I had concerns about my chimney and called Top Brush for an inspection. Chris came the next day and after looking it over, let me know my chimney was in good shape. He took the time to educate me a little about chimneys and answered all my questions. He made a couple of suggestions on what I could do to prolong the life of the chimney. I really appreciate Chris. He was great to work with. read more

Friendly people, great service. Overall I'm happy with the job they did. Cost was fair for a chimney cleaning.

"TOP BRUSH" performed Absolutely incompetent and faulty work to repair my Chimney! Every element of Chris Crawford's work must now be torn out and redone by another contractor. His faulty methods ans materials have left us with extreme vulnerability to water damage all around the Chimney. Three licensed contractors have independently inspected the 'Top Brush' work immediately after completion. All inspectors agree that the Top Brush work is riddled with errors and omissions. Yes the work will be redone, and yes we have started legal action against Chris Crawford and his questionable company 'Top Brush,' in Tacoma WA. read more

He was consulted to check the caps on our chimney, said they were fine but wanted to replace a rusted piece of metal. He didn't have the material that day about a month later he texts me he found the material. Okay. I make sure I don't need to be present when he comes out, he says no. He comes out, and when he places his ladder on my chimney the bricks start moving. Instead of just walking away, he finishes the job, has his wife call me the minute he drives away, and says she's a debt collector. (Btw, I texted him when he was done and asked where to send payment.) When I call her back, I bring up the damage, because he didn't, and he just says "it needs attention" and charges me $275, while my chimney now needs a total rebuild for $22,000. If you work on chimneys, you should know what the priority is, which wouldn't be a $50 piece of metal if bricks are moving when your on the ladder. read more

Chris the owner came out on time and wore a mask. Chris was polite, punctual, and professional. He swept my chimney and cleaned everything from the inside of the fireplace. Chris also answered all of my questions regarding the safety of the structure due to its 20 year wear and tear from the 2001 Nisqually Earthquake. I have already recommended a friend for his services, and would use Chris again without hesitation. Great Job and Service! Thanx Chris! read more

Chris came out to our home in Gig Harbor to check out our fireplace caps. He was fast and efficient. Thanks Chris!

The guy was professional, friendly, and prompt. He replaced my chimney cap with a different one I'd bought. My entire stove drew better after the cap and chimney clean out! I'll call them again next year for sure. read more

This guy is honest. He showed up on time with a next day appointment. Turns out the flew wasn't open when we lit a fire. ‍ He could have easily charged for a full cleaning, but said it wasn't necessary. Reliable and friendly. I recommend. read more

Chris was very helpful from our initial contact on. He answered our questions carefully and patiently and made it clear what we did and did not need done and what the benefits and drawbacks of all our options were. Unlike some other people we talked to, he made no effort to upsell or fast talk our choices and his charges were clear and very reasonable. Chris came when he said he would and tuck-pointed the part of our chimney that was in bad shape. He came back when he said he would, without our having to re-contact him, to complete the water-resistant treatment. He was very professional throughout the whole job. Chris is a straight-forward, careful, hard-working, honest craftsman. I recommend him and Top Brush when you need your chimney cleaned or repaired. read more

I cannot recommend Top Brush more highly! We called to have our insert removed, and to have our historical fireplace repaired and restored to its original beauty. Chris was so professional and easy to communicate with. He answered every call promptly, and arrived exactly when he said he would. He was dependable, efficient, friendly, and honest. Pricing was very fair too. We will always call Top Brush for our cleaning and repair needs! read more

Chris was professional, personable, and kind. I'm completely new to wood burning fireplaces, so I scheduled an appointment with Chris to have him inspect and possibly clean my fireplaces. He recommended that he only clean one of them and gave me many tips on how to properly use and maintain my fireplaces. It was quite obvious how new I was to everything but he still treated me with respect and never once tried to over charge his services. He was very flexible with his schedule and respectful with my home. I highly recommend Chris, especially to young women who often feel condescended to or have run into situations where they are overcharged for these types of services. read more

Called Chris over to check and see if the chimney was clear. My brother and sister purchased the house about 4yrs ago and have been itching to use the chimney but wasn't sure if everything was well on the way or not to start an actual fire in it. Chris came over on a Monday, did a quick peek, and told me that it was clear and that the check was free of charge. He was on top and friendly. Definitely going to call up and hire him again for when our chimney does need a cleaning in the future. read more

We were selling my mother's house and the damper on the fireplace wouldn't open. We called a different chimney sweep come out and he thought some bricks in the chimney had come loose and were blocking the damper. He figured we could either tear out a section of the fireplace to repair the damper or have an insert put in. He suggested we call DRC fireplace shop in University Place to see what they could do. So I call and they said those options were pretty expensive and to call Chris at Top Brush first to see what he could do. The house sale was closing in two days but Chris was able to squeeze us in the next day and he fixed the damper so it worked! It had lots of soot and stuff blocking it from not being used for so many years. Then he vacuumed it all out and cleaned the chimney for us. Amazing work and he saved us a LOT of money. I highly recommend Top Brush to fix or clean your chimney! read more
