This is one of those hole in the wall mom'n'pop Chinese-American takeout joints. The 5 stars is due to comparing it to other choices that are readily available locally. There exists tables for those waiting for their orders, and it is definitely assumed to be take out and delivery as it's focus. Now I always try to eat inside where possible to gauge the interior and cleanliness. This location is still set up for social distancing and doesn't have restrooms, but I was definitely accommodated and able to eat inside. The service was very efficient, and the woman behind the counter was very sweet, kind, and helpful. She gave me chopsticks, napkins, all the regular sauces, and even allowed me to custom order my food extra spicy. I was quite pleased with the freshness, temperature, and spice of the final product. I enjoyed my meal with a drink - they have Pepsi and coke products, along with Gatorade/Powerade. Upon finishing my meal, she gave me a fortune cookie and a Chinese calendar. Food is but lady Manager there has an attitude issue that repeats anytime you deal with her... No matter how nice you are with her she is very short and seems stressed and has no time to speak to you, especially if your having an issue. Again, the coupons that are offered by every other establishment are not offer at this store, no matter how much you spend, no matter how.long you've gone there, its attitude and a feeling of disdain you get. She doesn't appreciate customers that live down street and come to her for years... I have to drive to Garrisonville Rd. to get better attitude and if I spend money there, they'll give more food... Win win for the other stores to get the business and we get better customer service as well as the little bit of incentives to come back. Simple clean friendly. under 11 for lunch beef mixed veg (baby corn, brocolli ) and rice. Auntie there was very polite and kind . no msg or fake sauce yet fast service. Friday the 13th = my lucky day. I have always liked egg foo young, but I have NEVER had any as good as I had this evening from China King! Too often, chefs swamp the egg with huge slices of vegetables, so much so that the egg is indiscernable. Not so here! I'm fine with laying out money for a good meal.. but my order was sesame chicken, chicken wing, rice & spring rolls.. $55 I ordered it mainly because well it's Chinese it's quick, but seriously it would have been cheaper to order door dash and pay the fee for something I was really craving This place must have golden chickens to be that cost. I really don't know why it's so expensive. I'd honestly like to see what tax is charged on this or if they're preloading tip. So I ordered from online from this establishment for months and all of a sudden they call me up and tell me they need to charge extra to add an egg in my fried rice. My question to the person on the phone was "I've ordered from here for months and not just online but in person as well and was never charged extra. Is this a new policy". The lady told me "oh I never charged you before and the owner wants to start charging now". My response was so I'm placing orders that are over $50 each time and you want to hassle me for $1.25 today? Awful customer service. Good tastes okay for the area and it's the closest that delivers so we always ordered here but never again. Also, not sure if they smoke cigarettes while cooking your food or the delivery person is smoking in the car but the bag always has this cigarette smell when it's dropped off. They also use styrofoam trays that they compact in a bag which will break on you while taking the food out. Stay away from this Chinese place. read more

stopped in tonight to check this place out. Heard mixed comments from friends. Got the steamed dumplings and asked for a large order of combo Lo-Main. Extra spicy. Well overall everything was good. Steamed dumplings had lots of flavor and the spicy lo main was spicy for most. I will stop here again and looking forward to getting them to add some additional spicy to my order. I honestly only order from here because between ordering & delivery it gets to my house lightening speed which is convenient when I'm too lazy to cook. That being said this place is hit or miss. Sometimes the food is great. Last time I had them my rice was kind of hard it wasn't cooked correctly. & the chicken hardly had sauce. I honestly barely ate. But today my husband wanted Chinese. So I attempt to order. Some guy answers & is very rude & trying to rush me on the phone calling me "honey". I don't think that's cute. Then hangs up on me mid order. Annoyed I called back & get the lady. She normally takes my order so I ask what happened. She just kept saying "order order I take your order" she knew who I was. Location: it's in a convenient location in a clean and new looking plaza Service: the cashier was friendly and the food came out fast. I placed an order and within 5 mins I went to pick it up it was available and still hot. When she noticed I wasn't using chopsticks (I still had it in the wrapper and hadn't take it out yet), she came by and brought me a fork in case I needed one. She was really polite. I saw this firsthand with everyone coming through. Food: I got the beef and black bean option with an egg roll. I think it's good Chinese takeout and this may be the first time I've actually gotten food in Stafford. It's tastes good to me and this is coming from someone that eats a lot of asian food. The veggies were crisp and fresh. Price- $6.50 base and then 60 cents taxed racked on for a total of $7.10. Portions were good for this price and if I were working around here more often I'd likely be here. Verdict- stop by if you want a quick and filling lunch for a good price. read more

We've ordered from this location for many years and rarely had an issue... until tonight (That's why they're 2-stars vs. 3-star). Tonight, we ordered food online for delivery ASAP. Previously, it was delivered within 30 min. Today, we called 50 min after ordering to ask what was happening. No one answered the phone. So, we lodged a complaint through the online system and ordered the same food from a competitor down the street , Fifteen minutes later, there was a deliver. It was our food. As I was unpacking the food, there was another knock. It was another delivery. The first delivery was from China King (nearly 90 min late). The second delivery was from the second location (20 after we ordered). Again, food is usually good. Service is usually good. Not planning to order online from these folks again. read more

