    Lo mein
    Tara G.

I was really wanting to like this place. I have been on the lookout for a good Chinese delivery and the pictures looked very good on this place. My husband and I ordered Chinese from here the other night. Wait time was going to be about 45 minutes, and they were on time. We ordered the "chicken sticks" (chicken teriyaki on a stick), crab rangoons and a large size sweet and sour chicken entree with lo mein, instead of rice. The total came to about $37 before tip (way too expensive for the amount of food we received). When they handed it to me, the bag seemed very small compared to what I am accustomed to at my old Chinese restaurant. I started wondering if they'd forgotten something. Everything was there, but the portions were much smaller. Still yet, my husband and I split everything up. First off, the chicken sticks were very good. I was feeling hopeful that the rest of the food would be equally delicious, but it was all downhill from there. The crab rangoons didn't even look like crab rangoons or taste like crab rangoons. They were awful! The sweet and sour chicken was nothing but tiny little pieces; mostly batter and no chicken. The dipping sauce was nasty. The lo mein had some funky flavoring. I ended up wasting my food. Worse yet, what I did eat made me sick. I was literally dry heaving. They got one call from us, that will be our last. I do not recommend.

Them Singapore Chow Mei Fun noodles though!! I gotta admit, the dinner/lunch combination platters are great value. All served with fried rice & an egg roll, the portions (dinner especially) are rather generously sized. We ordered the General Tso's chicken (always a winner,) curry chicken, Singapore chow mei fun noodles (spicy, just a slight kick to make your nose run a bit), wonton soup, Hunan delight, sweet & sour chicken and steamed mixed vegetables. I should have asked them to fry the noodles a bit more to make them crispier, but that's just down to personal opinion.

    Shrimp with Walnu

I ordered the worst shrimp with walnuts ever. The sauce is full of starch and the walnuts tasted old. I came here again to give them another chance, however, I am still disappointed. I've been to many Chinese restaurants and this is the worst by far. Never coming back again.

All the broccoli included with our Shrimp and Chinese vegetables

Gave them 2 chances. First time was szechuan shrimp... sickening amount of green peppers. This time we ordered Shrimp with Chinese vegetables. 3/4 of container was soft broccoli. If we wanted Shrimp with broccoli we would have asked for it. Not another chance

Aluminum foil I was chewing on

ZERO STARS!!!! First off the lady that answered the phone was rude and hung up on me without even appropriate goodbye. Customer service is big for me ‍ Sorry not sorry, anyways I ordered shrimp lo mein with extra shrimp. I got extra shrimp AND ALUMINUM FOIL !! Called back at 10pm the rude lady answered explained to her what I found her response was " I make new for you". Umm not tonight maybe tomorrow. Well tomorrow comes and I decide I'm not gonna return for new food or future food. I call around 4pm once I got out of work and explain I am not interested in returning and would rather just like my money back. She tells me to call back later, I do and she instructed me that the owner would like the food back from 10pm last night. (Mind you it's 8pm the following day ) and they don't do refunds and never have.. Lol what!? Never going here again. Good luck check your food. Aluminum foil wasn't fun chewing on.

Excellent kung pao chicken. Generous portions of chicken and rice. It arrived as hot as if I was in the restaurant too!

Good lunch buffet. Not huge but tasty. Something for everyone. Full menu, too. Friendly staff.

The oil must always be a little dirty because the lo mein always comes out great. My go to for Chinese in the area.

It means Chinese rather than American Chinese, but it also means accessible to people who shop in strip malls in Virginia. While some of the newer Peter Chang restaurants have clearer vegetarian labeling, this one leaves you guessing a bit. It also doesn't list drinks, which is strange when you get asked what you want to drink. I eventually ended up with an interesting combination. I could have gone more basic, but I decided some spicy tofu skins for an appetizer would allow me to order a vegetable entree, which I don't usually do. I assume that a dish of stir-fried cabbage is meant to be ordered by a large group and shared. Both items were tasty, with my cabbage being freshly prepared with a hint of spice and cooked just enough, while my tofu skins had a hint of numbing sensation and a strong flavor hit underlying it. The menu isn't quite as broad as I would like from a veggie perspective, but in an area not overflowing with options, I got a satisfying meal.

For takeouts the restaurant consistently adds a 20% gratuity. Which I have graciously paid. However, I have also not had the experience of having to censored essential components of the meal (ie crunchy noodles).

It was decent, sauce was on the side so that helped a lot from being super soggy. This was probably the only decent thing at a reasonable price. Hunan style combination was salty, the walnut shrimp was soggy as well, I guess i could have reheated this up as well since it was fried in batter. Shrimp was big and plumpy, there was no sauce that came with it on the side, only this yumyum sauce. Not sure if it was for that, if it was, very meh since the sauce is salty and not sweet. My favorite thing to get at other asian places is the Gway Tiow aka Chow Fun, but it was super soggy. The noodles were over cooked, it was also a tad salty, the lo mein was salty too, and the pad thai was meh, noodles were over cooked. I picked it up and the noodles would fall off the chopsticks and tasted mushy. It didn't have much flavor to it anyways. Kinda disappointing since of all the high ratings and the pics look tasty.
