    16. Egg Drop Soup
    Ciara P.

The amount of pan fried noodles was really small and thin. Almost all of the soup dumplings were ripped with no soup inside. The scallion bubble pancakes were very greasy. The dry fried egg plant was good.

It has been a while since coming here, as I recall, the last visit wasn't too great. In between, about a year ago I tried the Charlottesville location and it was the worse I've tried yet. So, for the past few years when seeking authentic Szechuan food, I've been driving up to Szechuan Taste in Dale City (which is amazing, BTW!) or up to Arlington, Fairfax, etc. Some of the best I've ever had came from Szechuan Taste in Dale City, Chengdu Gourmet in Pittsburgh, and the best yet has been from Sichuan House in San Antonio (yeah, I ate Szechuan instead of tacos when in the Taco Capital!)!! Recently I was in the area of Central Park and was yearning for authentic Szechuan, so I decided to give this location another try... I got Christine as a server and she was great! She not only knew the menu, she understood the authenticity of Szechuan food versus the typical American Chinese food (General Tso's, sweet & sour fried stuff, etc). I simply asked for cumin chicken and was given an AMAZING dish loaded with flavor... all the flavors I yearn for when desiring this style of food. Prices are great here too, as I ordered the diner portion, not the lunch portion and it was only like $16 for a large amount of food. I'll definitely return and ask for Christine next time too, to ensure I'm getting my food made right! Definitely would recommend to those who know and seek authentic Szechuan to hear what you think of it.

    Beef with onion and cilantro.

I had the Beef with onions and cilantro lunch special , it came with choice of soup and rice. For $9 to $11, the lunch specials are are good deal. Seasoning and taste was classic trade mark Peter Chang. Very flavorful with heavy pepper corn flavor. My server was very polite and knowledgeable about the dishes. I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch. Next time I will try the chicken or shrimp.

I was disappointed with Pete Chang, I was hoping for a high end Chinese restaurant with the added benefit of a Chef that served ambassadors and even the White House. Considering that they were close to Bone Fish I expected the lower end of fine dining. What I got was a larger version of every Chinese fast food joint that loads your plate with tons of overcooked noodles and zero atmosphere. Now on the good side their seafood hot-pot was tasty, but not the best. Also the spring rolls were pretty mediocre. So if you are in shorts and t-shirt this is a place to eat. If you are looking for fine Chinese dining then this is not the place.

This is one of my favorite restaurants to go to when I'm craving Chinese food! The portion sizes are very large so it's the perfect place to go to and order family style. Our table had a large turntable built in so it was great to share the food without having to reach over each other and pass things around. I'm a vegetarian and I felt like they had plenty of options to choose from on the menu. For an appetizer I got the scallion bubble pancake which is basically 2 large fried pieces of bread that are hollow on the inside. It was accompanied by a curry dipping sauce. The scallion pancake tasted exactly the bread you would order at an Indian restaurant and the curry dipping sauce had a lot of flavor in it and was not spicy at all. For my main course I ordered the vegetable tofu clay pot and it was absolutely delicious! The garlic sauce that it is made in is very flavorful and goes perfect with fried rice!

Wow what a great find! Today we were looking for anything open on Christmas and knew that Chinese was a good bet. What we didn't realize is that we have a Peter Chang in Fredericksburg!!! Yumo! Award winning cuisine right in our backyard. My hubby couldn't join us so definitely coming.m back soon. Update: 12/28/19 another fantastic meal At Peter Chang's today. My husband had to work Christmas so I promised to bring him here and he was not disappointed. Yumo! Today we tried a hot pot and the bubble pancakes very very good food and service.

Metal shaving that was found in the egg drop soup
    Tammy C.

I ordered from Peter Chang and received this egg drop soup with metal shaving in it! I'm disappointed because what if I didn't see it and ate it or were to feed it to a child, there could potentially be some serious health concerns that would arise. It makes me think as well on how and where they store and prepare their food. Why is there metal shavings around the food area? Are they preparing this food near construction? So many food preparing concerns comes to mind! Also, the food was incredibly oily. I understand that this type of food has some sort of oil involved but this was another level of oily. The food was so damp in oil, that I couldn't really taste the flavor of the food. I know they can do better for taste but... metal shaving..? That's a no go for me.

If I could leave no stars I would. There was nothing about our $60 dinner that was worth $60. My husband which he described to me as slimy. I got Mongolian beef which was dry and tasteless. There was no salt or pepper on the table. The meat was grainy and the rice sticky and dry. $60. We could hear the cook yelling in the front of the restaurant. Never, ever again. We expected to get honest value for our meal. The lack of respect that Peter Chang has for his customers is astonishing.

Ate here several times with a large group of 8 plus and a few smaller groups of 3. Service and food were excellent.

It was decent, sauce was on the side so that helped a lot from being super soggy. This was probably the only decent thing at a reasonable price. Hunan style combination was salty, the walnut shrimp was soggy as well, I guess i could have reheated this up as well since it was fried in batter. Shrimp was big and plumpy, there was no sauce that came with it on the side, only this yumyum sauce. Not sure if it was for that, if it was, very meh since the sauce is salty and not sweet. My favorite thing to get at other asian places is the Gway Tiow aka Chow Fun, but it was super soggy. The noodles were over cooked, it was also a tad salty, the lo mein was salty too, and the pad thai was meh, noodles were over cooked. I picked it up and the noodles would fall off the chopsticks and tasted mushy. It didn't have much flavor to it anyways. Kinda disappointing since of all the high ratings and the pics look tasty.
