LIFE SAVERS. I…read moreneeded an urgent, quick turnaround alternation on dress pants for my boyfriend's event. I was trying to find a tailor who could help take on this job for a same-day pick up, but unfortunately no one was able to help EXCEPT UNIQUE CLEANERS. I reached out via Yelp and received a response within the hour, letting me know to call & stop by the shop in the morning for a consultation. Every other tailor was fully booked and I was getting stressed, crossing my fingers that Unique Cleaners could take this on since they were my ONLY option after all the inquiries. Super professional staff. Quality job done. Will be back for any future tailoring needs. :)

The only thing unique abt this cleaners is how careless they are regarding items that are being…read morecleaned. They send your items off to a third party to have them wash and send it back. Which means they have no control over how they wash delicate clothing and the items take a lot longer than expected to be ready for pickup. My brand new shirt is embellished with gold monogram flower hardware around the neckline which I specially said please be very careful and gentle with. It came back and guess what???Careless. The hardware has a string that totally fell off and they somehow have punched a small hole on the bottom of the shirt. Like okay my shirt is totally damaged now. If they couldn't have done the job without damaging my shirt, he could've just denied me as a customer. I would've preferred that over a damaged shirt. Come on, get it together. Never again. Def don't recommend this spot unless you don't care abt your clothing.

Jill and Maria are true miracle workers…read more I had two wedding dresses brought in for emergency alterations (one was my reception dress, suffering from a wrong size and poorly done work from a prior seamstress; the other was a dress for a courthouse ceremony which needed hemming and the bust taking in slightly). The entire experience was so refreshing in the midst of stress of whether my reception dress would fit and look halfway decent. Jill and Maria were confident from the start and immediately got to troubleshooting my reception dress. Within minutes, Maria diagnosed the issues and assured me that it would all be fixed. What a RELIEF! Granted, I still had to get into the best shape of my life in the month or so that I had before the wedding, but knowing that I was in Maria and Jill's expert hands meant I didn't have to scramble for a new dress. Both dresses were completed to my satisfaction in a timely fashion. Jill was always responsive to my requests and calls and so kind. Maria is a wonder and I am so thankful for her skilled artistry. The prices were beyond reasonable-in fact, the cost of alterations for my reception dress was less than the botched job the previous seamstress had done. You truly get what you pay for and I will be a forever client of Perfect Fit Alterations as long as they are in business.

More importantly, the work itself is great. The price is fair, and it can add up when you have a lot done at once, but that comes with the territory. I have not seen mediocre work from them yet, everything comes out exactly how you want it. I will keep coming back and giving them my business for any alterations. Thank you.

I found this tailor shop through Yelp, and I'm here to report that they do an excellent job. I…read moretypically mend my own clothes, and I can tell you that their craftsmanship is phenomenal. I've had this leather jacket for almost ten years, but in the past two three years, it's gotten a bit too tight. To be fair, I got it during the era of the shrunken leather jacket, iykyk. I brought it to Puac. They told me that they don't have the fabric for it, and gave me direction to this fabric store downtown. I thought, well, I'm in this for the plot, and went where they told me. This let me know that Puac knows exactly what to look for. The fabric store was great, and when I told them who sent me, they gave me a 15% discount off the leather. When I brought the leather in, there was a week and a half turn around. They measured it out, and gave me an idea of how it would fit. I would say that you do pay for the quality of their work. It cost me about a hundred dollars for the tailoring alone, which I thought was absolutely worth it. The leather was $68. This is a jacket that I will continue to wear for a very very long time. I know that this tailor shop can do generally alterations, but I would trust them with more complex alterations and trickier fabrics to work with.

Armeene's Tailoring & Alterations

Armeene saved my wedding day!…read more I originally bought my dress from a local bridal shop that promised many customizations. They phoned it in for all of them. Sloppy work for everything. Some of it was ignorable or blended in enough to ignore, but specifically a belted area around the waist ended up noticeably sloppy and wider than I wanted. They made a bunch of excuses and shooed me out the door. I couldn't even look at the dress without being mad - not a great wedding day vibe. Armeene came to my rescue with only two weeks left until the wedding! She was clear with me that it would be difficult to pull off - the dress was constructed in a way that made the customization difficult (why did the dress shop even promise it?? Ugh). Not only did she and her assistant understand exactly what I wanted and pull it off nearly perfectly, they did it in only two days for a price that I found to be more than fair!! I will forever be grateful to her. The next time I need some pants hemmed or altered I'm heading her way again! I've attached some before and after pictures to show the magic!

