I grew up in Sequim, and Tootsie's was my favorite place for a burger once I could drive myself. Maybe it's just nostalgia, but the burgers with shredded lettuce, pickles and yummy sauce really hold up. The fries are always fresh, hot and crispy too. Prices have gone up in recent years (which I completely understand), and the product hasn't increased in quality/value. Even so, Tootsie's is always a first stop when I visit home. The food is always yummy. I have been coming for two years. Every time the workers in the drive thru are abrupt and not friendly at all. Also I have ordered large onion rings and got like 4 of them and I have ordered small and got 4 off them. Price difference but not size difference. I really enjoy this place! The food is always good and the apple lemonade is divine. However, my last two visits have left a bad taste in my mouth. A few weeks ago I came through with my mom and my 2 children. I ordered an apple lemonade with my meal, which I know is an upcharge and I'm 100% okay with it. When I get to the window I was given a pink lemonade. When I asked for the drink I ordered, a man who I'm assuming was the manager acted very confused as to why I wanted the apple lemonade with my meal when it's a juice and not a soda. After sorting that all out, it took him forever to figure out how to charge me the extra money and wasn't all that polite. Today I went with my mom and when she asked how to leave a tip on a credit card, the girl at the window said they aren't allowed to take tips with credit card orders! What?! Want to support local business vs big chain so tried this place even tho was warned it was not good food. Simple cheeseburger seems like a standard option so kept it simple asking for only onions. I got lots of roughly chopped onions for sure and they spilled all over...i was expecting a raw ring of onion but no problem because this was the best part of the burger. thought this would be one of the better burgers in town. Do not waste time on this. The mushroom swiss burger had teenie mushrooms cuts and the cheese almost non-existent. Too much mayo. The fries were tasteless and not as good as McDonalds--sorry. My choc milkshake had little to no chocolate. All the meal was essentially flavorless. And it is EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE for what you get. They have a BIG sign right out on the road that advertises gluten free bread, buns and English muffins. However, when I pulled up (it's a drive thru) and told them I was celiac and asked what was safe for me to eat, she didn't know what celiac was at first. Then she said all they had that was GF was the bread and buns. I asked, "but what do you put on it, like for a sandwich?" She said "burgers." I asked if the burgers were GF and she said "no." **You can't advertise something as being GF and then put stuff on it that's not GF. Who's going to eat just a bun or a piece of bread??** Their response told me all I needed to know, and I left. They don't take GF seriously, and only treat it like it's a fad diet, not a serious eating issue. I wouldn't expect them to be aware of cross contamination, but if they're going to put out a big sign, the least they could do is offer at least one thing that is truly GF, like a ham a cheese sandwich or something! read more

I had a weird order: just four shots of espresso and cream. I heard a lady a yell to the cashier when she asked how to ring it up that they didn't have cream; "We don't have cream! We have milk!" She did not inform ME, personally, that they did not have cream and that they only had milk... I don't THINK she assumed that I heard someone in the back yell that information. I'm not gonna hold it against them but I would mos def tell a customer we didn't have what they wanted, you know, if it was me. Doesn't really matter. But someone might care cuz milk has a bazillion more grams of sugar than cream. Anyway. Whatever. So, weird order blah blah but they made it and it was LEGIT half the price of not more than half the price cheaper than anywhere else I've gone in Clallam County, so. Way to go, Tootsie's lol. Double bacon cheeseburger was great!!! But the prices are outrageous. 10$ for a meal - medium fry and drink. AND no refills. I'm sorry but that is just crazy. And the buffalo tenders....... Well $5.30 for TWO tenders. TWO. that are breaded so much there is really no chicken in them. We went to Sequim for the lavender festival and decided to try Tootsie's after reading the reviews. Overall, the burgers were pretty tasty. I went with a bacon cheeseburger. The bun was nicely toasted with butter, the burger itself was good quality. The only negative was there was way too much shredded lettuce. My hubby ordered a wild west burger, loved the onion rings (nice and crispy), bbq sauce was good. Overall, I would recommend if you are in the area, the burgers are a step up from the average chain restaurant. read more

super delicious burgers. seasoned fries are WAY over seasoned. I got a lettuce wrapped burger and was charged extra for the lettuce even though I wasn't getting a bun, and it was the worst lettuce wrapped burger I have ever been served. My burger was just slapped between 2 giant pieces of lettuce. Don't offer lettuce wrapped burgers if you don't know how to do a well done lettuce wrap. The are priced way too high as well. read more

