If you can speak Chinese, the process is a breeze! She's so nice and is so genuine. I brought a dress over that needed some serious work (a ruffled sundress) and she wasn't BSing anything. She told us straight up that the altercations would cost $50 and that it just wasn't worth it and I could easily buy 3 other dresses with the price of this one dress. She suggested that she just cut it short and I can add a belt instead to make it fit better. She obviously wants the best for you and is really fair about her prices. In total, my two dresses only costed $30 and she even gave us $5 off. She originally said my dress would take about 2.5 weeks to finish, but when I said my prom was in 2 weeks, she said she could make room for me. If you can't speak Chinese, just show her what you want when you try on the dress and she'll know what to do. Please check this place out! read more

Went here on Thursday 12/15/2016 to get a dress altered for an event on 12/17/2016. At first Annay told me a week but I told her my event was on Saturday. First of all, it was my fault for bringing it in so last minute. I didn't plan on getting the dress altered but decided on doing it last minute. She saved the day! The sweetest and most talented lady, but yes you will have trouble communicating details if you don't speak Mandarin. Because of her skills, attention to detail, and fair pricing she is always swamped so come in the sooner the better. If you need something last minute she'll often shift around her work to cater to you. She can seriously tailor anything, ANYTHING. She tailored a dress for me in a funky scuba material. Since the sewing machine would damage the fabric, she did it by hand and it was machine-pristine. I was so impressed. Make sure to keep the receipt she gives you, she writes the pickup date on there and there have been customers I've seen that come in on the wrong day and without their receipt, and they end up getting mad at HER for their alterations not being ready! She's really kind and got my dress tailored just as I wanted. She makes you try it on several times to make sure that everything is perfect. She's fluent in Chinese but even with my broken Chinese and using some English, there was no problem communicating with her. Annie is so talented! I needed a bridesmaid dress hemmed, which she did amazingly. I also thought I needed it taken in a bit, but she suggested I adjust the straps instead, which was a much better idea than mine, and cheaper for me. Basically, Annie knows what she's doing. She knows better than I know what needs to be done to get the result I want. The end result looked like what I originally purchased, just so much better fitted for my body. She wants to make sure you're satisfied, so she'll also have you try it on the day you pick it up just to make sure everything is perfect. Yes, it'd be best if you can speak some Chinese. But she's also been working on her English and she sent texts to me to remind me of fitting appointments and when the dress was ready to be picked up. She communicated very clearly in English when texting. I'll only be going to Annie from now on for my tailoring needs. Oh, also, she has a lot of customers, and she's handling the entire store and all the tailor-work by herself. Getting big alterations can take some time. Plan accordingly. read more

Little old lady tailored 2 of my dresses to absolute PERFECTION and in record time...and at an EXTREMELY reasonable price. She speaks Mandarin and very broken English from what I gather from other reviews. Cheap pricing for great work and never lets me over-tip her. Reminds me of my grandma... My sister has been coming here for a couple years and recommended it to me and it did not disappoint. She speaks minimal English but she's able to communicate with gestures. I got my wedding dress tailored here after being turned down everywhere else for giving too late of a notice. I honestly didn't think you needed over 2 months to tailor your dress, but I suppose when you reach out to the most popular places, you'd expect some sort of wait list. Anyhow, I've gotten pants and skirts tailored with Annie previously so I was familiar with her and how fast she worked. Her work isn't the highest quality, but she is efficient, reasonably priced, super kind, and gets the job done. I only needed to hem my wedding dress, so I wasn't too concerned with trusting her with my dress. Overall, I had 3 fittings before she actually made any real cuts. Annie was so patient with me and made sure I was truly sure of the length I wanted before making cuts. She also made sure to cut less in the beginning and go through a few fittings before I got the right length. She doesn't speak English very well, and if you speak Mandarin and English, she may ask you to help pick up a few calls or translate for her. read more

At first, I felt uncomfortable due to the Chinese language barrier but she genuinely wants to help, and will do what it takes to make sure she does the job right. Annie is the best! I found E&T Tailors through Yelp and brought a bridesmaids dress to get hemmed in May for a destination wedding late June. Thank god I brought it early enough because there was a 30 day notice posted on her window saying that due to being overbooked, all items wouldn't be ready for at least 30 days. I just reiterated to her when my friend's wedding was since it was cutting a little close. If you are one that doesn't speak Mandarin, such as myself, you might have a bit of trouble communicating with her, however there was another customer in the shop that was able to help us out. Fast forward to June... Annie courteously texted me when my dress was ready on the date promised. It was hemmed beautifully!
