When it gets busy: people can't tell who is next in line. It creates confusion and chaos. Selection of items are great. Usually there are staff people to help one find things. Value is moderate to expensive price: as Brays knows it's the only place nearby that has all the items they have. It's kind of like WGs general store. BTW: The plants are super!!! read more

I can't say enough about this hardware store. The staff are always available but don't hover over you. The prices are as good as the big box stores. I go out of my way to this particular Ace Hardware because of their staff. Last year I bought a big ass grill from them and they assembled it for free. The young man who assembled it noticed a piece missing but instead of delaying my purchase, he was able to still make it usable and ordered the missing part. BEWARE of their STIHL side hustle. Took a STIHL blower in for a recoil spring issue. I was using the blower and then the recoil spring broke so of course cord was just hanging out and you couldn't start it. Took it down there and showed the issue and we all agreed it was recoil. WELL....THREE days later they call and tell me it is over $100 because it needed new carb, tune-up and other things. It was working prior to recoil failing...and she tells me well we will take everything off and it wont' work. LIAR LIAR LIARs. AND...the women working on 3/20 in the afternoon is completely rude, unprofessional and doesn't have great depth of knowledge about tools when pressed on it. BEWARE BEWARE when using them!!!! Swung by this place to fill up my propane tank today. The staff was super friendly from start to finish. Someone greeting you at the door, someone asking you if you need help, and even the cashiers telling you about how long to expect to wait once you get outside. This place truly gave that "Small Town Feel" and great customer service. Next time we need something for home repairs, I'm positive this will be our first stop before heading out to a big box store. They even had tents up to help shield their customers from the hot sun while we stood in line for propane. read more

Even though they could teach Walmart how to crowd their isles so bad whiff stuff two customer's can't pass each other, I still prefer Ace to most of the other options at times. If you need seven screws, or a pack of ten and some cardio, do the big box. (who the hell puts these dumb quantities together anyway?) But when you only need four metric screws of one type, washers and four metric nuts at a reasonable price - as they say,:"Ace is the place." Although maybe slightly higher priced than a Lowe's or Home Depot, Ace has items these big retailers do not carry. They have great sales on certain items and carry brands like Stihl, Traeger, Green Egg, Yeti and Magnilia Homes paints. Pick up your dog food here! Rent a Bissell carpet cleaner here or take home some herbs or flowers for your garden. Replace your screen here too! Lowe's is close to my home but I make every effort to shop at Bray Ace Hardware. I feel like it is important to support businesses that have ties to your community. This store has been open in Winter Garden and serving the community since 1906. They were originally located on Plant St but moved in 1987 to Dillard St. It's a small store but it manages to carry the basics. I especially like not having to wander around trying to find what I need. Every time I walk into the store I am warmly greeted by one of their employees. They are always eager to help and offer sound advice. I feel like I am in and out of the store quickly and not burdened with long lines or self checkout issues. The flower department is my favorite because every flower looks vibrant and healthy. I always feel good about my purchases. read more

