Yesterday (8/13) at around 4:15PM I bought a transformer from the store. Cost me $34. Unfortunately, it did not fit in the space I have. I took the item back today at around 12:00PM (8/14) with my receipt. I was told I could NOT get a refund for my item, even though I had my receipt. She didn't even open the box to check the item (I had repacked it the way it was sold to me). She asked her supervisor, and the supervisor also said no refund. The cashier told me there were no refunds on electrical items. I was not warned about this by the cashier when I bought the item. I was flabbergasted. I like to support local businesses, but that support only led this local business to spit back into my face. I will never use this Ace Hardware again. We will now make sure to go to the big box stores to guarantee we get a refund if something doesn't work, especially within the first 24 hours. I actually left the transformer with the cashier because I can't use it, and maybe someone else looking for one will be able to. I hope keeping my $34 was worth it to never have my business again.

Like most Home Depot locations, this place is huge and it would be easy to get lost wandering the aisles, seeking that elusive product. But one good thing, you can always seek out a Home Depot associate in the orange apron and they can point you in the right direction. Since it was close to closing, the associates seemed more intent on getting out of work and I really can't blame them. Still, they directed us towards the aisle we needed (I believe it was aisle eleven) and we had a slew of padlocks to select from. We made our choice in a somewhat speedy fashion and we're out of there before closing with our newly purchased padlocks. I will say that the neighborhood might not be the safest at night, but they had a mobile trailer with security cameras in the parking lot to monitor the activity. As soon as I walk in, I'm always greeted and offered help finding whatever I need. Though you may think it's small from the outside, they carry an incredible amount of products and once you're inside, it's much larger than you'd think since the expansion.
