Getting a quote to replace a door. We had no idea doors could be so expensive. They subcontract with a company that comes out to your home to measure the door and documents all materials needed, handles pulling permits, taking the old door and installation. Eddy Lopez is who we are working with and he has excellent customer service. He walked us through the door choices , the costs and the process. Each of these shopping experiences have been solid for me. And when I've needed to return an item, the process has gone smoothly. The employees have all been helpful. Some purchases here include a soil probe, mulch, lightbulbs, and Ryobi brand power tools, one of the brands that Home Depot highlights. I don't hesitate to purchase here for to all of the above reasons and will continue to frequent here. I ordered a microwave to go above my stove. the man came to deliver and her walked in looked at the stove and quickly spread his arms wide saying "I can't do this!" So I said then take it back and I did get my money back but never heard from the store. This week I got one from Lowe's store in Altamonte Springs and the guy came in and did an amazing job. I told him what had happened and he said some people do not know how to put them if if there is tile. So I assume that is why that man from Home Depot did what he did. Pretty standard location. The seasonal merch and the garden section are to your left when you enter. The rest of the store spans out over to the right. We were there to check out the Halloween merchandise and we were looking for trunk or treat ideas because we're doing that with our daughter's daycare. We found a few things but everything was still pretty pricey for just a quick Trunk or Treat easy idea. We did pass several staff members throughout the store when we were walking around. However nobody really stop to say anything or ask if we needed help. Not a big deal we knew we were looking forward to something to know, you might have to go up to them if you do need help or something. We grabbed some Roundup for our front driveway because there are some weeds growing through the pavers. We did the self-checkout because it's usually easier for us. There was a staff member on our way out at the self-checkout and she did tell us to have a good day and was very nice. The store itself was well organized and clean it was pretty easy to find things if you look up and check the banners for where things are. Overall: B Standard location with nothing to write home about. They weren't doing any good seasonal merchandise sales just yet. They did have all the standard product you would expect to find here so if that's what you're going for this is an easy place to shop. read more

Wow. Worst delivery experience ever. Bought a fridge. Paid extra to have them move the existing one into the garage. Delivery guys said "no can do". Said if they take the doors off to move it, they have to haul it away. After calling and getting no help from CJ the store manager, we gave in and told them to haul the old one away. But it must've been too close to break time, because these jerks just hopped in their truck and took off! No new fridge, old one left pulled halfway out into our kitchen. The website said that three units were in stock, however the shelf was empty and the unites were up in the rafters. I had to speak with four people in order to get to someone who then had to make four phone calls to get someone else to simply get the item down and restock the shelf. Go to another Home Depot and save yourself the headache. Went there initially to get new flooring installed - they do not have a good process for this. And if you're spending upwards for 10k for new floors, you want people who actually pay attention to detail. They do not do that here. At another time, I asked a person if they had something in stock. They did but no one could find it. Eventually, we found it without their help. Then they incorrectly charged me for the item. Refunded the first charge - yet I still have 2 charges on my card (no longer pending). I don't blame the people at this store, they are just doing their job. But their training must be awful. I don't expect much from Home Depot from a customer service stand point but yesterday probably topped the cake. I placed an order online. Two planter with stands and some fertilizer. It was ready for pick up within 1 hour. Once I got there, I went to the online order desk and picked up my things. So far so good. While walking to the car, I noticed my large planter didn't have the stand included. Please view the picture. I ordered that stand particularly for the stand. So back inside I went. The cashier called someone and apparently it was the lady who pulled my order in the first place. I picked up the planter and before I could tell her what the problem was, she asked me if I was missing the stand. So she new, when she pulling my order, that it was not complete but didn't feel like making a note of that. She walked with me to the garden center, where the planters are located and told me that the stockers were "stupid" and threw the stand away, because they thought it was only packaging and not part of the planter. There was another planter in the gardening department and that had the stand missing as well. She told me if I didn't want the planter now, I have to return it. Of course the return lane had 6 people in line. What I really found upsetting is, that the planters were not removed, even though half of it was missing and it seems like Home Depot will try to sell them at the same price without the stand. I wasted over 30 min in the store and didn't have time to speak to a manager. I will avoid that store in the future though. read more

