My all time favorite local Chinese rest with consistent excellent food over the years!

I'll give credit when credit is due the food is excellent. I'm a regular member I go at least once a week but on this specific day I went and I waited about 10 minutes to be served or older white couple came in and I was overlooked they went straight to the Caucasian couple like I didn't even exist well I got them and I expressed my concern to the young guy that serves the front of the restaurant and I left that and I haven't been back since customer service for everyone you don't have to opportunity to pick and choose who you serve first read more

Located in a small strip mall. Nothing jumps out to say eat here. Greeted and had open seating. Ordering was fairly easy. Same basic menu for this type of restaurant. Ordered the crab wonton which were ok but tasted a little too tough shell and chewy. Ordered General Tso chicken. Chicken was over cooked and chewy. Flavor was decent but not even spicy. Another order of sesame chicken. Same outcome as above. Service is one person while another answers phone for take out and plays on their phone. Probably will not come back. read more

I recently placed an Uber Eats order for China Wok and noticed they don't offer the ability to select a heat level or make any changes or comments to specific items, so I added in the final comments to make a dish spicy. They ended up adding on another $2.75 charge for this - RIDICULOUS! It doesn't cost them to put some pepper in, like they would any other entrée that already comes with it. Additionally, when I got the food, it was very bland and those I saw a few pepper flakes, they were hardly present and there definitely was no increased spiciness to the food. The egg drop soup was just as bland, I ended up loading both up with my own Sriracha sauce to add some heat to it. This was the second meal I've gotten from them that was bland and definitely didn't have much flavor to it, I'm done with them. BTW - I contacted Uber Eats about the $2.75 added on and they refunded it. read more

Overcooked and undercooked....depending on day...but a guarantee 1/2 your meal will be a huge disappointment. Shrimp uncooked most of the time sadly a throw out,chicken overcooked most of the time and horribly most dark meat. Too high priced for what you get,small portions too. So I've lived in Stafford for about 4 years and this was my first time trying this spot. Full disclosure, my reg spot closed and I needed a new one. The other place I order from, didn't make the Gen Tsos good so I took a chance here. I ordered Gen Tsos chicken, Szechuan String Beans and egg rolls. I got a side of fried rice with the GT and white rice with the green beans. Egg rolls - Good flavor, but way too little filling to wrapper ratio. I cut into it b/c this was an issue at another place. I don't understand why you can't just cut the wrapper if you're going to make small eggrolls. I guess they want them to look bigger and appear to be filled. But they are NOT. I ended up just eating around the filling and tossing the uncooked wrapping. It was very disappointing b/c egg rolls are my favorite. Fried rice was plain (meaning no meat) but I did expect it to have some veggies in it. But there was nothing! No peas, no carrots, no cabbage. Just rice with whatever sauce they use to make it brown. It did not taste good at all, very weird flavor and I had to toss it. So on to why they got 4 stars: The white rice was good, fluffy...glad they didn't mess that up b/c it would've been a travesty. The General Tsos was really good, it wasn't a super large portion but it was enough to where I could finish it (I made a couple of meals out if it). It reheated well and I appreciated the presentation. It looked amazing! The green beans, which is my fave veggie, were really good. I liked the sauce a lot, even tho I still needed a bit of salt to bring out the flavors, it was really good. They do have way too much sauce imo, but at least its enough to stir things around and get the veggies nice and coated when you're ready to eat them. But I ate the whole container over a couple of days, and I was really happy with it. So the verdict, I have somewhere to get my Gen Tsos and some veggies, so that's good at least. I'll have to just start keeping my own egg rolls in my freezer at the ready. read more

Literally just moved out here in Stafford , I had been looking for a great place to order Chinese food considering I have a sensitive stomach and have traveled so I know what quality food is. I give this a 8/10 I haven't tried everything yet but this definitely was the best and they were so nice and considerate enough to let us dine in close to closing time . read more

