    Pad Thai with pork
    Laura W.

My husband and I stopped by for dinner on a Friday evening when we were passing through town on our way to VA Beach. Using Yelp, we were originally headed elsewhere, but when we walked by and saw the "no-wait" situation, we decided to take advantage so we could get back on the road more quickly. The menu is fairly extensive, but what I appreciated the most about it was the description of the levels of spice AND the adherence to those descriptions once our food came out. Both of us ordered American hot and were skeptical, but with my lips tingling halfway through the meal, we were both in agreement that we were glad we didn't order Thai hot or 911 spice. My husband ordered the pad Thai with pork and I chose the chicken with Thai chili paste and green beans. Portions were substantial and we could have easily taken leftovers if we would have had somewhere to put them. Service was friendly and efficient, food came out quickly and was delicious, and parking was easy nearby. I'd return if in the area again, and I'd definitely recommend fellow travelers to stop here for a quick meal rather than doing somewhere right off I-95 exits.

Spent some "me time" in Downtown Fredericksburg today and stopped in Bangkok Cafe for the first time. The handsome host at the door (His name was Um) did not disappoint with his customer service. Extremely patient, friendly, and knowledgeable. I will DEFINITELY be back to this gem.

Wonderful meal today after spending the morning exploring all the events in downtown Fredricksburg. Troll Festival, Farmers Market and the Welsh Festival. Food was so fresh and flavorful, presented nicely and fairly quickly.

Very good experience. Good food, and I was super surprised about the veggie version of the duck, the person who told me about this restaurant recommended me to order the veggie duck (imitation of duck) wow it was a nice try and very different indeed, a bit salted, but nothing that a nice jasmine rice could not help. My favourite is the glass noodles salad, it was very nice and well balanced. Papaya salad had way too much fish sauce in my opinion and it was not as well balanced. Overall good place to come back to have a nice Thai food. Service good. Definitely will be back for another taste.

I made a huge order which required me to pay over the phone so FYI. Papaya salad - 1/5 - it lacked so much flavor, it was almost like it didn't have enough fish sauce. Beef drunken noodles - 3/5 - this was ok, kinda bland in flavor, noodles were a bit over cooked. Chicken Pad Thai - 4/5 - this had a little flavor to it, pretty decent out of all the things we ordered. Chicken red curry - 1/5 - this was a little disappointing since I was craving for some curry. The flavor was ok, they didn't put enough sauce in the container, I barely had enough for my rice. It looks very cheap and cheesy to put it in a shallow container. Thai fried rice - 3/5 - this was decent, very basic. Mixed vegetables - 4/5 - u really can't mess up stir fried vegetables, can u? Plain vanilla, something like you get out of a Chinese dish. Nothing special, it was decent. Overall we spent too much and it didn't meet my expectations. Location is placed in a sus area, tuck in the corner, careful going at night.

From the start, the curb appeal made a great first impression. Inside, the space felt cozy and intimate, perfect for a relaxed dinner. We were seated right away and handed menus. Their drink list offers a nice variety of sake and cocktails, but we opted for water and freshly brewed black sweet tea. As someone who's picky about iced tea, I was impressed -- it was flavorful, lightly sweetened, and perfectly balanced. My boyfriend started with the miso soup, which had an incredible, savory depth of flavor. For our main dishes, we ordered a Hawai roll along with two Pad Thais -- one with chicken and one with tofu. The Hawai roll was easily one of the best sushi rolls I've ever had. The tempura shrimp was cooked to perfection, and the combination of coconut flakes, mango, and coconut cream sauce made it both unique and delicious. The Pad Thai dishes were also great, though they had a bit more spice than I'm used to -- not overwhelming, but definitely noticeable. Overall, we were really impressed with Miso. The food, atmosphere, and service all hit the mark, and we'll absolutely be back!

It was decent, sauce was on the side so that helped a lot from being super soggy. This was probably the only decent thing at a reasonable price. Hunan style combination was salty, the walnut shrimp was soggy as well, I guess i could have reheated this up as well since it was fried in batter. Shrimp was big and plumpy, there was no sauce that came with it on the side, only this yumyum sauce. Not sure if it was for that, if it was, very meh since the sauce is salty and not sweet. My favorite thing to get at other asian places is the Gway Tiow aka Chow Fun, but it was super soggy. The noodles were over cooked, it was also a tad salty, the lo mein was salty too, and the pad thai was meh, noodles were over cooked. I picked it up and the noodles would fall off the chopsticks and tasted mushy. It didn't have much flavor to it anyways. Kinda disappointing since of all the high ratings and the pics look tasty.

Fxbg has a few spots for Japanese cuisine, all with their own perks, but I think Osan tops them with the perfectly rounded experience. We were seated very quickly on a chilly Saturday evening and started with edamame, miso soup, and hot tea. We had to leave room for the sushi boat for two (so fun!! always wanted to try this!) with wonderful choices of sushi and sashimi from the chefs. I wish we could customize the choices a bit as the fried roll didn't suit our preferences, but maybe they would accommodate if we had just asked! Also, the wasabi is very intense, more so than any other place I've had it. A little goes a long way! In short, everything was fresh and flavorful, a fantastic sushi experience. Would recommend :)

I could have gone more basic, but I decided some spicy tofu skins for an appetizer would allow me to order a vegetable entree, which I don't usually do. I assume that a dish of stir-fried cabbage is meant to be ordered by a large group and shared. Both items were tasty, with my cabbage being freshly prepared with a hint of spice and cooked just enough, while my tofu skins had a hint of numbing sensation and a strong flavor hit underlying it.