I moved into my home last week. I searched online for flooring, and Home Depot appeared to have the best deals. I requested measurement and estimate for replacing old carpet with vinyl. The person who came to my home did not say anything about them refusing to remove and haul away the old carpet. Shortly afterward, Home Depot called and offered estimate. The contract they emailed to me specifically stated that removal and disposal of old carpet was included in the price. I even asked about this specifically, and was assured that the carpet would be removed. The contract also states that they cannot remove "animal" stained or flea infested carpet. There are no pets allowed per HOA, and no evidence of fleas or "animal" stains on the carpet, the carpet is just old and has "regular" stains. Since I was told by staff member that the carpet would be removed, I approved the purchase and provided my credit card information. The following day, the installer called me to discuss the installation, and he said that I would have to remove my carpet prior to the installation. He told me that the person who had come to my home for measurements and estimate had indicated that the carpet was too soiled for them to remove. The in-home Estimator had never discussed this with me, and the person who called with the contract not only did not tell me, but actually assured me the carpet removal was included. I told the Installer that I would have to cancel the job if they weren't willing to remove the carpet, and he told me that he would have Home Depot staff contact me. I then received a call from Home Depot, and the person told me that they were not able to place heavily soiled carpet next to new carpet in their trucks. Apparently, they are placing "lightly" soiled carpets next to clean carpets in their trucks, which is disgusting because a used carpet holds a lot of potentially infectious material whether it looks clean or not. This person did not apologize to me, or offer me a price break so I could hire someone else to remove the carpet. I specifically asked for the Flooring Manager to call me back, and they never did. The next day, I called them to make sure all of my money was being refunded (contract allows for customer Cancellation within 3 business days of signing). At this point, I was offered $150.00 discount if I did not Cancel. I explained that it would cost more than $150.00 to hire someone to remove the carpet, and declined the offer. At this point, finally, I received an apology. I am extremely disappointed that the person who measured and estimated the deal never told me that they were not going to remove the carpet. As a matter of fact, the Contract shows the specific measurement of carpet and indicates there will be $0 charge for this. This was extremely unprofessional. read more

Employees would holler down an aisle to see if we needed help! My husband even managed to get a small search party together to locate me when we got separated! How can you possibly go wrong at Home Depot? Their staff is amazing oh, I hear they treat their employees with dignity and respect. They love America enough said. But I will go on. The painting department is my favorite place and a close second is the garden department. Ray and Mikey in the paint department are phenomenal. They are both very knowledgeable and it makes me feel good that every time I come in they acknowledge me even if I don't visit their department, as I'm walking by they make it a point to say hello. I like their return policy I love that they give discounts to vets although I prefer hometown and local this is one chain that I stand behind. read more

The DIY workshops are great and very informative. Kids workshops every first Saturday of the month are my favorite. Staff is for the most part friendly just not enough of them. This store is going downhill fast. I have been a regular customer for over ten years, and once upon a time it was easily the best HD store around with regard to the many experienced personnel with appropriate backgrounds to offer expert advice on a range of matters. Slowly but surely though they've been retired or have simply died, leaving behind a bunch of cheap-hire millennials who don't know anything, couldn't care less, and have attitude issues. Professionals should take note that HD seems to have done a complete about face regarding its return policies and now seem to want to go out of their way to refuse returns. As long as I can remember every time I've done a rehab job - or repair work on one of our rental properties after a tenant has departed - I've stacked up all the bits and pieces I haven't used and wait until the job's finished before taking them back to the store for e refund. Long ago I got into the habit of simply having the items refunded to a store credit, firstly because I pile up so many receipts during a job that it would be tedious looking through them all, and secondly because I'd use a mix of either my credit card, debit card, or cash during the work. Typically I end up using the store credit to indulge myself in some new toy I figure I need. Most stores would be happy with such an arrangement, as the money ends up coming back to them anyway. So a few weeks ago I bought a bunch of lumber and some screws to put up some much-needed storage in our garage, which meant moving a ton of stuff around. Along the way I found a few bits and pieces from work I did last year that I never returned, and once the job was finished had a few pieces of timber left over and a packet of screws that I didn't end up needing. All in all probably about $50 worth of stuff. Bear in mind that I practically live at the store and we typically spend somewhere between $6,000 - $10,000 each year with HD on basic property maintenance and various projects. That's not even counting the amounts we've spent totally rehabbing the various properties we own. As per usual I took the items to the return desk, gave them my driver's license when prompted, and looked askance at the staff member when told my return had been 'declined'! How the frick do you 'decline' a return? When I told them I had a pro account, had dealt with the store for over a decade without a hitch, and asked for clarification on the problem, they just looked at me coldly and stated 'we aren't required to explain why you were declined' - you'd think I had just asked for a loan! The whole attitude was as if I was some kind of criminal - to be a long-standing customer who's thrown plenty of money at HD along the way, only to be treated like this, was pretty disgusting to say the least. On my way out I saw one of the old hands and asked him for clarification, and all he could say was that I must have exceeded the threshold for returns! How I managed that is pretty astonishing, as I hadn't done any major work since we spent a total of $16,000 last year repairing a house of ours that had been totally trashed by one of our tenants. After that I had gone overseas for four months and hadn't done any more work other than the garage job on our own home. As I said, HD is treating me like crap over $50 worth of items, when we spend so many thousands of dollars with them? I was also told by the friend that my failed attempt would have resulted in me being locked out from returns for 45 days - nice! So for any professionals out there please note, HD has taken to treating its loyal professional customers like garbage - buy items at your own peril if you might be counting on being able to return faulty or unused items. read more