They lied then when I called after 20,more min (40 total) they said it was on the way (1hr 25min later). Food was cold people were rude and unhelpful. Will never order done here again. I usually am very happy with their food and service but last night not so much. I waited for more than an hour for delivery which wasn't the worst thing...but when our food arrived it was hot and fresh so I'm not complaining about the food freshness...What bothered me was my Szechuan Chicken was nearly all Onions. It had very little chicken and it had an odd flavor, there were only a few bits of green peppers, and even less other veggies. I like onions, just not that many and they weren't cooked thoroughly so they still had a raw taste to them. Not good. It wasn't horrible to eat... but I was pretty hungry when it arrived so I just scarfed it down. I woke up this morning with an upset stomach and started feeling really sicker throughout the day. I think the chicken may have gone bad. My other issue was I called back to order a 2 liter coke and was told they couldn't add it to my bill because she'd already processed it. She said I'd have to pay cash when the driver arrived to which I agreed. No problem... but when he arrived and I paid for the soda and gave him a tip I realized afterward that she had added it to my bill so I basically paid twice. The driver got a real nice tip. He was a nice guy so I don't mind if he got it...it's just they should have called me back to tell me they added the soda. Not to courteous. At any rate, this may have been an off night because I'm usually very happy with there food and speedy service. I will still order from them, I just hope they aren't trending in the wrong direction. Was in need of nourishment so I stopped about 2:45 on a Wednesday. The staff actually looked surprised to see someone walk in but they were very friendly. I ordered off of the lunch menu which gives you fried rice and an egg roll with your selection. I was leaning toward the triple delicacy but wanted to make sure of what I was getting so I asked the young lady about the ingredients and she described them to me. My only concern was the mushrooms but she assured me that they were regular button mushrooms and not some Asian variety, some of which I am allergic too. I asked if the dish was spicy (it didn't say on the menu so I assumed it wasn't) she said no, do you want it spicy? I said yes and she was on her way to the wok to make my custom made dish just for me. A few minutes later and she brought it to my table. Way to hot to eat but at least fresh and not out of some pan sitting in boiling water. And now a break down: Vegetables-of which I am not a huge fan, snow peas- fair not my favorite, water chestnuts, baby corn, and bamboo shoots-very tasty, carrots-thin sliced and cooked just right, and last but not least broccoli-firm but cooked. I have to believe that she cooked the vegetables for different lengths of time which resulted in each being done to just the right degree, something that doesn't always happen in a lot of restaurants. You know what I mean with soggy carrots and undercooked broccoli right? Meats- chicken-tasty and tender no fat, beef-again tasty and tender no fat or gristle which is common at some Chinese places. I think this was some of the best beef I have had in a dish at a fast food Chinese place, and last but not least shrimp- very large and very good, only got two but hey I know how expensive seafood is and this is a lunch special so no complaints from me. I saved the shrimp for last and it was like desert. As I said it comes with fried rice which was OK but tasted better mixed with the sauce from the dish and an egg roll which had a wrapper a little thicker than I like but the filling more than made up for it. I am usually an all you can eat buffett guy but this dish filled me up even though I was hungry when I went in and for around $7.00 it is hard to beat. read more

This is my second time coming here and both times I have been greeted with a smile and quick service. It may not be as plush as other fancy Chinese restaurants but their food and exceptional service, defiantly makes up for it. There are pictures of a lot of the food posted! Definately a plus because who knows what the difference is between brown sauce and garlic sauce. And sometimes I wonder if something like orange beef is battered and fried or just stir fried. The pictures help. I ordered the chicken with black pepper and wow. Very satisfactory! I would give it five stars for that dish alone. It was battered and had full on flavor. It wasn't spicy at first bite but after a few spoonfuls of chicken, it got spicy. It came with white rice, which was mediocre. But how can I expect amazing rice from a place like this? My dish was about $10, which was quite pricey but it was a chef's special/recommendation on the menu. Plus it was a huge portion! I can get three meals out of it provided I cook some rice at home to go with the left over chicken. I also ordered shrimp egg rolls, which were eh, at first. I think I was expecting more meat and less veggies and a smooth egg roll shell. The shell was bubbly/bumpy. I like the smooth shell wrappers more. There were about three small pieces of whole shrimp. I would have rather they chopped up the three shrimp and mixed it in the veggies. When I got home and ate my left over egg roll, it was a lot better than I remembered. I didn't even heat it up and it still tasted good. Anyway, I figured the wrapper would get soggy if I microwaved it. My coworker had some sort of stir fry with garlic sauce. It was just eh. Now I know never to order it. It didn't taste spicy at all but perhaps I needed a few more bites. It came with a variety of stir fired veggies though, including bamboo. I would go back just for the chicken with black pepper! I think they must saute it after it's fried because it's got some chopped onion mixed in and some green onions. I ordered for delivery today and then was called with an emergency requiring me to leave immediately. I called to cancel 8 minutes after placing the order on my way out the door.
