No weird jabbing comments, no sexism (which is a big thing I deal with a petit blonde woman who doesn't look like the typical customer, or like she does a lot of DIY construction) Defiantly have never once had a bad experience with anyone here and will continue to return.

Endless aisles, zero help in sight, and somehow they're still out of the one obscure fastener I need. Then I discovered my local Ace Hardware, and it's like someone turned on the lights. Yes, it's smaller. Way smaller. But that's exactly why I love it. The store is compact, logically laid out, and--miracle of miracles--they actually stock the things regular homeowners need on a random Saturday afternoon. Specialty screws? Check. Odd-sized plumbing fittings? Got 'em. That weird little part for a 20-year-old lawn mower? Yep, right there on the shelf. What really sets Ace apart, though, is the customer service. These folks act like they genuinely want to help you finish your project. I've had employees walk me straight to the exact item, offer advice on the best product for my specific job, and even suggest clever workarounds when I was trying to MacGyver something together on a budget. No paging someone over the intercom, no "that's not my department," just real, enthusiastic help from people who seem to enjoy what they do. If you've ever felt lost and forgotten in the cavernous aisles of the big chains, do yourself a favor and swing by Ace Hardware. It's not the biggest store in town, but it's absolutely my favorite. Helpful, convenient, and always in stock with what I actually need. Five stars, every time.

LOCAL REVIEW: I had a great experience visiting the Clermont Lowe's. The store was clean and…read morebright. I came with the specific purpose of getting two keyed alike deadbolts. I could easily find the bay where the locks were located. There was a handy doorbell style button you could click to request assistance. A man showed up (I feel terrible that I forgot his name) and he asked how he could help. I asked him about their service to make two deadbolts work with 1 key. He was unsure so he called their resident expert, Danyielle over to help. She was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. She actually informed me that Lowe's will rekey at no additional cost if you purchase the locks there in the store. But it wasn't necessary anyway since she was able to show me how I could find two deadbolts that were already keyed alike. She was kind and educated me which I think is invaluable for any shopping experience for home improvement. Pro tip: call your Lowe's ahead of time if you know you'll need help with something very specific like rekeying locks (as I thought I needed). I had called multiple stores because they usually only have a handful of employees that can rekey. This is what lead me out of my way to this particular Lowe's. But honestly, both employees were much more helpful than I have experienced as other locations, so this location feels worth the trek for me.

What was a big deal is I was getting an upgrade to and iPhone 12 and the man helping me - I wish I'd caught his name - royally destroyed my phone. He somehow put in two activation requests? And therefore when I got home my new phone wouldn't do anything remotely phone related aka make calls, send texts, etc. The store was closed at that point so I couldn't go back. Cue me then calling Verizon and spending nearly an hour on hold with them... the first person was pretty useless and said I wait until the next day and go back to the store, we went back and forth a few times until eventually she transferred me to an actually helpful person who said that he would fix it but it would take a few hours and at ~some point throughout the night my phone would activate. It does work this am thank goodness, but no thanks to the workers in this store. Thanks goes to the IT guys at Verizon corporate. And even the people I spoke with on the phone were like "wow, this guy really messed up your phone" soooo Update: two days later it's not working again - so I'll be going back to this store attempt to remedy the problem. Second update. Changing my review to two stars because the manager fixed it all up for me today and was very kind... doesn't negate the four days I've spent being annoyed & not having a working phone though.
