Not recommend for dumplings- we got the meat ones and found them very large and doughy (too much dough). The veggie lo mein was good but the veggies were a little over cooked. we went here yesterday. i actually wanted fried rice but the place that i usually get it from has permanently closed so i was looking to try and find another place with good fried rice. their menu is good however their portions are a joke. i got their chicken fried rice and my boyfriend got their hunan something that comes with steak shrimps and white rice. tell my why my whole order was the size of my boyfriends white rice!!! not worth the $! also their fried rice didn't have any eggs or vegetables! i'm so sad that global garden closed because they had bomb fried rice and for 8$ you would get fried rice chicken small soup and pickled something! their service is okay we didn't dine in so don't know but they didn't give us any cutlery. I've eaten from this place since I was a child; over 18 years now and I have always enjoyed their food. Today, while eating lunch with my husband, we found pieces of decaying tooth in our rice. He had pork fried rice and I had shrimp fried rice. It was the most disgusting thing I have ever come across. Please do not eat at this location. The food here used to be pretty good. Much to my and my family's regret I picked up a Chinese takeout from this establishment. My wife took one fork full of Singapore noodles and threw the rest in the trash can. I ordered Szechuan Beef and made the added mistake of asking them to make it a little spicier than they normally cook it. I don't know whether the additional spice messed it up or whether it always has absolutely no taste to it. You can't taste the carrots, celery or even the beef. I can't explain what each of those three ingredients taste of other than to say if you eat them individually they each taste exactly the same as each other i.e. Blah. The kids shared an order of sweet & sour chicken which was okay. The egg rolls were okay if a little soggy. The steamed rice was good. Obviously, we will not eat from here again, and add it to our list of Chinese food places to avoid in the future. We love Chinese food and there used to be several good or great places in the Woodbridge and Manassas area. But, it seems they have all been taken over by people who don't know how to cook good Chinese food. Why is it that Woodbridge is such a horrible place to eat? I have tried a few Chinese places in the area but Top China is definitely the best in Woodbridge. And by the best, I mean, I can order multiple items off of their menu and still enjoy all of the food. It is always hit or miss with Chinese food. There are so many restaurants out there that make the same dishes but they all taste very different. I have ordered their General Tso's chicken which is really good. They always give you a generous amount of chicken and it always tastes fresh. I love their lo mein! I mostly order vegetable, beef or shrimp lo mein and all have been good. The beef with broccoli and shrimp with broccoli in brown sauce are great as well! The crispy chicken wings, fried rice and fries are always on point. I have ordered their pan fried dumplings which are ok but they always seem to taste burnt and are a little on the greasy side. I think that also has to do with who is cooking that night because I have ordered them before and they were better. If you really want to taste a good pan fried dumpling, you must try Szechuan Gourmet off of Matthis Ave., Manassas, VA. I wish Top China could make their pan fried dumplings and dipping sauce because then I would never have to go to Szechuan Gourmet just for their dumplings. Overall, if you are in the mood for Chinese and live in Woodbridge, Top China is the place I would go. read more

This is a bit odd for me, having placed a great review only a month ago but...tonight's meal was horrendous. I asked for the gravy to be placed in a separate bowl so my egg foo yung could remain crisp and dry for serving. No such thing: it was soaking in gravy for the entire ride home. The rice was moist and didn't have flavor. Even the lady who took the call was an issue: she kept talking over our order, trying to predict what we wanted...and was wrong every time. Whatever you do do not order the general tso's shrimp. I literally am not exaggerating they cut one shrimp in half and then bread each piece. When I tell you there was nothing but breading. Great food! Ordered the sesame chicken, chicken lo me in and egg roll. The egg roll was tasty but a bit too greasy. Sesame chicken was very flavorful and filling. The portions are huge and less than $12! You'd think that only being $12 would be poor quality food but it's the opposite...everything was very fresh. Great service too. Very good food, also very fresh & well cooked/seasoned. I've never been eating their food & suddenly found myself picking in my plate wondering what that 1 random, weird tasting piece of "meat" or soggy vegetable, was I just ate. Also they're quick. This place is up and down. I ordered a shrimp dish which had no shrimp in it. It had what looked like shrimp pieces but not one whole shrimp. So after that I didn't come back for quite a while. Then when I finally tried it again I ordered the orange beef. It really was pretty horrible. It should be crisp and have a hint of the orange sauce. This was loaded with a very thick gooey horrible sauce. I ate some and threw out the rest. After that orange beef I don't know if I will ever return. Ordered from here for the first time. We ordered Sesame chicken and Cleopatra chicken. The sauce was extremely heavy and thick. The sesame chicken was really chewy. The Cleopatra was pretty good. The best I have had in the area. It gets 3 stars because I called and placed the order for pick-up. The guy gave me and charged me for extra rice even after me giving him my order 3 times. I was also charged for and given full size entrees even after asking multiple times for a combination plate. Not really sure about the rating of this place and why it's just half a star short of out-of-this-world. We ordered crab rangoon, sweet&sour chicken, general tso's, and chicken lo mein at 9pm on a Sunday night (only because we were told they were open til 10, I'd never be "that 'guy'"). The total was $35.20 and we were quoted 45-50 minutes wait for delivery. I figured that's about average and it'll be here way sooner than that.. We live less than 5 miles away. After waiting over an hour, the snide driver shows up and gives my boyfriend an attitude!! About what?!?! Us having to wait over an hour orrrr....???? MIND BOGGLING!!! Whatever! FOOD'S FINALLY HERE!!! YESSS!!! My lo mein, the reason for our chinese order! I open it aaaaand.... Where's the chicken?? Oh, wait, there's a piece.... I think? OOH! Is that a carrot shaving there? Under the entire stalk of green onion? The noodles have a strange flavor and consistency... The general tso's sauce luckily had a great flavor (ordered upon the recommendation of another yelper, however not nearly as close to the best ever, as he claims =[), but literally three pieces of broccoli in the entire order. The fried rice sides: literally rice, soy sauce and an egg split between the two cartons (maybe). Not an onion, carrot or pea in sight... Kinda dry, a few crunchy pieces.... Oh boy. My boyfriend flat out says we're never ordering from here again before we even start eating. Why? His sweet and sour chicken is literally just fried chicken bits. We've never had it without onions and green peppers, and most the time, it even comes with pineapple. =^\ not this place... I was really excited about trying this place because of the reviews but I was unfortunately disappointed. I got the lunch portion of the sesame chicken with steamed rice. They only take a debit card if you spend more than $8 so I was also forced to buy a drink because I didn't have cash on me. The sauce on the chicken, as well as the rice were both delicious, however, the chicken itself was of very, very poor quality. The pieces were huge and consisted of about 95% breading. I came across several chewy, inedible pieces of gristle and cartilage, and eventually just gave up and only ate the rice. This meal would have been great if only the chicken were of higher quality. After viewing some reviews...and being hungry, I decided to give this place a shot. I'm pleasantly surprised, my 3 year old could not get enough Chicken Lo Mein, my 5 year old pigged out on the Sweet and Sour Pork, and my wife loved the Triple Delight. I loved them all...I was particularly impressed with how well everything was almost perfectly cooked. If you hate soggy veggies in your dish, consider the change.