I called and placed a carry out order, she picked up and said hello and never stated the restaurant's name and then said can you hold. Man that is so unprofessional, OK whatever... So i ordered pork fried rice and an order of egg rolls to go. Egg rolls were the usual cabbages stuffed with meat, it was decent. I like the fact that it was not greasy. The pork fried rice was just OK, kinda bland. The green peas looked freezer burned, and it was kinda hard. I wonder how long that was stuffed in the back of the freezer. Over all I just think it's OK, just another Chinese carry out joint to me. I also order general tos chic and asked that the chicken not be hard the chicken is crunchy hard l, I see why their rating has dropped. Excellent service but not many competing customers for the attention of the wait staff at 4:30pm on a Saturday. I ordered the egg drop soup ($3.25) and it was as expected. I ordered the shrimp spring rolls ($6) and the three they brought me were quite tasty. I ordered the lemon chicken ($15) and it was as expected. I finished everything and ordered a glass of plum wine ($6.25) which was delicious. I'm visiting the area on business so I might try a different place if I get a hankering for Chinese food again but I wouldn't hesitate to return here to try something else. I think I'd order the beef with cashews next time and the hot and spicy soup. read more

If you're looking for an authentic or gourmet Chinese food experience, you'll probably want to keep searching, but this was decent for a delivery meal. I was feeling under the weather and wanted some soup/protein-based dishes. I called the delivery number and placed an order for the asparagus and king crab soup with sweet and sour shrimp. I didn't have any difficulties placing the order, and they gave me my total and an estimated wait time for delivery. The delivery driver arrived just a few minutes past the quoted time and was professional during the delivery. The bag was stuffed to the gills with the food and there were plenty of condiments on the side. If you want chopsticks, be sure to ask, as they were not included in the bag. I started with the soup and was very disappointed to see that the "king crab" was most definitely fake krab. (The price should have tipped me off.) However, the asparagus appeared to be pretty fresh and the soup tasted good with the egg. It also came with some wonton strips as garnish. The sweet and sour shrimp was thickly breaded and came with a bright-orange sauce. (They did leave off the green peppers, as I requested.) The shrimp also came with a side of rice. Again, it was decent for delivery food, but it's not something I would go out of my way to order again. Worst Chinese food I've ever had. The fried rice tasted like microwave bagged rice. No flavor at all. Not sure what else to say.

The cool thing about this restaurant is that someone in the kitchen is clearly Thai--there are plenty of Thai soup, stir-fry, curry, and noodle options to choose from. We had the fried calamari (light batter, sweet chili dipping sauce), drunken noodles (delicious, traditional wide flat rice noodles) and chicken basil. Upon request, the kitchen added a wok-fried egg to my chicken, just like they do in Thailand. We'll try more typical Chinese dishes on future visits--I just thought it was neat that you could get good Thai food in a tiny strip mall Chinese takeout spot! For those who are critical of the service, I found the waitress to be very efficient. While she was a bit curt, I think it was more of a cultural thing--she was pleased to tell me about the Thai cook and stopped to check on us several times throughout the meal. read more

Maybe it was a fluke...hopefully...but maybe not. I have been going to this restaurant for years and have mostly been satisfied. I wasn't happy when they still wouldn't accommodate eat-in dining even after COVID restrictions were lifted, but they do now so I went back. Unfortunately the food (General Tso's Chicken) was so bad I just had to address the owner to express my absolute dissatisfaction and incredulity. She didn't have much to say and basically blamed the cook. This is the issue: I ordered the General Tso's lunch meal. The service was good, the portion was good, the breading and sauce were good. But the chicken? It was pretty much nonexistent. Truly, most of the nuggets had less than a centimeter of meat!! And the nugget size was about 2 inches. They have to do better. read more

Nice selection of dishes. Service was decent and server was engaging and patient as we chose our meals. I dined on the Honey Sesame Chicken and found it very tasty with the chicken perhaps slightly overcooked. The honey in the sauce was thick and not overly sweet. The broccoli side was served cold and I'm not certain if that was intentional or not. The egg drop soup as an appetizer was the right consistency of egg to broth. General Tso Chicken was the my wife's selection and enjoyed. Our dining partners supped on Sweet and Sour Shrimp and Beef and Snow Peas. They both enjoyed their meals and liked the thick, light breading of the shrimp. All in all a good experience and inexpensive night out. This is my go to Chinese restaurant in Stafford for delivery now. I have yet to be disappointed by the delivery or my orders. They always arrive around 45 minutes after I place the order and they are always correct. My go to favorite is the Mala Four Flavor, basically chicken, beef, pork, and shrimp in a peppery brown sauce. Always an awesome choice. General Tso's chicken had nice flavor but chicken and fried rice were dried out. PuPu platter was disgusting! Only one egg roll, dumplings were pieces of mystery meat inside which you can not even eat, shrimp tempura were tiny. Too many other options in town and we will not go back there. Food was all processed and pre made. Not worth spending the money on. Very disappointed since other reviews were high.
