Jenny at Jenny's Tailoring was incredibly sweet and was so quick to help. I brought my dress to her a month before my wedding (because I lag) and she put me completely at ease and said it would be no problem. She was quick and efficient and it came out perfectly! She even helped fashion a band that would help bring in my dress without having to alter the material as that would have cost an extra $200 or so. It was brilliant and my bustle was perfect! She hemmed about 7 layers from the front as well and was very reasonably priced!

Jenny took in the inner layer from the waist up, as well as all of the illusion layer throughout the torso, chest, and long sleeves

I'm sad to see these negative reviews of Jenny - I've been bringing dresses, couture gowns, dress slacks, blazers, swimsuits, etc. to her for alterations for 2 years and consider her my hidden gem. Doesn't matter what material she's working with - illusion sleeves, satin, polyester, nylon - she know's what she's doing. I'm super thin but curvy, and nothing I purchase ever fits exactly right. I've found her prices to be fair, the quality of her work to be excellent, and her personality to be straightforward and honest. She's a no-nonsense woman - so no she isn't the softest or bubbliest, but I trust her entirely. When I brought her a lace up wedding gown for my engagement photos last year that I thought needed to be taken in at the bodice, she helped me into it, showed me how to lace everything up properly so that it was a perfect fit, and explained that it didn't need any alterations. She was absolutely right and sent me on my way without charging me a penny. She could have made a fortune off of my ignorance but didn't - that's the kind of integrity I want in a person I work with. Today I'm bringing her my Marchesa Notte rehearsal gown, and my fiancé's suit pants for alterations - I know they'll be in good hands!

The hardware has a string that totally fell off and they somehow have punched a small hole on the bottom of the shirt. Like okay my shirt is totally damaged now. If they couldn't have done the job without damaging my shirt, he could've just denied me as a customer. I would've preferred that over a damaged shirt. Come on, get it together. Never again. As a result, my sweaters shrank to the size of an 8-year-old's, and the fur on my Canada Goose coat got shrank and damaged from the wet and dry process. When I returned the items, they offered to enlarge my sweater back to its original size, but it didn't work, and the coat's fur collar was further damaged. I found out they outsource the cleaning to a third party, which doesn't seem to properly care for the items, with no quality control. For many years of using dry cleaners, this has never happened--no one would ever water-wash cashmere or down coats. I won't be coming back to this store. I don't recommend this store to any family and friends!

Jill and Maria are true miracle workers…read more I had two wedding dresses brought in for emergency alterations (one was my reception dress, suffering from a wrong size and poorly done work from a prior seamstress; the other was a dress for a courthouse ceremony which needed hemming and the bust taking in slightly). The entire experience was so refreshing in the midst of stress of whether my reception dress would fit and look halfway decent. Jill and Maria were confident from the start and immediately got to troubleshooting my reception dress. Within minutes, Maria diagnosed the issues and assured me that it would all be fixed. What a RELIEF! Granted, I still had to get into the best shape of my life in the month or so that I had before the wedding, but knowing that I was in Maria and Jill's expert hands meant I didn't have to scramble for a new dress. Both dresses were completed to my satisfaction in a timely fashion. Jill was always responsive to my requests and calls and so kind. Maria is a wonder and I am so thankful for her skilled artistry. The prices were beyond reasonable-in fact, the cost of alterations for my reception dress was less than the botched job the previous seamstress had done. You truly get what you pay for and I will be a forever client of Perfect Fit Alterations as long as they are in business.

The uniform store where we purchased the cardigan had embroidered the school logo way too low, making the cardigan unusable for my daughter. I figured I'd try to remove the embroidery by hand and maybe use the cardigan around the house. As careful as I was, removing the embroidery still left a quarter-sized hole. I took the cardigan to Perfect Fit to see if anything could be done. When I got it back, I couldn't tell where the hole had been! The seamstress painstakingly rewove it - it looks brand new! I am so appreciative of the great work she did and of the excellent customer service. In this age of technology and mass production, it's great to see quality craftsmanship is alive and well. Now I have a new comfy sweater I can wear for multiple occasions!

I've had this leather jacket for almost ten years, but in the past two three years, it's gotten a bit too tight. To be fair, I got it during the era of the shrunken leather jacket, iykyk. I brought it to Puac. They told me that they don't have the fabric for it, and gave me direction to this fabric store downtown. I thought, well, I'm in this for the plot, and went where they told me. This let me know that Puac knows exactly what to look for. The fabric store was great, and when I told them who sent me, they gave me a 15% discount off the leather. When I brought the leather in, there was a week and a half turn around. They measured it out, and gave me an idea of how it would fit. I would say that you do pay for the quality of their work. It cost me about a hundred dollars for the tailoring alone, which I thought was absolutely worth it. The leather was $68. This is a jacket that I will continue to wear for a very very long time. I know that this tailor shop can do generally alterations, but I would trust them with more complex alterations and trickier fabrics to work with.

Some of it was ignorable or blended in enough to ignore, but specifically a belted area around the waist ended up noticeably sloppy and wider than I wanted. They made a bunch of excuses and shooed me out the door. I couldn't even look at the dress without being mad - not a great wedding day vibe. Armeene came to my rescue with only two weeks left until the wedding! She was clear with me that it would be difficult to pull off - the dress was constructed in a way that made the customization difficult (why did the dress shop even promise it?? Ugh). Here is why: Our home was damaged in the Eaton Fire. Our clothes were smoke damaged and had to be professionally cleaned. Our remediation company recommended Concierge Cleaners. In hindsight, I suspect they got a kickback "Shane," (as he calls himself, is apparently the owner of Concierge Cleaners) picked up the hundreds of items to be cleaned. We were unable to live in our house for months, so the transfer of clothes was chaotic. After numerous requests, "Shane" finally gave an estimate which was far less than the amount ($2,533) that they ultimately billed. Among the clothes Concierge took were several expensive coats and suits. We obviously expected them to by dry cleaned. Instead, Concierge threw them in the wash with the underwear and t-shirts. Literally, they were put in a washing machine which ruined the fine wool, then put in a dryer which shrank them. Then they were tightly folded and wrapped with the laundry. The suits and coats were obviously ruined. When we informed "Shane" what happened we assumed he would act professionally and offer to compensate for the damage. When mistakes happen people with integrity take responsibility. But integrity is not "Shane's" strong suit. First he denied ever having the suits and coats. Then he claimed they could be fixed by dry cleaning them. That did not work since the fabric was already ruined and the suits shrunk two sizes. I told "Shane" we would be satisfied if Concierge paid just a fraction of the cost of replacing the suits. We have a lot going on trying to make our house habitable after the fire and don't have time to mess with an incompetent and dishonest dry cleaner. Unfortunately, Shane stopped responding and is now unreachable. So now we have to haul this clown into small claims court to get him to pay for the damage he caused. I have lived in the Pasadena area a long time and know there are good and reputable dry cleaners. Concierge is not one of them. If you want someone who does not know that fine wool suits have to be dry cleaned, lies about what happened to your clothes, and refuses to compensate you when he ruins your best clothes, then you will love "Shane" and Concierge Cleaners.
