I found this tailor shop through Yelp, and I'm here to report that they do an excellent job. I typically mend my own clothes, and I can tell you that their craftsmanship is phenomenal. I've had this leather jacket for almost ten years, but in the past two three years, it's gotten a bit too tight. To be fair, I got it during the era of the shrunken leather jacket, iykyk. I brought it to Puac. They told me that they don't have the fabric for it, and gave me direction to this fabric store downtown. I thought, well, I'm in this for the plot, and went where they told me. This let me know that Puac knows exactly what to look for. The fabric store was great, and when I told them who sent me, they gave me a 15% discount off the leather. When I brought the leather in, there was a week and a half turn around. They measured it out, and gave me an idea of how it would fit. I would say that you do pay for the quality of their work. It cost me about a hundred dollars for the tailoring alone, which I thought was absolutely worth it. The leather was $68. This is a jacket that I will continue to wear for a very very long time. I know that this tailor shop can do generally alterations, but I would trust them with more complex alterations and trickier fabrics to work with. read more

Had a jacket altered here -- because of the sleeve detail, the alteration required work at the shoulder. I have a shoulder injury that affects how sleeves hang, something previous tailors have always caught and accounted for without issue. Puac didn't ask about anything like this during the fitting. At pickup, one sleeve was noticeably shorter than the other. When I pointed it out, I was told fixing it would cost an additional $50. When I asked why this wasn't caught the first time, I was told he doesn't ask clients about body issues because it's "embarrassing" for them. Respectfully, identifying these things without needing to ask is the job. A tailor should be assessing posture and fit issues as a matter of course, not skipping that step and then charging the customer to fix the result. Won't be returning. read more

As other people have mentioned, the tailor here is amazing- he said yes to a dress alteration that 2 other tailors declined due to difficulty. That being said, I agree w the other reviewers that his pricing seems a little spur of the moment. I expected to pay more for my impossible dress alteration (50), and thought that was fairly priced, but was surprised by an overcharge for a fairly straightforward shirt alteration (30). When I was ready to walk on the second item, he adjusted his price down slightly. But tbh I find it a little stressful to negotiate over pricing, I prefer a fairly set price to start. read more

I brought my dress in to have it hemmed and sew the thigh slit shut a few inches. I dropped it off on Tuesday and picked it up on Thursday so the 2 day turnaround was nice. However, when I picked the dress up I noticed the work was pretty sloppy. The thigh slit was sewn crooked and that was the part of the dress that you can actually see. I feel disappointed as I wanted to bring my other clothes to be tailored here. I'm regretful that I used my brand new $250 birthday dress as a guinea pig for this place. I'm unsure this job is fixable due to the fragility of the fabric either. I was charged $40 for the hemming and sewing the thigh slit. Tailor told me this place is cash only. read more

They ruined my shirt. They changed the price on me, made my garment too short, used poor quality/thicker thread than the original and the stitching was messy. I needed to have the sleeves of a dress shirt shortened last minute and was told it would be $20. When I got there they said it would be $25. I was fitted and they put a safety pin in the sleeve but the final outcome was shorter. It was a nice dress shirt but the thread they used is chunky and the stitching has bunches and clumps of thread and it was stitched in a way that makes the fabric wavy instead of laying flat. read more

I've read many positive reviews for wedding dresses alteration and stopped by for the first time with two dresses. One was a wedding dress and another was a sequin gown. Both needed alteration on straps and length of the skirt. The gentleman that helped me was friendly and professional. There is one dressing room to change so if there are many customers, there will be a wait. They are quiet busy as there are constant walk ins. I'm glad to see business is thriving! I parked at another parking structure and walked over. Street parking is available if you can find any. There was no rush on my end on the pick up date. I believe it took about 1.5 - 2 weeks and they are ready by the promised date. I paid during pick up with a receipt. They do accept credit cards. After searching for a very long time for a reasonable and excellent tailor, I'm SO glad I finally found Puac and his team! I initially brought a midi skirt to another tailor near Manhattan Beach to get the waist taken in and shorten the skirt, and they charged me $60 which is absolutely overpriced! I obviously didn't go through with it and found Puac on Yelp. He was able to do the alterations for a fraction of the price and was able to complete the job quickly! Puac is extremely professional, friendly and does an impeccable job. Everyone on his team are so respectful during fittings and would always tell me what they will pin before doing so, which made me very comfortable with the whole experience! I don't live anywhere near Alhambra, but I will always make the drive since I cannot find a tailor that's just as good as Puac and at a very reasonable price. I've already brought several items of clothing to them and each piece fits perfectly. There's also free parking around the corner in a covered structure which is another plus. Great service and was very friendly! I came in to get the waist on a pair of my jeans widened and the guy was very friendly and attentive. He was honest with me in what he could and couldn't do given the restraints of the fabric. I came by twice and both times there was no other customers waiting so I was assisted immediately. Puac is such a great tailor and gives super reasonable costs! I've gone to him on multiple occasions for about anything and even convinced my husband to get his pants tapered by him. He also takes unusual requests, I had these ski overalls that had rips on the bottom but only on the outer fabric layer. I wanted to salvage them and told Puac he didn't have to make a clean fix as long as the rips were sewed up. He created multiple zigzag stitches on my pants that sealed the tears, and now I could reuse them over and over! read more

Great alterations and resizing! Puac the tailor is amazing! And great and fantastic with what he does. I was a little apprehensive back in May when I brought my wedding dress in. It's my first time experience to have anything tailored. I wasn't sure what to expect. But I decided to trust the process. He was open and honest with me about how hemming it at the bottom was going to be a little difficult because of all the intricate beadings, etc but still willing to do it for me. Then I've lost some weight, and had to have it resized. So I returned to try it on again to have it resized and to add a bustle as well. They had the resizing and bustle done in a week . (Also made me some detachable capped sleeps for me). And helped me try it on again and did final inspection and quality check before letting me walk out with it. Puac and the team did an amazing job.