After reading her great reviews, I decided to trust Armeene with my wedding dress. I had a lot of…read morethings that needed to be changed, so I was very nervous that if I went with the wrong person, I might not have a wearable dress by the end of it. However, Armeene did a beautiful job and was reasonably priced! If you choose to have her alter your wedding dress, you'll know your dress will be in good hands. Also, she is incredibly friendly and has such a lovely personality. I greatly enjoyed working with her! Now onto what I got done. I knew when I bought my dress that I wanted a few things to happen: close or hide the trending deep V in the front, add detachable straps (I ordered them from the bridal studio), and take in the bust. I also need some regular alterations, hemming the dress, bustle, and taking it in a bit. She made all the changes happen and they looked absolutely amazing! I was very happy with how it turned out. I knew my dress wasn't an easy one to alter since she'd have to remove and replace the appliqué on it throughout the process, but she did an incredible job! I would recommend her to any bride who needs alterations!

Jenny's Tailoring

I needed a bridesmaid dress shortened and another dress adjusted. So after looking up Yelp reviews,…read moreI found Jenny and tried to call to see if they were open (COVID period). No one answered but I drove there anyways since the store hours indicated it was open. Street parking was available and it wasn't that hard to find a spot. Inside the store, there was a changing room available for customers to change in. Afterwards you would step out to have alterations pinned in front of a big mirror. When I shared concerns and what my desired outcome was for the dresses, she was able to quickly make suggestions. She was a seasoned tailor because the end results were impressive. Afterwards she gave me a very reasonable quote so I happily filled out some contact info and left my dresses with her. There was an agreed upon pick up date but I forgot to write it down. But that wasn't an issue, I went in when I remembered and my dresses were ready and waiting. I am happy with the service and alterations. The only note I would leave for new customers is to forget about calling. I tried on different occasions and no one picked up and the answering machine was full. It's better to check shop hours and just show up! Also her door is sometimes locked (for safety) so don't be afraid to knock loudly if the lights are on.

I left one star because Jenny is great at what she does. However, I have been a client for years…read moreand have consistently overpaid for services. I continue to go back because she does good work and the location is convenient. This past week, I had enough! I took my daughter's prom dress to her to have it cut. She pinned the dress and waited until my daughter removed the dress to inform me that because of the material, it would cost $400 to have it cut. Keep in mind, I've paid $120-$180 in the past for the same services and one of the dresses was very similar to this one. $400 is insane and more than ti paid for the dress!!! I ended up finding a place in DTLA that charged me $80 and they also did a good job. Jenny refused to lower the price and seemed to not care she was losing a loyal customer.

My experience with Concierge Cleaners was awful. I found them to be incompetent, dishonest and…read moreunwilling to reimburse for clothes they ruined. Here is why: Our home was damaged in the Eaton Fire. Our clothes were smoke damaged and had to be professionally cleaned. Our remediation company recommended Concierge Cleaners. In hindsight, I suspect they got a kickback "Shane," (as he calls himself, is apparently the owner of Concierge Cleaners) picked up the hundreds of items to be cleaned. We were unable to live in our house for months, so the transfer of clothes was chaotic. After numerous requests, "Shane" finally gave an estimate which was far less than the amount ($2,533) that they ultimately billed. Among the clothes Concierge took were several expensive coats and suits. We obviously expected them to by dry cleaned. Instead, Concierge threw them in the wash with the underwear and t-shirts. Literally, they were put in a washing machine which ruined the fine wool, then put in a dryer which shrank them. Then they were tightly folded and wrapped with the laundry. The suits and coats were obviously ruined. When we informed "Shane" what happened we assumed he would act professionally and offer to compensate for the damage. When mistakes happen people with integrity take responsibility. But integrity is not "Shane's" strong suit. First he denied ever having the suits and coats. Then he claimed they could be fixed by dry cleaning them. That did not work since the fabric was already ruined and the suits shrunk two sizes. I told "Shane" we would be satisfied if Concierge paid just a fraction of the cost of replacing the suits. We have a lot going on trying to make our house habitable after the fire and don't have time to mess with an incompetent and dishonest dry cleaner. Unfortunately, Shane stopped responding and is now unreachable. So now we have to haul this clown into small claims court to get him to pay for the damage he caused. I have lived in the Pasadena area a long time and know there are good and reputable dry cleaners. Concierge is not one of them. If you want someone who does not know that fine wool suits have to be dry cleaned, lies about what happened to your clothes, and refuses to compensate you when he ruins your best clothes, then you will love "Shane" and Concierge Cleaners.