Overall: Have never had a bad experience in this location with everyone being friendly, and helpful. Service: 5 stars: Staff always willing to assist and guide you when you have questions. If that particular person doesn't know the answer, they radio or go find a person who does. Most of the time I don't have to find a person to help me, they will ask me when done with another customer. Always take my dog Amos (at least that's what I have to say so he doesn't find out that once in blue moon I go solo) and he always gets attention from staff and a dog treat when checking out. Never get service like this at the big stores which keeps me coming back. Yes I might pay a bit more here and there but it's worth it! Regular customer in Ace Hardware on Dillard in WG... normally I'd give them 5* for service and they would totally deserve it -- but today they're getting 2 and that's only cause they were at least smiling. Best place to go when you need to fix something. Steven (from Michigan) in the plumbing department was great help. Helped me get everything I needed to fix a job right. This store is always the go to place when I need something. I have been to the big "box" stores and had difficulty finding what I needed before and have even been referred to Ace because they did not carry the item I needed. Really great folks at the Bray ACE in Winter Garden. I made it into the store less than an hour before their 7PM close on Sunday, looking for a gasket for my leaky Pentair pool filter housing, thinking this would be a long shot! Mario met me, and was helpful and patient in attempting to help me find the right sized "O-ring" to help resolve my problem. We were unsuccessful in finding the "right" O-ring. Jason who was unaware of my O-ring problem, was very confident that he could resolve my problem by actually making me a "custom" gasket that would fit and actually resolve my problem! Jason had mentioned to me that his grandfather who had worked for Massey and Ferguson many years ago, had taught his young grandson (Jason), how to make any gasket from scratch. Boy, was I happy that he took the time to help me resolve my pool leak issue today, as a result of this childhood learning from his grandfather. Again, right before the store closing on a late Sunday afternoon, with a very calm, confident demeanor, despite a very low cost purchase on this day (a gasket). Your custom gasket fix worked like an absolute charm, as it immediately stopped the leaking when I got home! On 7/12/2020 at approximately 11:30 AM, I went into Ace Hardware over the weekend was happy to see social distancing markers on the floor and a sign saying masks required on the door, but after entering the store I noticed there was no enforced social distancing, no limit to the number of shoppers within the store, no enforcement of mask requirements, and even several employees not wearing masks. Given that we're seeing record-breaking COVID cases coming out of Florida, I was surprised to see the total disregard within the store. Additionally, the way the exit to the sore was laid out there was NO WAY to exit the store without breaking social-distancing requirements. This is a public safety risk!!! read more

Customer service is usually good but I've had problems with their liquid chlorine product that comes in those yellow plastic containers. They always leak. Not every once in a while but always. I learned to transport them in a large flat bin after one leaked and ruined the carpeting in the back of my SUV. I've been coming to this store for 30 years and about two years ago I stopped receiving coupons from their rewards program. They've tried to resolve the issue but it was never corrected. The corporate people I was referred to were rude on the phone and didn't offer a solution to getting my coupons mailed. I hate going to Lowes but I have been avoiding this Ace store now unless I need something only they carry. They ask for my rewards card every time i go there and when i tell them about the issue, either i get lip service, indifference, or someone actually tries to resolve the problem but they are unable to. read more

TLDR; Male employees were sexist toward me in front of my boyfriend. They lost the key they ordered for me and never called me when it came in. Excludes Edward and Zack who finally helped me with my key. I bought a replacement car key from Ace and after a year of working it fell apart in my purse. Luckily, I have a spare. I went in to get another one because I know it's not Ace's fault that the key was defective. When I was ordering the new key, there were 3 employees "helping" me. It felt odd but whatever. Then they got flirty with me which was extremely inappropriate especially because my boyfriend was standing right there with me. I brushed it off though. Then, while they went to look in the back, one of the employees came around the counter and stood WAY too close to me, even if it wasn't COVID days. He proceeded to tell me how I could have fixed the key and started trying to "teach" me something. He argued with me about how my spare key wasn't broken because he could hear the button clicking. I put my foot down and that was that. They didn't have the key in stock so I ordered it for $79.99 and waited a week and a half before I called to ask about it. The employee who answered the phone was very short with me and told me that it usually takes two weeks so I shouldn't have called. He said when it go there, they'd call. Well, they didn't. A month goes by since I ordered the key and still I had no call. So I called again, this is when they tell me that they have record that the key arrived but I wasn't notified and now they can't find it. Now I have to wait another two weeks for a new one to get there. I call back and ask to speak to the manager. I speak with Edward and he finds my key right away. Then I go to pick it up and Zack was very professional and helpful. These two and the ladies at the front are the only employees who seemed to know what they were doing and had customer service skills. I will not be returning to this Ace any time soon. read more

I've only been to Ace once. But the radio jingles are true. "Ace is the place with the helpful hardware folks!" Went in looking for a well pump start capacitor or some nonsense and they were able to help me to the greatest extent. I called before I went in and when I got there telling them what I needed they said "Oh, you're the one who called!" They helped us with pipe repair as well. Gave us some tips and showed us the best tools to use, and also tried to get us the best deal because they knew we were on a budget. Ace is small but it's basically the Aldi of hardware stores. Smaller selection but good prices and amazing staff. Screw home depot and lowes. I've found my new hardware store. read more
