Pants tailoring is $15/per pair. I came here with three pairs of pants that needed to be hemmed. Shortly after arriving, I gave the lady the measurements of each pair. There is also an option to try on your pants and have her measure on the spot for you. Pick up was about one week from the drop-off. On the day of the pick up, I decided to call in to make sure that it was ready to pick up. However, she told me that she had lost the measurements. I ended up having to give her the measurements again and she hemmed the pants while I was there (took about an hour). I feel like the measurements may have just gotten lost with the other clothing but it was definitely disappointing to not be able to pick up right away. Great price compared to other places that I've been to but make sure to confirm that your items are ready to be picked up before going. read more

Great no-frills tailor. I brought in a bridesmaid dress that I got on Birdy Grey which ended up being way too long. You go in, change into the dress, and then they will measure out where to make adjustments. Then you change back, give them your info, get a receipt, and you're good to go. Lots of street parking right out in front or nearby. The changing area is a little bit small/cramped, but that's fine. I had zero urgency, so they gave me a 2 week waiting time. The guy working there is nice. My only gripe is that my dress costs $60 to get tailored. Tailoring cost more than the dress itself. Also, bring cash because they will charge extra for credit card. read more

I came in on a Friday for a simple pants hemming. The pants were straight leg pants with a slit at the bottom. I was told by the man that my pants would be ready the following Friday after 3 PM. It cost $10, so not a bad price. The following Friday, I did not receive a call about whether my pants were ready or not, so I arrived at the shop after 4 PM since they close at 5 PM assuming that my pants would be ready. I gave my copy of my receipt to the same man who had originally taken my measurements and pants and he asked what color my pants were. When I told him they were light blue, he searched through his stack and found them, then told me that he hadn't started on them at all but that it would take him 15 minutes to get them done. My husband and I waited outside for about 20 minutes and went back in. It took closer to 30 minutes for the pants to be hemmed and ironed, but I was just grateful to be able to take my pants home. I tried on my pants at home and they looked great on the outside, but when I looked at the hemming on the inside, it was a wreck. The fabric hadn't been cut straight so little bits and shreds of the fabric were sewn haphazardly in place (see photos). Overall: Pros: pretty good price; the hemming job itself was done Cons: my pants were not finished on time; the hemming was done very haphazardly so I'm concerned that the bottom edge of my pants will breakdown over time and I'd have to get them fixed again in the future; lack of communication from the shop to let me know my pants weren't done The man should have just told me to come back at a later time or I should have just asked to come back later so that my pants could've been hemmed nicely and not in a rush. I won't be coming back to this tailor and would not recommend them to anyone I know. read more

