This place has SO much more to offer than the big box! You walk in the door and it even smells like a hardware store. It has everything... quality cookware, small hardware items (nuts & bolts) that you can purchase individually, Yeti items, you name it! And knowledgeable attentive service staff as the bonus. Prices are reasonable too. I saw a pizza peel competitively priced, or better, than the internet giant. I would move to Winter Park just to use this store... and just might! But totally disappointed I got an item from this place earlier this week and I lost my credit card and because I don't have the same card of the purchase they weren't able to refund the big amount of $5, I'm not returning a car or a house?! In a pinch, I'm sure Millers Hardware is convenient. But it's overpriced and staff has been dismissive at best. The workers outside are disgruntled and confrontational. Furthermore, management decided removing negative reviews is justifiable. Silencing clientele is a poor decision. How about focusing on fixing the real issue(s)? I love this place but I always forget to come here and end up at a big box store. They have a great selection of things you would need to repair, clean or make your home better. The staff is ultra helpful in helping you find that special do-thingy that you might need. You can get jars if you make your homemade jam. You can get all kinds of accessories for your kitchen. This hardware store gets better and better. Every time I go I ask myself, why don't I come here more often. It is actually enjoyable to browse through the aisles. If you can't find it here, it probably doesn't exist. There were two gentlemen on the floor and very approachable and friendly. Purchased a $425 generator prior to the hurricane and was not informed that this was a final sale. I attempted to return the item due to purchasing one that was too small to run my house. I was told that despite the receipt saying 30 days return with receipt, the owner decided to make all sales final during hurricane season. They recently took over the casselberry ace hardware, I went in to purchase a water heater element, they had it priced for $11.99 when they cashed me out they try to charge me $16.99 when I questioned it.. the cashier said trumps new sanctions has caused it and he had to get a manager to override the price that they had originally priced out... We recently had an issue with our weber grill (purchased at a different store) so Weber assigned miller hardware as the warranty service technician. Bob did a fantastic job, from the very first moment he started researching what could have been happening with our grill and he found the issue and fixed it in a matter of minutes. Having a close association with Millers Hardware, I did all my shopping at this store for lawn, birdseed, anything hardware or home related. My last visit, literally, I purchased 10 bags of pebbles for my pathways. When cashier called for assistance, I am 77 and not in great health , she honestly told me "I don't know if he will help you or not". Well, guess what, he saw me and completely ignored me and the request for help. This associate has always been snotty and surly. Manager does nothing when customers complain. A store you don't find much anymore. Miller's is a Winter Park staple to it's community. Serving contractors, dad's and independent women alike. They absolutely have everything you would ever need for your project, including kitchen appliances, college football gear and holiday decorations. A plus is while your shopping you are entranced with the smell of perfectly popped popcorn which is made from an old school popcorn machine near the front of the store. It's free to enjoy! There are many staff members on the floor that will direct you to where you need to go to find what you are looking for. Very friendly. Parking is behind the building. I find it best to enter from New York and turn in to the alley that runs behind the building, you'll hit the parking lot and also see the back of Miller's. Not only was he extremely helpful and detail oriented, but their price was the lowest I could find in the area. I went in to purchase a strike plate for my door lock, but at the time I had no idea that the piece I was looking for even had a name. Oy Vay. I didn't even bring a photo! The gentleman who helped me didn't belittle me for coming to the store ignorant and ill-prepared. Instead, he listened patiently to my description and took me directly to the piece I needed. He reassured me that if it wasn't the right piece, then I could bring it back (even with open packaging). Also, I was in a pinch for time and brought all 3 kids with me, and all the employees were so patient with our circus. Went in during my lunch break to get some keys copied, and the staff was super friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to provide extra information when I asked a question, and had a great attitude that made me feel welcome. It doesn't have the variety of a Home Depot or Lowes, but I seem to always find what I need here, that I can't find at them, plus more. For instance, compared to the big box stores: * I can find a rubber gasket for my Bialetti coffee pot here. * A pressure washer rental is about half the price. * They have unique snacks, like fudge, and drinks like root and ginger beer, you might find in a small town store. We'll always grab an assorted 6 pack of there sodas. * You'll find unique items in the cookware and pets section. * And the workers are helpful. Someone mentioned the prices are 20% more than other places, but I haven't experienced that yet for my purchases. Maybe I've just been buying most items I don't see at other places. Whenever I'm in the area, I'll try to stop by here to stock up on certain things, such as their Poison Free Roach traps and again their sodas. read more

