She came out chewing, I hate that lol. It makes me imagine unsanitary handling happening in the kitchen. But, she was super friendly and smiley which I loved! The fried rice was bland, not tasty. The general tso chicken was ok. The reviews were accurate--more bread than chicken. The glaze I've had better at malls. I won't return but it wasn't bad so go give it your own try. read more

Hunan Garden - Fried rice with General Tso Chicken OK - Chinese Near Me - Woodbridge, Virginia

Could not stomach the food; the place is not clean and smells. Everything was covered in the same black sauce. The rice tasted weird; we spent $72 to try multiple dishes and got the same flavor across the board, very disappointing. Even the egg roll is gross; it tastes like old oil that had not been changed in years. I am updating my original review for good customer service. I was able to return my order without an issue. read more

Swung by last night for a quick dinner and I was surprised at how delicious everything was. The owner was very friendly. The place itself for a sit in isn't too fancy at all but it does look very clean. I will definitely come by more often although it's no where near me but it's worth the trip. Thank you for such delicious food. read more

The food is great, I order this for delivery often and have never experienced any problems. The delivery is also very timely!

THE MOST bland azz food Ife ever had. I ordered wonton soup, sheimp rolls and dumplings. Save your money, you might as well eat a dry sad turkey sandwich. read more

Great service! We almost always order the general tso chicken, beef w broccoli, rice and egg rolls from here whenever we don't feel like cooking for the night or we are getting home late from work. The food is always on point. Never a problem with anything at all when it comes to Hunan garden. Would give 5 stars if the portions were just a little bit larger. That's literally it. You will not be disappointed at all ordering from here! read more

Ordered pick up based on the reviews. I ordered general tso chicken and crab rangoons. The generals tso was pretty good. The sauce wasn't as sweet as I'm used to from other places. Now the crab Rangoon were the worst I've had. The wrapper was super thick more eggroll style definitely not the crab Rangoons I'm used to and definitely overcooked and barely any filling. read more

Originally had ordered sesame chicken but things didn't go as planned. I called the management and they fixed the issue right away. The food is amazing and tastes authentic. I've been a fan for a long time. I recommend the sesame chicken and the chow foon noodles. Those two are great for anyone who wants a filling meal with great taste read more

I've come to order here before many times! I don't make a bother when things are wrong. I just eat it. This time around I order via phone - shrimp fried rice - no soy sauce - I was told it was yunhczhao style so I added that on. Emphasizing no soy sauce and extra onions. So because the order taker wasn't sure - instead of calling me - she decided for me and ordered me combination fried rice. I called to let them know my concern - the order taker picked up my call again told her what I got - and then instead of making it right, she said "No, you didn't tell me you wanted shrimp." I'm like livid. I am usually the first person to admit I did something wrong! But - I knew that because I was saying something new I made sure to repeat - that it was shrimp. Customer recommendation: Listening skills are crucial in the food and hospitality industry and yes - Chinese restaurants fall under that! You want to keep long term customers and their family and friends coming - make it right unless it's unusually high priced. I want the former order taker from before. She was patient and doesn't argue. This current order taker needs to ask people to repeat their order.. Don't get me wrong. Best Crab Rangoon there is locally!! Customer serv. is lacking moreso now than ever. If you don't have it, You're lucky if I come back. AND I'm a weekly order customer. I've invested in that restaurant for more than 8 years! Theyve possibly lost me as a customer. read more

Best delivery Chinese food I have had in the area so far! Delivery service is always friendly and fast. Will continue to order from Hunan

I've been twice in the past 7 days and placed another order for this afternoon. I just moved here and searched for a decent Chinese spot and thank the Heavens, I finally have. The people are super nice and the restaurant doesn't have that weird mop smell that a lot of the storefront places usually have. It is an actual restaurant with tables and chairs (although, dine-in is not a thing right now due to Big Rona). The food is always fresh and delicious. It tastes like the chefs actually season the food and take special care to prepare your meal. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for great Chinese in Woodbridge. read more

My first visit at this restaurant. Clean establishment. Service I was provided was okay. Order was ready within 15 minutes (which should have alerted me). Good amount of food was provided. I ordered the General Tso Chicken with fried rice. The rice was dry and not flavorful. The chicken was not fresh. The sauce was flavorful, thick and sticky. The price on the menu that is provided in the restaurant is not accurate or up to date. I'm not sure if I'll visit this location again. read more

I have been looking for a decent Chinese food restaurant for some time without any luck. That is until I found Hunan Garden. The ratings were good, service is quick, the prices aren't the best but the food is good. I have a simple palate and only had spring rolls and fried rice. I've only dined there twice but return again. read more

Not much flavor to the dishes. Very Americanized Chinese food. I would probably request more sauce or more heat if I order again.