Been going to this family run business form many years and they always do a great job and at a fantastic price! I recently dropped off 3 of my favorite pants that North Face doesn't make anymore. They have seen a lot of wear over the years. I needed a few holes at the pocket seems to be repaired as well as one of the zippers was broken. Ever since my favorite tailor retired, I've been on a hunt for a new one. We are so grateful that after trying a few different ones, we found a local one that is wonderful! Kim works by herself, but is very creative to achieve whatever we are trying to do. My husband had multiple jackets and shirts that he had paid another tailor to work on, but it just wasn't to his liking. I brought in 2 wedding gowns. 1 to be shortened and the other to be taken in. He had me put on both and advised me to not spend money to take it in because 1. If he took it in to how I wanted, I wouldn't be able to walk or sit in it and 2. If he took it in to accommodate walking and sitting, it wouldn't make much difference. Told me to just save the money. TL;DR, They lost my pants! First experience from awhile back was ok. I had to have a suit altered. But when i came to pick it up, it hadnt been touched. So i was asked to come back for it in a couple of days. When i came back to pick up, i found that my pants hadnt been worked on. So they did it right there and then, but i think because of that, one pant turned out to be more narrow than the other. Fast forward to more recently. I gave this spot another chance. I needed my brand new suit pants to be altered, and was given a week turn around. Come pick up time, my pants cant be found. Told me theyd have it by end of day and ill have it then. Nothing. Next day i called to check on them, and im asked to come in to talk about it, turns out they lost my pants. They pay me for the price of it, and thats fine but now that its a bit more than a week away from a wedding date, i have to order a new pair of pants AND find another tailor, because i wont be returning here again. But I am happy to report that his son and wife are now running the business and it's the same quality of work! This is my experience from a few years ago that has disappeared. It is 100% factual of what happened. Based on a prior review by Kahloy C, in which he mentioned that this is a "first class haute couture" tailor, I stopped by today with some high-end items. Because my items are so expensive, I wanted to first stop by to meet the tailor, get a sense of the shop and its cleanliness, and most importantly get a read on the man himself. "Couture" tailors are neat, tidy people - always perfectly polite and unflappable; this attitude is usually reflected in the perfection of their seams. I brought in 3 items: an Escada oversized bag (retail ~$1,200), a Moschino skirt (this is not the Cheap 'N Chic diffusion line, but the actual Moschino, so retail about $600), and a TSE skirt ($200). The bag has some white leather edging that was showing wear, so I wanted the edge replaced. The tailor kept asking "what fabric is that?" about the bag, and when I told him it was leather he said he didn't sew leather. Interesting, since couture clothing often have leather designs that high-end tailors usually deal with, and he clearly has not had to "deal with" such items. Also interesting that he couldn't tell that it was real leather - I can tell an expensive leather bag from a mile away. On to the next item, the simple TSE skirt. It was a simple straight skirt with no lining. He quoted $12 to take in the sides, and $12 to shorten the hem. This is not cheap, given that the shop is very very modest (in both location and presentation); I have had the same price at most average tailors in Pasadena. For the Moschino skirt (a straight simple wool skirt with lining), he quoted $16 to take in the sides and $19 to shorten the skirt. Again, this is average market pricing for below-average work. I then asked him about the simple TSE skirt: would the alterations be noticeable? I already knew the correct answer: it should have been "absolutely not!" because it was the most simple of hems and even an average tailor would have no trouble promising virtually perfect work. Instead, Tran said, "It's not going to be exactly the same! NO ONE can make it exactly the same!" Excuse me, but I'm pretty exacting about my clothes, and countless mid-range tailors have shortened almost identical hems for my skirts with virtually NO sign of the alteration. I didn't say anything, but I must have looked shocked. Tran then said,"where is your tailor? Where is your regular tailor?" in a nasty tone. It's none of your damn business, sir. Tran then said, "You should take it to your regular tailor!" as if I couldn't possibly find someone who could make a perfect alteration. Then, the best part: throughout our entire 5-10 minute conversation there is stuff falling out of his mouth; he was chewing nuts or something gross and white and it kept falling out of his mouth and I was pretending to not notice that he was spewing bits at me every so often. Then a piece fell out and hit my skirt! I jumped back and literally ran out of there. Regarding the previous review that brought me in to the shop by reviewer Kahloy. I should have heeded the warning bells I heard when I read it, because usually someone who uses high-end tailors has excellent grammar; when I look at their other reviews I can see that they visit high-end establishments in LA, so a lifestyle emerges of that person. In this case, there was poor grammar in the review (it's "advice," not "advise," buddy - now go edit your review!) and he seems to frequent low-end (mostly Vietnamese) eating establishments. And to top it all off, based on Kahloy's photo, he looks exactly like the tailor Tran. So much for the "objectivity" of Yelp reviews. I also noticed the kind of clothing that was being worked on in the shop. All low-end, dime-store clothing. Mr Tran is not a "Monsieur Tran" by any stretch of the imagination (i.e., a French couturier of any caliber), and his son should not be writing reviews for pop. read more

This was my first time walking into a tailor without a notice prior. I had walked into 2 other places who turned me down. A part of the stitching on one of my suits had ripped so it was an emergency I get it fixed (had work that night). Upon walking in she asked me how she could help, I showed her what I needed fixed. She said "give me 5 minutes". Finished up what she was doing, took my piece of clothing, then fixed it up immediately. Good as new, if not better! Never got the chance to get her name. Quick and nice tailor. However, if he doesn't see fit how a garment should be tailored, he won't do it. I asked for some slacks to be tapered for a slim fit aesthetic and I wanted the slacks to be a few inches above my ankle. He was adamant that it would not look good and decided to give me a relaxed fit with the pants only slightly above my ankle. I submitted requests for quotes and my request was responded very quickly and the price was reasonable. Dropped off the dress around noon on Tuesday and picked up at 11am on Saturday. So lucky to drop by this tailor shop the other day to have my pants fixed. One side of the sewing edges came off after several washes.
