I'd much rather buy from a family business and pay a little more than deal with a business where you have to walk miles to locate help and I have had to bring my purchase back several times because they weren't knowledgeable like the guys who work at Millers. Ignore those negative reviews I'm a long time shopper of Millers and no one asked me to post this.

I can not tell you how surprised and happy I was that Wayne helped me once again. I had a store experience so bad I will never use this Ace Hardware again. This took place at…read moreToole's Ace Hardware in Maitland (1607 S. Orlando Ave.). Yesterday (8/13) at around 4:15PM I bought a transformer from the store. Cost me $34. Unfortunately, it did not fit in the space I have. I took the item back today at around 12:00PM (8/14) with my receipt. I was told I could NOT get a refund for my item, even though I had my receipt. She didn't even open the box to check the item (I had repacked it the way it was sold to me). She asked her supervisor, and the supervisor also said no refund. The cashier told me there were no refunds on electrical items. I was not warned about this by the cashier when I bought the item. I was flabbergasted. I like to support local businesses, but that support only led this local business to spit back into my face. I will never use this Ace Hardware again. We will now make sure to go to the big box stores to guarantee we get a refund if something doesn't work, especially within the first 24 hours. I actually left the transformer with the cashier because I can't use it, and maybe someone else looking for one will be able to. I hope keeping my $34 was worth it to never have my business again.

I had an extremely disappointing experience at this specific Ace's Hardware. I brought the set back in original packaging, no damage, and my original receipt but I was told that I couldn't return it because it was "used." What made this experience so frustrating was how rude the employee at the register was. I left feeling like I wasn't being treated fairly. Later in the day, my father returned with the exact packaging and the exact same receipt. They accepted the return without any issue and were friendly to him. Based on how differently we were treated while under the same circumstances, I was left feeling like I was judged differently only because I was a younger customer. Whether that was intentional or not, that's how the entire experience came across. I expected consistent customer service for everyone and unfortunately, that wasn't my experience.