Fast, yummy, inexpensive, and great kid food. Wasn't clear from reviews that this is a DRIVE THROUGH restaurant. Outdoor seating is ample, but be aware, there's no place to eat inside. Walked up to window, had food soon after. Best part: FRESH JUICE! We ordered carrot, apple, celery, beet, spinach, lemon juice. Fantastic. And less than $5 for a 16 oz! My dog liked the biscuit...but the double bacon cheeseburger with jalapenos and the bacon burger were dry, flat, and tasteless. It took a while to to get our order so I thought we were getting fresh food. Nope. Awful. Dry buns too. I gave most of my meat to the dog and he hacked part of it back up...so dry. A pretty good burger, had a bacon cheese burger with grilled onions (I'm on a quest to find something close to Five Guys quality but local). One of those places you get cravings for, and it's a step up from the normal fast food places. Burgers are nice and juicy, fries are standard, and the combos are decently priced. I went here the other day for a burger and became frustrated trying to modify my burger.I said I wanted to add tomato on my burger and she heard lettuce. I also wanted an iced Caffè Americano coffee drink with extra ice and she heard hot americano and that is what I got.(I guess that is what comes with a very cheap one way radio ordering system) One of the cooks rudely challenged my opinion on the coffee I was served. In a market with so many other places doing espresso drinks "right",they should either gets theirs right or not do them at all. Most places offer cream and not milk to go in their drinks. Being charged extra for adding tomato to my burger left a bad taste in my mouth also and it wasn't only from the poor quality of tomatoes they use.Tomatoes are in season right now and not that pricey.They charge for water also. Frozen Burgers, pre-made,processed chicken patties and cheap ingredients make this place a last resort if traffic is heavy in route to burger king. Positives I have about this place is some of the girls are always very nice.Also Tootsie's no longer charges fees to use debit cards. read more

WHAT HAPPENED?! Short of having suffered an ongoing series of cataclysmic financial disasters, I can't imagine what would cause the owner to lower the quality and increase the prices to the point that the formerly heavenly creations that flowed from this divine place are now inedible--even if a person were sentenced to an eternity in a hell in which this is the only food available. We've patronized Tootsies for decades. We live less than 2 blocks away, so it was convenient and relaxing to take a short walk and pick up a delicious dinner. We actually quit going because every time I sent my son to order alone ALL of the staff would ignore him, often for more than 15 minutes, even when they weren't busy. Once, we attempted to resolve it with the owner, but the practice continued. When we left, the food was on a downhill slide--apparently it continued until it hit rock bottom. Today, I decided it was worth the price, and my son's protests, to have just one last Tootsie's burger experience. The Prices: It's always been an expensive fast food option, but now the prices are astronomically ridiculous given the drop in quality. The Fries: Are always either too greasy or way too dry. Count your blessings if you get the dry, bland variety; the more the grease, the more obvious it becomes they use a single basket to fry EVERYTHING. I suppose it's a bonus if you view it as a sort of sampler of the entire menu. The Burgers: Once thick, juicy and packed with flavor, are now the thin, dry, flavorless equivalent of a small McDonald's burger. I swear if I measured them, this patty would actually be thinner. The shakes are still basically the same, but nothing you can't get elsewhere. So--I definitely got an experience, and paid dearly for it! Never again! read more

1 star. But only because I had my wisdom teeth pulled yesterday and was starving for sustanance in a form other than liquid. They had food and I was on a time limit. I chose to bypass both the McDonald's and Burger King both of which in the very near vacinity because I would like to think I take more pride in my diet than aforementioned fast food. Thinking Tootsies would be a more suitable substitute, I chose them for my dinner. Bad decision. Between the two meals my mother and I ordered, a) a bacon cheese and b) a double bacon cheese equaling +$20. Portion size of the large fries, burger and soda was suitable in comparison withe the price. This is not my gripe. The issues we had with our meal in lye as followed. French fries: The worst shoe string fries I have ever had in my life. Not only were most of them over cooked, but some one had the audacity to try to toss and mix the old over cooked with new and over seasoned. Consistency in your product will carry you a long way. The burgers... oh the burgers... wow. My double bacon consisted of 2 quarter pound patties that were massively over cooked, way too salty (and I love salt) and had no juice left what so ever. It felt like I was chewing on a playschool toy set. The bacon was obviously purchased pre cooked and then finished to a rubbery brown stick, likely in a microwave. The sauce was tasty the pickles were crisp but the lettuce was soggy and limp. Being a professional cook for over 18 years and a local, I was really hoping to find my new "go-to" mid-level burger place. Sugestions to help bring my patronage back? Find a better possibly local brand of 5/1 burger patties. I know thew exist. I have ordered them before and for the price you charge on your menu? It will help you immensely. Toss out the old fries! It will not kill your food cost, if it does fire your fry cook he is ruining your reputation. Find a way to use fresh bacon. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD! IT'S BACON! Please, treat it with the respect it deserves. Until these items have been either upgraded or you somehow manage to start taking pride in the food you serve, neither myself nor my mother will return. Should have had McDonald's. At least there, I wont get over charged for the exact same low quality heap of miss - treated food. I apologize for the harsh criticism but in order to succeed... Just got a veggie burger, fries and a shake at Tootsies. The french fries were warm, but stale. Think they'd been sitting around for a while. The veggie patty was barely warmed up and it tasted horrible. The shake was thin/melted because they screwed up the order and made the milk shake and fries immediately, but the cook apparently didn't hear about the veggie burgers so we had to wait for those to get cooked while the milkshakes melted and the stale fries cooled off! It was the worst fast food meal I've ever had. I've eaten here before and it was ok for fast food, but its not good like it used to be years ago.