Is the Home Depot / Lowe's debate on the same level as Pepsi / Coke? I don't know? I do have certain impressions of each, and I must say that perhaps Lowe's comes out slightly ahead in sum total (neater? brighter? more helpful staff?) Truth be known, I go to the convenient one, or when there's something I want on sale. There were a couple of things on this visit - minor, you might say, but enough to take off stars. While I'd found associates usually helpful in the past, and more importantly, KNOWLEDGEABLE, this time around, it was not the case. I'd asked someone for advice on toilets, and all he did was read the information off the box (note to self, wear my "I'm not illiterate" T-shirt on future visits - if I owned one such shirt). When I asked someone else for help to find medicine cabinets, he looked up and down, 'found it!', asked if I needed more help, and walked away when I said 'no'. As I looked more closely, it was the section for CEILING LIGHTS!!!! Turns out what I was looking for was in quite another aisle. Well, in his defense, they ARE both rectangular in shape, and that could be quite confusing! Then finally, when I checked out, the cashier didn't offer to give me assistance to get the toilet loaded (over 90 lbs, the outside of the box warns, and bulky); I asked for it, and dude who came to help did the job (I had to wait a bit), but either he's sworn a code of silence, having a bad day, or just not particularly well-versed in the art of customer service. Given the above, is '3 Stars, A-OK' generous? Heck: color me "generous". read more

This is the worst store, the associates don't know their own departments. Only a handful of people are knowledgeable and helpful, often the associates in their department read the label on the item. I can read the label, but clearly the answer is not on there. This store has fallen off in the quality of its employees in the last 20 years, can't find someone and when you do they are talking with their friend. They don't take Apple Pay which's puts the Stone Age, better off going to Ace or True Value. They always have some one who knows their stuff, they don't stick some one in a department just based on their gender. read more

I have to mention how wonderful the delivery driver is for the Home Depot Pro Delivery. The house across the street was recently sold and they are doing some work on it. The thoughtless contractor left an alarm (not a house alarm) going off when they left on a Thursday afternoon. Home Depot delivered Friday mid morning and I approached asking if he had a contact number for the house explaining loudly over the alarm that it had been going off ALL NIGHT! He said he could take care of it and after some searching was able to disable the alarm. I am so thankful for this because no one returned to the house until Monday and I would not have made it three more nights without sleep. Thank you again!!! read more

A year or two ago, all Home Depot locations seemed to of gone through intense customer service training. That all appears to be lost at this location...and maybe some tightening of the belt. After going to their website to do some research for a new dishwashers, we went to this location to see the sale models. We wandered around the two rows of washers for 15 minutes...there were no other customers in the area, and unfortunately no employees to help us. None of the units were marked with their sale prices or the specials going on for the holiday weekend. Some units weren't secured in their positions and would tilt forward when you try to open the door. Actually, we had trouble finding any units highlighted online and in the circulars. All the prices shown were the regular prices even though they were all 10% off. We finally gave up ad decided that we would go to the Casselberry location where we've had more luck recently. As we're walking out, there were three employees behind us yucking it up with each other and not interested at all in acknowledging each of the customers they passed. The one positive during this particular visit were the hot dogs and pizza they were giving away for the holiday. read more
