This was my first visit to this classic Chinese Restaurant right on Rt 17 north. Service was prompt and friendly. I ordered spring rolls and combination lo mein. The spring rolls were hot! and tasty served with hot mustard and duck(?) sauce. The lo mein was also served hot and included shrimp, chicken, pork, fresh scallions, fresh mushrooms, fresh onions, and a mild sauce. Full marks for fresh veggies. Ambience is subdued with plenty of table and booth space available. It seems apparent a large portion of their business is take out or delivery. Glad to have found this place. As my previous review advises, I've been dining here for many years. Mostly utilize carry out, but found the food is much better when dining in. They have decent Chinese-American fare, not very authentic food, just what satisfies the masses. My two go-to dishes here are chicken & broccoli and egg fu young. One reason I enjoy dining in is they have a nicely made chili pepper oil sauce, which I put in my egg drop soup and all over whatever entrée I get. Their house hot mustard us also very good, it's great to dip the left over fried crispy noodles for the soup into. Service is always adequate, but not very friendly. The lady here is rather curt and abrupt. But the venue actually is decorated nicely and when I went yesterday I noticed fresh flowers on all the tables. read more

Wow, what a hidden gem that Asia Café is! I was told to check Asia Café out for lunch and that I did. They have a bunch of seating inside and a ton of parking outside and I loved all the lunch special options that they had service was very prompt, and food was delivered quickly to the table. There were so many options that it was hard for me to decide what I wanted to eat. I ended up ordering the general tso chicken lunch special, which came with fried rice and a spring roll. When the food came out which it came out quickly, it was very hot and delicious. I love the spring roll and I thought the chicken was extremely flavorful and delicious. It was not spicy at all, even though it showed it was spicy on the menu. The fried rice was also really good. For $8.95 you cannot beat this lunch special anywhere in Fredericksburg. I also saw people ordering the sweet-and-sour chicken, the pie Thai and the dumplings as well as the kung pao chicken and those looked really good as well. I cannot recommend enough how great Asia café is the Chinese food is absolutely exquisite, and I and I wish I had a Chinese food restaurant where I live as good as this one. read more

A friend recommended this place so I had to try it. I'm in search for a good Chinese spot. Everything on 610 is meh and taste the same everywhere you go. We ordered : Chow fun - 2/5 - was ok, didn't have much sauce or flavor to it. Kinda soggy for chow fun, noodles were also thin. Crab Rangoon 1/5 - was the nastiest thing we got. The filling tasted nothing like cream cheese. It was disgusting. Shrimp Fried Rice - 4/5 - this dish was not too bad. Shrimp was a good size and not overcooked. Tom yum soup - 3/5 - this soup was ok, it's missing something. If you do get it, make sure u get the lime they threw in there. It over powers the soup and turns it bitter. Hot sour soup - 3/5 - meh this was ok too, I have had better at different places. Happy Family - 3/5 - this dish was ok, had all the meats and veggies in it. Good mix, flavor was ok. Red chicken curry - 3/5 - this was ok, was expecting more of the Thai spice and flavor but I shouldn't be ordering Thai food off of a Chinese menu. This was ok, I probably wouldn't get it. Overall, good enough to beat the Chinese places on 610 but can't compete against other Chinese restaurants up north. read more

