explicitly labeled them as "pre-orders," these transactions were consistently discussed as such with your players, and no clarifications were made regarding this "wish list." This left many members of the community with the clear impression that products had been reserved. Instead of out right lying to them, you are now having them lie to themselves. Your response only reinforces the concern about the lack of professional and transparent communication with your supporters. If this same level of clarity carries over to your distributors, it is unfortunately not surprising that product availability has been an ongoing issue. Thank you for the apology. We hope that Game Nights can one day return to being the space our community once loved.

Sure, it was pretty far away (Glendale) from Riverside, but I always enjoyed the trek and good times. Fortunately, Kyle, opened the Game Nights Cafe about 1.5 years ago as of this writing (01/01/2025), and the two-level shop and gamespace provides games to purchase, an impressive library of games to play in-house, and necessary hobby materials, such as Citadel paint, brushes, tools, and even a nifty airbrush set for about $70. After two visits here I'm Reviewing the shop, setting, atmosphere, and special New Year's Eve event. First, my long-time gaming buddy happened upon the store while antique shopping across the street. While Gameology in Upland has been our go-to, the initial appeal was the later hours of operation, especially on Sundays, the day we typically line up. There's a game cover fee, a reasonable $6 per player and good for the entire day. Otherwise, as Kyle mentioned to me, people would stay all day and not even purchase anything. Purchases, however, do offset the cover charge. The basement is where the bright track lights make the full-lenghth space inviting. Many hundreds of games line one wall. All are available for anyone wanting to play. And a significant number of tables and comfortable chairs are another draw. There's also a sizeable space upstairs adjacent to the retail area for games. Kyle invited us to come back for New Year's Eve for food, beverages, and a generous playtime that surpassed 2am. For $40 I was down, especially when I saw how much food was provided. A fullscale Middle Eastern feast, as well as charcuterie, sides, and desserts. Wow! The crowd was also fun and my group quickly befriended another and we played lots of fun games that could support 6 players, including Heat, Acquire, and Inca Gold. All three were in the extensive library previously referenced. In short, they host many events for Magic the Gathering (MTG), Dungeons and Dragons, open play nights, and hopefully more NYE celebrations. Finally, they also have a lot of games and things marked down for quick sales, so consider browsing. Not far away is the Glass House, and somewhere close by is Zoink Records.

Gamer's Haven is a relaxing place to play role playing games and such away from home with like minded people. Most of the gamers connect through the website meetup which shows the date and times gaming groups play. They regularly look for new players. The establishment has an extensive collection of roleplaying books for a variety of games. Think of it as a library of sorts only devoted to roleplaying. The owner/manager(s) (Dave) are thoughtful and considerate men who appear to run their business 1st to provide an atmosphere where grownups can enjoy each others company like a book or chess club only role playing games. Dungeons and Dragons, Pathfinder, Warhammer 40k, Rifts and card games like Exploding Unicorns and such. They have three private rooms for private gaming. The place is mature. You can bring your own beer as no one there is under 21 and everyone is polite. They have a membership program ($35 a month) but you can pay by the day ($5 a day). First day of play is free as a trail to see if you like it. They take cash, venmo, etc. They also have some paints and figurines if your into personalizing your character piece. Gaming materials (dice and such) for sale and can order. They even have a 3d print you can use by the hour (they charge by the hour). I like their snack section that comes with a number of candy bars, nuts, ramon, ice cream bars and drinks. They have a microwave, frig, and sink.the place is made up of 3 sections. The back appears to be dedicated to Warhammer 40k. They have free wi-fi at Gamer's Haven too. Overall I think the place is a must see once in your life as an alternative to the library. Your not in an awkward position of having people over late at night if you have kids and such. However, unlike the library their hours are open past 8 pm. I think members can stay after management leaves with membership access. They have security cc cameras inside and the doors lock after you leave. Atmosphere: 6 star. Clean. Fair temperature. Wifi Service: 5 star. Quality: 5 star. They have a gaming table with a monitor. A collection of gaming books. Value: not sure of the going rate in the industry. As a DM for D&D and (thanks to this store) newly a Warhammer player, I can speak to the fact that this store's selection for both games surpasses in quality, quantity, and presentation most other game stores in the area. Their restocks are frequent(seemingly weekly) and always introduce new product, which makes the trip there a no brainer if you live in the area and worth the time if you live farther. The owner is friendly, knowledgeable about his stuff, and truly embodies the vibe of a FLGS -- top notch customer service, a welcoming environment, giving advice where needed and genuinely caring about the quality of your experience with whatever hobby you choose without being pushy. The selection is amazing, and I always look forward to coming here purely because of the amount of quality product. Miniatures of all scale and need are neatly stocked on racks that appeal well to the eye, and they're not afraid to try new product styles. I've always been intrigued about D&D prepainted booster boxes online, but typically the ones I find at other stores are older or more beat up, but here, they're the newest, fresh-off-the-line boxes, and I just had to get some. The owner is very receptive to requests, and at checkout, has asked numerous times what I'd like to see or what I'd want to have stocked myself, which is amazing and has definitely as a whole fostered a loyal relationship with me and this store. The pre-order system is also very nice, offering discounts from MSRP with good communication and a fantastic one-man customer service model that accommodates requests very well and corresponds effectively with consumers. I am tremendously glad to have found a gem of a store so close to home and am long overdue for this review, and hope that this game store continues to keep their friendly vibe and expand to bigger and better things. When I asked if there was anything they could do since I was specifically instructed to come back at that time, the employee at the front basically acted indifferent and just said there was nothing they could do. I've been in retail for years, and entering inventory into a system is not some massive impossible task. This honestly came across as laziness and a complete lack of concern for customer satisfaction. Don't tell customers to come back at a specific time if you're not actually prepared to follow through. Traffic and gas prices in Southern California are terrible. People are spending real time and money to come support your business, so at least be considerate of that when making promises to customers. I understand inventory processing takes time, but communication and effort matter. A simple apology or attempt to help would have gone a long way. The store is large and packed with product, but there also weren't many customers there, which makes the lack of urgency even more frustrating. The owner should seriously consider improving management and customer service standards because experiences like this are exactly why customers stop coming back.