My son got a vegetarian dish there and ended up with terrible food poisoning. He was down for the count for three days despite downing a bunch of Pedialte since he was so dehydrated. BTW, he's 25. read more

Was looking for some soup and wanted Chinese food nearby so we stumbled upon Hunan Garden online. It was less than a 3 minute drive from us and they had online ordering so it seemed easy. We ordered Crab Rangoon, Hot & Sour Soup, Egg Drop Soup, Orange Chicken, and Kung Pao Chicken. Order was estimated for 25 minutes and they had it ready before I even got there. The staff was so nice and friendly, happily greeting me when I walked in. The food was solid. The soups were as expected, nice and hot and both came with crispy noodles. The crab Rangoon were very crispy outside and had a nice creamy inside. The Kung Pao and Orange chicken was servings were huge and was enough for multiple meals. They definitely did not skimp on meat and wasn't really spicy (only had a mild anyway). This may be my new go to Chinese spot since it's so close, ordering is simple, and the staff is friendly! read more

Great food. Fast delivery. It's not the closest restaurant to me but still seems to deliver faster than any of the others. My go to is the Hunan Chicken, but everything I have tried has been fantastic. read more

It was okay. Too much breading on the chicken I ordered, which was also a bit pricey.

Searching for a restaurant that serves DELICIOUS food can be so cumbersome. However, here at Hunan Garden you will find a great selection of Chinese food that is not only savory but comes in a very decent quantity! Service is extremely fast (typically will take 15-20 min from the time of ordering or faster!) I will absolutely come back and you should too! read more

So glad to have a great Chinese place right down the street! So far my favorite things to order: Bourbon chicken, moo shu pork, pheonix and dragon, seafood delight, teriyaki chicken I've tried multiple other things and they have been good but not the best (egg fu young, kung pao, soups) read more

This is my go to Chinese place in the area. Fast and tasty food. Prices are reasonable. The in house dining I believe doesn't really exist post COVID however I always do takeout. Friendly staff and good portions. I love the eggrolls, sesame chicken, and chicken and veggies. read more

Love the food! We moved out of Lake Ridge & still order take out occasionally. The shrimp rolls are to die for!

Decent food. It's a solid place to order food from. The service over the phone was good as-well. I still haven't found a Chinese restaurant in Woodbridge that makes food you would crave on the weekends. read more

Recently moved to Woodbridge and of course you need to find a Chinese takeout. Someone from my job recommended Hunan Garden so I tried it! The lo menu with veggies is great! Foods was hot and fresh ingredients. I must say it is a bit pricey for takeout, but what isn't nowadays. I also tried the egg drop soup and the shrimp egg foo young. The gravy for the egg foo young is made with peanut oil and to be honest, it was a bit too much for me. Try it out for yourself. Four stars because I don't like the gravy and it's too pricey for takeout. read more

Thrilled to have found a place with so many vegan options in LakeRidge! I ordered takeout from them for the second time tonight. Last time we got Kung Pao Tofu, General Tso Tofu, Buddha's Delight, Sweet & Sour bean Curd, and Veggie Lo-Mein. All delicious. The General Tso's is my favorite because it's a little sweeter than the King Pao. The rice has been fluffy and perfect both times. They have the full menu and ability to order online on their website. We'll definitely be ordering here many times while in Woodbridge! read more

Food has been consistently good at this location but, unfortunately, I found a long hair in my food and they would not give me a refund - even though they saw the hair. They took my telephone number and said they would apply a credit to my order the next time I came. I'm of the mind that people should choose their battles so, rather than making a huge scene, I left, but will not patronize this restaurant again. read more

Food is constantly being changed I ordered orange chicken zero orange slices and it was red! Very disappointing the rice was dry and gross.PLEASE STOP CHANGING STUFF! read more

Good food and nice people. Food was tasty. They were quick and polite. The food is not the best but I'm biased. I have lived in china and Japan but it is amazingly good plus the convenience. They also seem to remember you and give that good community feeling. read more

It's our go to for Chinese Food for over 10 years! I've tried quite a few spots here in Woodbridge and Hunan Garden has beat them all out. Great taste, food always freshly cooked. And they remember their customers. read more

We ordered three different entrees. Two were pretty good. The third which was Shrimp fried rice was terrible! After two forkffulls it was going in the trash. The shrimp part of the dish was fine, if sparse, but the fried rice was completely flavorless other than old and stale, and had a mushy texture...which on closer inspection it was! All I can think is, the fried rice was a day or three old and had been sitting waiting for some schmuck (me I guess) to order a fried rice dish! Will not go to the Hunan Garden again. read more

Hunan Garden - Chinese Near Me - Woodbridge, Virginia

I usually go to Good Taste Express, but they aren't open on Sundays and this place had pretty good reviews so decided to try it out. The food was ok, not bad, not special. The online ordering was easy. I would have given them 3 stars....but the lunch special came with rice and an egg roll and they shorted me an eggroll and the entrée was almost all rice. I guess I'd go again if craving Chinese on a Sunday, but I won't pre-tip again and will take the time to open up the take-out bag and check my order. read more

My food was tasty and delivery was very prompt! However, I had tried to specify that I wanted my Kung Pao 'hot spicy' using the BeyondMenu interface, expecting that the baseline dish was going to be pretty mild.. which it should not be, it is marked with the 'spicy chili' marker on the menu. However, upon digging in, there was no discernable heat at all, just sweet-savory. Disappointing! I was hoping for something more "Mala" I really don't see this as a problem with Hunan Garden... I cannot remember the last time I encountered spicy food from a Chinese takeout joint. I'm not sure if this was a BeyondMenu-shop issue, or my extra spec getting passed over. I might call to make my heat preferences more explicit next time... Adding hotsauce just is not the same as having chili peppers cooked into the dish! read more