This is by far the the best takeout on 17! They are always fast, the food is fresh, and the staff is kind. I love the variety they offer. Everything from egg drop soup to sushi to general tso's is always banging. I've been ordering from here for about 11 years now and am always impressed and satisfied. Their food is delicious here & the service is excellent. The atmosphere is nice, typical of a Chinese restaurant. The dining area is on the small side, but we've never encountered a waiting line. We used to come here all of the time & we used to order out from here too. Their prices have always been a bit on the high side, but we were willing to pay it because the food is so good. I am disappointed that this review can't be a good one. To be honest, I wanted it to be good so I have a guaranteed Chinese food spot in my new neighborhood. Unfortunately, the food was unremarkable. I ordered the General Taos chicken, and the flavor was average and the heat (spice) turned all the way down! I asked for fried rice and what I received was literally rice with soy sauce on it! No bean sprouts, no fried egg, no onions, no peas and carrots...just rice and soy sauce! My spring rolls were decent tasting but so full of grease my stomach is queasy just remembering! Hubby seemed to like his combo lo me in, but it is apparently hurting his tummy as we speak. Their menu is crazy extensive and I think it is just too difficult to get so many dishes and cuisines right. Reduce the menu and focus on getting a few dishes worth the money and the drive. I am hooked on this Pad Thai! On my way to DC a couple weeks back I made a pit stop in Freddysburg to grab Mcdonalds.. and man I am sure glad I did not do that. I had some time to kill so I stopped in Asia Cafe. I ordered the Thai Spring Rolls and The Pad Thai (of coarse), and I waited. I've never really been one to sit in restraunts alone, It makes me feel so awkward but I guess since I was in a new town I brushed that off. Plus I had the kindest waitstaff I have ever recieced and my feeling of awkward was gone! My waiter was very personable and attentive. The food was delivered quick. First the spring rolls and then the pad thai. The spring rolls were fantasic, unlike any springroll I'd had before. Now I can tell the difference between fresh and refrigerated. And of coarse the Chicken Pad Thai... I am in love. This pad thai is special to my heart and I want it all the time. I was so surprised when I received my check, the prices were incredible. Was in the area visiting family and wanted to find some njce asian food near me. Decided to try the general tso's chicken, crispy beef, triple delight, chicken lo mein, wonton soups, and white rice. Omg the crispy beef is so good, that's sauce is delicious. General tso's chicken is pretty good too. Same with the triple delight, shrimp was frozen but good, chicken was good, beef was good. Chicken lo mein was a tad bland. The only thing I will say is that my family is about 5-10 minutes away from the restaurant but they told us they don't deliver to us??? The last time I ordered Chinese food there was near the end of the pandemic and the food tasted like it was fried in rancid oil. Recently, since my usual Chinese carry out was closed for the holiday, I decided to try Asia Cafe again. I ordered Kung Pao chicken and Triple delight. The King Pao was mostly cut up raw carrots and celery. There was small pieces of chicken. The spring roll was the the best. Sadly, I ate the meat which was rather rough and a little broccoli and threw out the remainder. There was no skill in preparing the meal. Nope. Go somewhere else. Ordered online and there was no confirmation email so I ended up calling to confirm. They had our order but now I wish they didn't. Spicy tuna rolls were inedible, tasted vaguely of cleaning products and clearly made a day or two earlier. Kung Po was disappointing but that was the case with everything we ordered. Average to disappointing all around. We were short 4 egg rolls in our order. I should have not been surprised when faced with a giant, dusty, fake orchid on the counter. Too bad. Tried this place for the first time as a dinner option. I got the sweet & sour chicken it was okay; the chicken was fried to hard and I tried to use the sauce to make it softer but that didn't work. So I finally got the salmon roe as sashimi! They thought I was always saying salmon roll so I had to specify ikura. SO GOOD. I've tried a few more dishes since my last review. The drunken noodles are always good but my new go to is the green Thai curry. It's so damn good and so spicy. I'll power through the spice and sweat my butt off because it's just that delicious and perfect. I love taking it as leftovers to work and everyone always comments how delicious it smells. First time back here in about two years. I ordered a Thai lunch dish with chicken, and a sushi roll. One bite of each and right into trash ... all of it. Very nasty. I have dined in here and had fast & delicious lunch service, but my favorite thing is their delivery. Most places deliver through an app that makes it twice as expensive to get their food delivered but Asia Cafe has their own delivery personnel which is so much cheaper AND faster! My favorites are the Kung Pao chicken, anything on the Thai menu, and their sushi and sashimi is good. My husband lives for their crab rangoons. read more