I cannot say enough nice things about the employees. Their advice is priceless! From paint removal to weather-treating to whatever--they're knowledgable, so much so that their confidence is infectious. And so many of these guys have great senses of humor! They make home improvement projects fun again. Plus, I especially love that they never talk down to women. What a fun store to just browse through... they have some of *everything*! Candy, toys, night lights, cool carabiner clips, grills, shower caps.... the list is endless. I saw things here that I didn't even think they made anymore. Things that made me squeal, "OMG... My grandma had one of these at her house!". If you like paying 20% more than you would at a Home Depot go here. I'm not sure what the "charm" is with 1970's displays and products that nobody has bought in 30 years. Here is some advice, instead of replacing with an overpriced part, drive 3 miles in either direction to a Home Depot and replace the whole thing for less than the part itself. Oh and NEVER buy LP here they DO NOT fill it up and trick you by charging a lower price for a fixed amount of propane that they never seem to want to reveal. I know how much a filled tank is supposed to weigh and it does not come back at the filled up weight. read more

Went in because they are a Yeti dealer to buy travel mugs. I have been here a few times in the past and the women at the checkout are always rude and most of the time won't even acknowledge you. We spent $85 for two mugs and didn't get a "Hi" or a "Thank you" even after I greeted them. The staff is super helpful and don't mind when I basically give them a laundry list of items to find. They're knowledgeable and the place is tons of fun. All the tools and hardware you need, plus replacement parts for maintaining what you already have. No matter what strange replacement parts, batteries, tools, etc. weird snacks, vintage inspired nick-knacks you can imagine, this is the place. It's fun to go there, and while I find the prices to be spot on, anything that might be more than a big box store is more than made up for by the stellar, personalized service and friendly staff. read more

Stumbled across this place one day while riding through Winter Park. I had needed a few things for a couple of DIY projects I have going on but I had not felt like heading over to Lowe's or Home Depot. So, I ended up giving this place a shot and it ended up being a good decision. Miller's has more than enough supplies to help you avoid the crowds a the big hardware stores. Miller also has a number of hard to find items and tool brands that you won't see at the bigger stores. Even better, the prices for the items weren't that bad at all. Add to that a friendly staff and I can definitely give a recommendation to this hardware store. It's a more than adequate alternative to the bigger stores at there. read more

Overwhelmed with the amazing customer service here. Walking in, the store was big and organized. There were plenty of employees on the floor, ready to help. After approaching one employee who confessed he didn't know much about the parts I was looking for, he radioed someone who could. When I met that person, he was very friendly and knowledgable. When he asked what I was making, he leaned in and quietly told me I would have better luck going to Skycraft parts and surplus. I seriously can't say enough good things about Miller's. Their staff is incredibly nice and knowledgable--I've even just called and been given advice on minor home repairs to save me a trip and money. They have a little bit of everything, so it's kind of a one-stop shop. I run into people I know almost every time I'm there. I love that the store is dog-friendly. I am stoked to go home and use the ant barrier around our doors and windows, and even more stoked to have a mosquito racquet of my own (I can return my dad's now!). No returns on hurricane items! What? No sign was posted when I bought a $40 flashlight and $12 6 volt battery. Didn't realize how expensive so I planned to return. But no they are more concerned to make money off the hurricane. Never thought this local store would do that. I didn't buy the right batteries and it was too late to return when I realized it. The store has lots of hard to find items, and I really wanted to like the place, but quite a few of the staff seem to act very condescending.
